[question]confused about kitchens and packages - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

i m new for cooking kaiser, i used hermes kitchen(pandora) before
i found that the the package used in recent kitchens(pheonix, anryl, or those using envius kitchen) are in different layout then before(hermes pandora, medkid's kaiser6.5).
sometimei just want to use package from one kitchen to another...but it just can't do that
can anyone tell me that what the differencce between these two lines of kitchen.
are their file(package/ sys/ rom) interchangable??? how to make it works?
thanks a lot

The new kitchens are based of Bepe's PlatformRebuilder. See the DarkForceTeam forums for more info the kitchens and on how EXT packages are built.

thx a lot....
um...i need much more readings then...

Is there a WM6 Rom Kitchen for the Wizard?

I have seen a lot of releases of ROM Kitchen, but not for the wizard.
So, here's my question: is there a WM6 Kitchen of the wizard publicly released out there? I'm not talking about Molski's Dev Pack (which is a great collection of tools, but misses the package management stuff).
I'm talking about something like the ROM Kitchen released by bepe for the Hermes http://cleanimport.xda/index.php?threads/298636/...
Over the past months, I have been building my very own WWE kitchen for the Wizard and fixing registry settings at the package level (rather than patching after it).
If there is interest, I could release it...
Let me know.

i would be intrested in your rom kitchen...

YES. Unleash the kitchen. Maybe we'll all learn to cook someday!
@all
It's very simple to cook your own kitchen.
I don't know wht are you waiting for? Try to cook it by yourself and take tytn's kitchen as example.
gd luck.

For the uninitiated, can you explain a bit more. Take my example, I am a noobie and have flashed plenty of times. But anything more and my mind registers a blank. But I would like to tread this "cooking rom" path as the next step.
Thanks for the information. "A step-by-step guide to forming your own kitchen and cooking roms for consuption" would be just great.
ya let it come, for now i use molski kitchen for rom cooking.
Just follow bepe's kitchen structure and analyze the package(s)

That's what I did originally.
Then I discovered the Scoter Kitchen, which is based on bepe's tools too.
Nice thing about the scoter kitchen are the dmp2pkg and pkg2dmp tools which I have not found in another kitchen so far (at least in the ones I looked at).
That kitchen it also great, because it comes with documentation in html included and plenny other tools to work on the XIP segments...
They are nice as you can re-build the packages from the DSM files (like DSMTool previously) and recreate your dump directory with pkg2dmp (like BuildOS).
At this point, I don't know what is better: pkg2dmp or BuildOS. I have yet to port the packages I extracted from Orwell and modified,
to the bepe Kitchen to compare (not too difficult, just that I was focusing on something else).
Regards,
--eluth.
Any WM5 Kitchen will work for WM6. I really dont see the build diffrence between the 2 as far as building. I use the files attached and they work fine for me. No walk through as I havent had time to write it down.
Basically it works like this though:
Step 1. Run dump.bat
Step 2. Modify the files in the working directory.
Step 3. Add files to dump folder (not what you find in working directory, thats automatic in Step 4.
Step 4. Run make.bat.
Pretty simple i think. All these are pulled together from other posts so if you have questions just read. LOL. You can also just PM me but remember I am kinda busy and might not reply very quickly.
Unable to upload to site so have to use rapidshare for this one. sorry guys.

need wm 6.1 base rom!

ive decided to try something new and try out hypercore kitchen but i needa base rom that isnt the stock T-Mobile ROM
can anyone give me a link to the newest version of 6.1?
thanks.
no one?
or is it just really late?
Your best bet is to use JustClean. If you really feel the need to use Hypercore, grab the SYS, OEM, and ROM folders from JustClean. Strip out the OEM packs you don't need and add the packs you want.
If you are feeling ambitious, try merging Hypercore with JustClean. Update the internals of Hypercore first though.
Use Hypercore for extraction and JustClean for builds.

You can search the forum on how to port or you can use bepe kitchen which already has a striped down version of wm6.1.
If you use bepe kitchen, you must have a good working oem folder of your own.
Cooking takes time and most of the time is reading, testing, debuging, and simply learning.
Most of the cooks will tell you that it takes a lot of time.
Thats why I spend at least a month on one rom before even beta testing it.
Anybody can use a kitchen to produce a rom, but will it be your rom?
Ivannmj is one of my best friends on this forum and has creaeted a very good kitchen, but I think his kitchen was intended for people to created their own roms for personal use.
You can use his kitchen to create roms for others, but you will miss out on learning all of the steps in creating your own rom.
Also, I'm not trying to made anybody feel bad or tell people not to use ivannmj kitchen, I'm just trying to tell people that want to become cooks to spend time learning the entire process.
Just my two cents,

Exactly! ^_^ That's why it was originally called EasyBakeOven. You're not really cooking. It's more like a customized version of my ROM.

