Friends,
I use S2P media player. I noticed that when I run S2P, windows media player launches. This is a annoyance and was wondering how to prevent this from happening?
Please advise and Thank You!
Tvos
s2p utilizes windows media player. it's essentially an extension to work with s2u2
is that not one in the same?
tvos
so you are telling me that windows media player on the pocket will automatically load when S2P is launched?
please advise,
tvos
i haven't tried it myself b/c s2u2 draws too much power, but yes i believe s2p is running wmp

Hi all,
I'm using CorePlayer as music player on my TP but I've discovered that if CoreP is running, everything else is working terrible slow.
If CorePlayer is plaing 128kbit mp3 and I'm working on opera there is a HUGE delay in keyboard response, menu speed and so on.
There is no similair lag when playing music on internal TP player.
Could you please recommend me some alternative music player which is less resource consuming than CorePlayer?
Regards
B.
I would recommend you Pocket Player. Finger friendly and i can usually read my ebooks while listening to music.
I'll try it - are you reading books on this PP or I misunderstand something ?
I'm using an old version of uBook reader which works fine for me
Regards
B.
WMExperts just did a comparitive article on some media players.
other alternatives could be: S2P (discontinued in the meantime but still a good app)
hope you find what you're looking for
DicE

Err nope two seperate programs Pocket Player for music in the background and eReader.
Pocket Tunes is fine for me!

Pocket Player 3.7 slows down for me as well.
Even when the app is killed, it's still slow.
Nothing suspicious found in Task Manager.
Only way out = SOFT RESET
Why not just use WMP/S2P/Audio Manager? I seem to find that S2P does a very good job. I use WMP nowadays also with SRS WOW HD and Audio Booster. It does a good job once you find the right settings on audio. and I still love WMP's feature to lock the screen and use all the buttons, S2P can do that also
Music Player
I concur that Pocket Player is the best I have found after trying a number of different ones. Very user friendly & not too draining on resources...
I love my iPhone because it can be my media player and my phone. But, I need more functionality offered in Windows Mobile.
So, do you guys use your Windows Mobile device as a Media Player? Or do you have separate Zunes/iPods/etc. to do the work of the media player?
If you do use Window Mobile, let me know what program you use for your media!
TCPMP is an excellent media player. I have not found an unlocked audio or video file it could not play. If you search for TCPMP in this forum or in the XDA-Developers Wiki you'll find most anything you'd want to know.
That said, while TCPMP is a nice player, it is not an organizer nor does it have a fancy "choosing" function for selecting files. Perhaps someone could recommend an application that makes launching TCPMP more intuitive.
Both have their place
I've got a Zune 30 that I bring along when I know I'll want plenty of music to choose from. My main reason is that battery life on my Tilt is not what I'd like it to be because my 8 gig sd card has plenty of room for tunes, and S2P is one of the slickest programs I've ever seen. You would be comfortable with it immediately. I do listen to Audible content (newspaper) on my phone every morning with the Kinoma player. It's actually easier to get the content onto my phone than to get it on my Zune. Audible's manager program blows hard. The Kinoma player can handle pictures, video, and streams as well. I use it for Youtube all the time.
As an added bonus for us Zune owners, I recently discoverd that ZunePass subscription content can be synched to our phones with Windows Media Player and plays just fine in either WMP or S2P, so I have been putting more music on the SD card lately.
on those occasions when i only want to carry one device then I use S2P to play audio files on my Trinity.
S2P on the Tilt for music, TCPMP for movies. Done.
Is s2p free? What media formats does it support? Is it A2DP compatible? And does it have any way of controlling music in standby mode (Can you click the D-Pad while the screen is off to skip a song??? Can you control volume using the toggle switches?
Thanks for the tips guys!
I use the HTC Audio Manager, which has a very similar interface to the classic iPod. You can use the D-Pad to control it and the volume switch to change the volume (but I think the device has to be on)
It supports A2DP.
You can also control it from the home screen (http://www.unwiredview.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/htc-touch-diamond-official.jpg)
Kinoma Player
I've used this free program called Kinoma Player which is brilliant.
It has full touch friendly interface, it can stream youtube files, supports many other files, it's great overall, even has podcasts.
I'd recommend that program, you can get it off of Windows Mobile Total Access or from Kinoma's sight directly.
Hey, about the ZunePass stuff, my subscription music doesn't work on my T-Mobile Wing. Any clue why? probably cuz of the DRM's but you guys said urs worked, so it leaves me wondering.
Do you sync ur Zune music to your phone using Windows Media Player sync? Or do you just drag & drop the music to ur card?
Sync the ZunePass content through WMP
and it should work. At least that is what works for me.
I had some media files (2 albums) stored on the Device memory. I cut and paste to the storage card and now the media player won't play anything, and it won't recognise new albums on the storage card?
Error message is...
We're Sorry....
A problem has occurred with AudioManager_eng.exe.
I have tried a soft reset but no luck, is there a way to reset the media player to default in anyway? or reload the sw?
I am using XDA Serra.

