Hello,
I'm sure there is already a thread for this, but I couldn't find it.
I've managed to break my Display, or rather the glass of the digitizer. Everything works, but I'm tired of the web-spider design.
Replacements are cheap to get, but is it possible to install it by myself?
I'm quite the adventurous type of guy, but without any guide it will be too difficult, right?
Can you post a link for me ? Pictures ??
Many thx
Here u go.Hope it helps.I also need to change the digitizer, but im not sure if I should do it myself.Because I have 0 minutes of experience .Its not broken just badly scratched.

Thanx,
at the same time I also received a pdf copy of the original (confident) HTC manual. I hope with both instructions I will succeed.
(If not, the new Diamond 2 is out)
The Russian Pics are fine, lets see if anything/-one can translate the page

Hello,
unfortunately my prophet did't like the way I fell on him and the screen crashed.. I think, that it's only the touchscreen (if I turn the prophet on, I can see all clearly).
Can someone explain me, who to replace the touchscreen (I could bye one for about 8$ at ebay)? ..Or can you give me a good adress, where I can get it fixed (in Germany..)?
Thanks for help, Dirk
Hi.
First of all, you need to buy a new Touch Screen :
http://cnn.cn/shop/dopod-818828838838pro-touch-screen-p-1292.html
After having removed the 4 screws, I advise you to use a card (e.g. credit card) to slip it along the parts to be removed. It is necessary that you pay attention to the 'Speaker buzzer' which has a very small wire.... be careful not to tear it off !
You can have a look here : http://www.bess.free.fr/qtek9100.pdf
Good Luck. I've done it you can can do it... it is difficult to weld the new screnn !!
Bap
Alright.. thank you, I hope I can do it..
Do I need all the tools? ..where can I get them from?
The LCD is one unit, isn't it? How easy is it to separate the touchscreen from it?
The Prophet is about the same?!
Greets, Dirk
HI.
1/ The Prophet is quite the same
2/ you don't need all the stuff but, you will need a plastic card and the good screw driver (T6)
I think you've broken just the LCD Touch part and not the light background thing so you will have to separate the two parts and changed the LCD Touch screen
Let me know how is it goin'. GD luck,
Bap
Guys;
I cracked my touchscreen while drunk by dropping it on the floor then stepping on it.
It's not bad , just a crack on top of it the touch screen works pretty much but it bothers me.
I found replacements on ebay , there are also originals and there are also ways to repair the cracked glass...
I don't wanna get the chinese counterparts , touchscreen is an important equipment , i don't know but it can delay my writing or something.
The originals are too expensive.
Haven't really tried repairing a cracked glass...
What would you suggest i do and why ?

hi,
i had a big crack on my screen, so that it didnt work at all. similar to your situation i bought a replacement on ebay. however, i wanted to try one of these cheap, non original things at first. 1 week later i had it and after i read the instruction (readable english ) the installation was easy. works fine till now and even if not, you can just send it back

Yes i can send it back but it takes time because i live in Turkey... plus the return shipment is a lot.
So have you had any trouble writing , was it any different from the original touchscreen , was there any latency ?
Was the screen spotless and slippery like original ?
I think with just a little more information i may buy the replacement ones...
Thanks...
i have also cracked screen. i want to change it with cheape one from ebay but also with frame ( front housing) so it is glued together it is little bit easier to change =) for price 32 dollars =)
Hi,
had anybody changed his Screen on a A700 ?
I can't find any guide and I'd prefer to prepare it before disassemblying it.
My screen have been broken, but the LCD is ok, then I'm buying just a digitizer.
If you have any clue or hint to provide, thanks in advance.
Hi laloutre!
That sucks to hear.
Fortunately, I did some research and found the thing you'd want.
On this page you'll find a video in which is explained on how to open up the tablet in big steps.
In the service guide you'll find a complete teardown specifically for the A700, starting at page 5-5.
You can download the service guide from a nice guy who didn't mind to upload it, so please thank him:

When you are done replacing the thing, I'd be happy to hear how it went.
Good luck!

I tried to find such a guide, but there are not so many good resources out there.
Since the A510 is practically the same, but with a less awesome screen (I wonder if you could change the screen of the A510 to a 1900x1200 screen (A700's screen)), you could use that guide to change it.
I read that the LCD and digitalizer are sticked to each other:
- Fused LCD and front panel: The A510’s LCD screen is permanently joined to the front panel with what appears to be a form of thermoplastic staking. This process eliminates the need for screws, but makes it nearly impossible to replace one without replacing the other.

