Whenever I sync mp3 files using wmp, or even transfer using explorer, and open them in WMP/Nitrogen, the meta data does not show up.

I currently missing photo and music, not really missing them, If I open ES File Explorer and open .sdcard/DCIM/Camera all my photo are there. They just don't show up in Gallery. I can open them from ES File Explorer fine. Same with Music, I can open /sdcard/Music and all my music is there but when I open the Music App, it reports"You don't have any music in your library." I can open any song from the file explorer.
Also I can no longer see any files in storage when I connect my Xoom via USB to my Win7 pc, the internal storage shows up but is empty.
It's as if the ownership of the files changed.
This problem is true both when using Music and Ubermusic. I have an album which showes up great when using itunes on a PC or ipod on my iphone, but only 4 of the 17 songs show up on either of the above programs on my Xoom. All songs have the same bit rate, and meta tags (all classified using Tuneup addon for Itunes.
I can see the rest of the songs when using file explorer (in the same folder), and I can play them when I click on them in file explorer!
I have tried clearing application data on both several times, and they won't show up no matter what!
What do I do?
Thanks
Hi, I have this new problem all of a sudden. Had a bunch of mp3 on the phone which was working fine. Then I was playing around with file explorer and deleted the temporary files and also some file in the music directory on the SD card...found all the sounds were gone.
So I synced HTC sync again including the songs that were in the itune list for the HTC phone. After I could see the songs on the phone, but it says it "unable to play this type of audio file"
When I unplugged the phone from computer....the songs on the music app seem to disappear all together.
Anyone have any idea?
Thanks

Sounds like you probably shouldn't have deleted those temp files. Try clearing the cache, and go through the SD card and wipe all your music as well as temp files and see if that clears anything up.
If all else fails, simply do a backup and flash the ROM again. If that doesn't work, just re-flash without restoring the backup.

Maybe you can try refreshing the music library by going to Manage Applications>All>Media Storage and clearing data. Reboot the phone to let it rescan for your music files. Not sure if this will work though
I have my music stored on a folder on my pc & have it stored on my 128gb sd card
I'm constantly downloading new music, editing other files, and deleting stuff I never listen to.
Is there an app out there that can mirror each folder and sync them?
And no, i do not use Dropbox.
Check out "FolderSync" in Playstore.
IT FIXED ITSELF. Don't ask me how but I just booted the 700, open FM (file manger) and low and behold all the files on the microSD are showing in the category section ! ! !
TF700 on 7.1.2_27, using Asus File Manager v2.0.0.397_180123.
Ok here's what it's doing, I can use the file manger fine to browse the microSD card, but none of the file are showing in the "Category" section and the are in the correct folder (ie. music, pictures, ect.). I have scanned the microSD card for .nomedia and none were found. Also when I copied some songs to the music folder on the internal storage they show up in the category bubble for Music. Also because file manager doesn't categorized the media file on the microSD card correctly, Gallery and my music player do not show the files, but they will open and play music is I select individual files using the file manager.
Another thing, everything was working fine, it wasn't until after I copied a few songs from my cloud to the microSD via PC, reinserted the microSD in the TF700 that this problem started.