Bump.......does noone know how to fix this?

Same issue with me. I'm using NATF's 2.3 on the Fuze.

Well I am using S2P now which is working really nice, and is better that the Touch Flo player, although it doesn't have a playlist option.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=417511
However I would prefer to get the TF version working, even if I won't use it much now.
Cheers, Blair
I'm not sure but if you don't sync youy music library trough media player on your pc you're not be able to see it in Touchflo media player...
So try to sync some music this way or scan trough wmplayer to update the library, maybe this way TouchFlo media player show the list.
However I used to refresh the Touchflo music library deleting the folder called HTC under Application Data Folder at the root.
Reset the unit.
Just because TouchFlo does'nt seem to refresh any change made if I keep the same name on playlists or make modifications on albumart.
Hope this help! But I really recommend conduits Pocket player as the best player (lyrics, bluetooth, fullscreen albumart, equalizer, dsp, etc.)
TF3D Music player..
Thanks! Just downloaded the Conduit Pocket Player. Still wish I could use the TF3D interface to this or WinMediaPlayer. Maybe will be addressed in future NATF rom...

Anyone else have trouble w/ Pocket Player on the Fuze? It seems to 'skip' about once or twice a song, w/ no exceptions. I can't figure out how to fix that. Any ideas?
Hello members, Sorry if this seems a bit of a silly question but fairly new to all this and was wondering on my hd2 after downloading tcpmp, how to use it with my player, bbci and catch up tv etc.. I have tried to configure to use tcpmp on my player but is asks me to use coreplayer or comes up with a protocal error? Some of it works with windows media streaming but would like to use tcpmp as the player, could someone help me on this. Many thanks and look forward to your response.
Hi folks,
I've been trying a couple of ROMs to breathe new life into my old Tornado Noble, but have run into a problem with Media Player 10. Same issue on WM6 Platinum SP1 and Gregory's 6.5.
Some music tracks just will not play. I used the desktop media player to sync them (all mp3) with no issues, i've tried re-coding them to 128Kbps, and copying them over, but the same tracks just give an error. They play fine on all the PPC versions of media player mobile, just not on this smartphone version.
Any ideas?
Thanks for any pointers!
*I re-coded to WMA128k and everything plays, which i'll use as a workaround. But, i'd still like to find out why MP10 has difficulties with some mp3s and not others (same album).

perhaps it is because the source filter for WMP was not loading properly! you try it with this application, maybe it can fix and do too little change in the registry like this -> [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\ UIPlugins\{D7D08B8C-E755-4fa9-8E79-139FA379E00E}]
"FriendlyName"="HTC WMP Control Plug-in"
"Description"="HTC WMP Control Plug-in"
"Capabilities"=dword:0 --> change it to = 1
after that soft reset your device....
Thanks for the effort Hakim, but that didn't help. WMP just seems determined not to like mp3s.

Really? then you should try to use the application free MP3/MP4/M4A/AAC/WMA/WAV/M3U/PLS/ASX v0.83 S2P player. It simply lets you browse your music files play &. It is fully integrated with S2U2; & supports A2DP AVRCP &.
go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=556885 to get it
Not sure if S2P (Slide to Play) will work on a smartphone without touchscreen. You may wish wish to check out tcpmp as well. Commercial products are also Coreplayer or PocketPlayer.
There may also be something weird with these special MP3 that don't work. Can you find anything in common for those that do not work? Lookup some mp3 checker program with Google. You could also upload a faulty track here (or at mediafire or alike) so we can check that with our devices/ROMs?