Of course, this might be different on the A700, but I don't expect it to be.
Thanks for the input.
Your last point scares me but I keep some hope as the front screen is sold separately.
For now I'm waiting a few weeks I guess because the screen will come directly from China...
Be sure I'm gonna post my results when the process will be finished.
In the meanwhile, I'm gonna Google again and again...
See ya

Hey guys my screen has been broken brutally.. My younger brother just threw it away!
So the touch doesnt work now but i guess everything else is fine. The volume and power buttons work fine. But the tough or the capactive buttons dont respond.
From what i have researched since the touch and the lcd are glued both will have to be replaced together. So i researched and found an estimate of 65$ for a new digitizer + LCD. Now the problem is even if i order the tough and lcd i dont know how to fix it. I saw the ifixit teardown but dont really understand much since there are no detailed steps in it.
I am not going to repair it myself, will repair it from a local repairer but i am pretty sure around here people dont even know what this phone is, so i dont wanna risk directly handing over it to them. If anyone of you all could guide me with a step by step procedure it would be a greattt help! Please help me guys want a good solution for this precious phone!
P.S i dont wanna send it to Oneplus since only the shipping would cost me around 100$ and 100$ more for the screen replacement.
and please dont advice about how i should have taken better care! I had applied a nilkin tempered glass protector but since it hit the wall at the sides it dint really help!
I should have had a case! </3 i was on my way to buy one
Step 1: Open The Back cover
Step 2. Remove the screws
Step 3: ...... please guide me about how to proceed with detaching the screen.
i would b glad to share one of my sharable invites with you if you help me with it or a video would be just paradise! :good:
I
Where do you found LCD + digitizer for only 65$??
The less expansive i've found is on ali and it's around 125$...
I'm interested too as i broke my oneplus as you did... Except it wasn't my little brother who thrown it away, it was only me letting it down to the floor...
I think, about the procedure shown in ifixit, it is doable fixing the broken screen... It just seems to ask proper tools ans patience... And a heat gun... (Or hair dryer!!)
Procedure?

ifixit doesnt show any procedure.. m pretty sure you dont need to go through the first 19 steps before you an finally dettach the screen. As far as i know most of the steps mentioned in the middle are not required. So i want someone to assist me with the required steps.
heat gun? i dont think its needed that would be needed if the digitzer and lcd were seprate. Since thats not the case it should be even easier. Oh yes we need the right tools but i guess a local repairer would have them anyway. i would just want the procedure so i could guide him since he wont know about the procedure, about this specific device
I got the 65$ one from ali express too,
go to the site and search for oneplus one digitizer. There are a list of options. Cant post links!

I don't think that you will find someone who can help you. You will need detailed instructions and images, and I don't think anyone has documented a thorough disassembly yet. You can check on YouTube, it's been a while since I've checked myself. I did disassemble one of my OnePlus One's a few weeks ago because the motor was malfunctioning, but instead of trying to fix it I simply returned it for a refund.
I just need to know how is the screen attached

i dont wanna know all the steps. I just wanna know how is the screen attached. I think it should over all be pretty standard for all phones. So should not be much stress for a local repairer. And from what i have read when the digitizer + lcd are glued it is a very easy job to replace them together. I just want to be sure from my side that say the screen needs to be attached the same way that a Galaxy S2 display is attached to the phone. Then i can just ask the repairer if he would have known how to repair a GSII.
I really cant ship it back to OPO its gonna be almost as much expensive as buying a new One!

Did you only buy the digitizer? You should have bought the screen and digitizer that are already fused. It is absurdly difficult to take off only digitizer and broken glass cleanly. Believe me, I've been repairing things all my life and this is one of the hardest things to fix.

I haven't bought it yet. But dont worry i will b buying the digitizer and the LCD that are already fused together.
But even attaching to the phone is also kind of a challenge right?
guys,
Anyone please suggest regarding how durable and trustworthy are these digitizer +lcd combo that are available on ebay.in?
Can i purchase them? I broke the screen badly and waiting for a replacement. Found a replacement on ebay.in for apprx 100$. Thats fine with me but need suggestions from users who already tried using these screens...? can i go ahead and get it done from a repair shop?
Hi, is there a tutorial for when you buy the full screen assembly from aliexpress, this one:
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Bran...or-OnePlus-ONE-free-shipping/32261491537.html
And dont need to do all the heating/separating stuff? Planning on replacing my broken OPO screen tonight but I cannot find a single tutorial that doesn't completely disassemble the phone into its component parts then goes messing around with the hot air gun like this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/repair-guide-oneplus-one-disassembly-t2979351
Anybody know what Im talking about? I just want to swap the screens...
With the way the phone is designed, especially how the connectors connect to the motherboard, I'm afraid there isn't an easier way of replacing the screen. But that's not to say replacing the screen yourself is difficult, there are many videos that explain what to do:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRQW666skQQ this is the one I found most useful, and helped me replace my screen.
If you don't feel confident enough to replace it yourself, for the peace of mind it may be worth paying someone else to do it.