TNT.Kitchen based on Kaiser_Kitchen by _Alex_ (All my OEM's)

Hi,
at the begin, i want to give all credits to _Alex_ for his kitchen and i want to tell you all that "This kitchen is _Alex_ kitchen with integrating All packages to one by bepe"
if you are beginner, just visit this
if you tried kaiser kitchen before, just read the edit directly and download.
What i did:
- Fully supports all_packages_to_one.exe by bepe (which give the ability to combine all dsm files into one dsm file, so Windows directory contains just one dsm file).
- All packages arranged to be easily updaeted.
- Useful registries included.
- SYS and ROM based on 19202 by nothrills.
i hope you will find something in this small thing .
you can download it from: http://rapidshare.com/files/108164052/TNT.19202_Full_Kitchen.rar
The kitchen is missing Rom Folder, Download it from the link: http://rapidshare.com/files/114997569/19202_Kaiser_Rom_folder_for_TNT.kitchen.rar
Credits:
_Alex_ for his kitchen.
Bepe for his all_packages_to_one tool (and ofcourse for every thing he did in the forums).
Nothirills for the base rom.
Thanks for sharing !
Does it include XIP porting too ?

Kaiser still needs manually xip porting, as bepe reported that his tools can't work in kaiser and polaris.
while kaiser always has the latest builds which come already ported, all you need is to extract XIP, ROM and SYS folders and then use the same OEM you want (ofcourse you need relocate modules tool which is in development forum)
in general, you need to have a look into OEM folders in this kitchen to rearrange any new release as the arrangment in this kitchen, so it is easier.
good luck.

Hi,
I'm starting cooking and learning.
I have read and search but this step is really not clear in my head
So excuse me in advance for this question.
So I would like to add some modules (made with resersmode) in an Original OEM Kaiser Rom (eg the NoThrills WM 6.1 WWE) that has been extracted into OEM and SYS folder and XIP using the Kitchen and then rebuild and flash.
- does I need to port something or modify the XIP as this is an original Kaiser XIP ?
- does I need to only copy my new modules to the SYS folder and reallocate all modules using G'Reloc ?
- does is it needed to make something particular with the original XIP (reallocating, ...) when adding modules ?
Thanks in advance.

for kaiser, you have to learn how to port XIP manually.
but if there is a ready kitchen (as linked here) you don't need to do anything, just add and remove the packages in OEM folder.
in case of adding other modules in OEMDrivers, you need to use GReloc which is in development forum and read the comments mentioned there.
I hope that i gave you some of useful informations.
good luck

good luck, I'm sure we will see your touches soon .
please give us the ROM folder. Thanks
The ROM folder is uploaded
The 1st try with this kitchen worked perfectly. I cooked a rom that supports Chinese R/W, adding a lot more OEM packages. The ROM is fast and almost flawless, thanks.
Got the rom folder and did g'relocate and cooked the rom and flashed it, got to the second splash screen and the touch screen froze on "tap to set up your device". However, activesync connected to the phone and i was able to flash a known rom to recover. Any idea what i did wrong? I made no changes to OEM or anything else. Could it have something to do with the touch.dll or such, or maybe i got the slot addresses wrong?

No offense meant and in no way or intention of insulting your intelligence but, have you scan the thread that honcorrd gave 2 posts up? You will find there a working WM6.5 kitchen from trueg together with lots of precious advice on how to start cooking.
If I as a newbie and a wannabe cook may be allowed to give you an advice:
Learn first how to recover from a bricked device. Just in case you mess up cooking
Read, read, read specifically on kitchen threads & cooking. Learn the language of chefs: XIP, SYS, EXT, PRB, OEMXIPKernel, etc.
Check out the Development & Hacking thread and search for kitchen topics specifically for QVGA devices. There are lots of them available
Start cooking a WM6.1 ROM, play with it. You'll learn a lot & faster by trying out things yourself.
It will also be helpful to checkout [PICTORIAL] COOKING YOUR 6.1 ROMS USING ELF(in) HYBRID KITCHEN (kokotas) [ONLINE] by ayyu3m.
I see that you have a Gene as well, If I'm not mistaken I think BesFen has a good thread there about cooking.
Good luck!

I don't know if other chefs have succeeded in using Ervius Visual Kitchen (EVK) to build Elf(in) ROMs. The only visual kitchen we have is as you mentioned - kokotas' Hybrid kitchen.
It works fine even on WM6.5.x but, the process to build ROM using this kitchen is tedious and the built ROM is buggy compared to the non visual B2 & trueg (both kokotas based) kitchens. Why not use those instead at the moment? Both works perfectly alright and quite easy to use.

For a newbie like me best thing to do is:
Follow ayyu3ms pictorial kitchen
Dump an original Elf(in) ROM, not a cooked one. Links are on the original ROM thread
Cook the dumped ROM. It should work
Start replacing the files with the new - target ROM.
Read trueg's post on the kitchen linked by me and honcorrd . I learned a lot from those
Ace your MBBS, no point in learning building ROMs if you don't pass it!
