Hi,
I have a TyTn II (or Vario 3 if you prefer) from T-Mobile, the only software running on it that interacts with SMS would be SPB mobile shell 2. Recently though I have found that my SMS seems to freeze. I go to the SMS screen, with my list of SMS messages, and whilst I can hold-click on a message to delete it, as soon as I try and open it the whole SMS screen appears to freeze, even pressing the X doesn't work. I have to go to Start > Today, and from there use Task manager to close it down.
Is there any thing I can do to reset the SMS portion of the system? I have tried a soft reset, but that didn't work, but am reluctant to do a Hard reset, as there are a few apps I don't want to lose data from.

So I received a phone call and decided to ignore the call with a sms. Well the phone app freezes, so i go start>messaging>write a new sms and sent it out. Now the hang up key wont shut the screen off! the only way for me to do it is to press opt+hang up or just wait for the backlight to turn off! i've soft resetted and pulled out the battery!!
should I hard reset?
did you install any new apps recently? my keyguard did the samething when I installed the msgled app.
recently no, but week ago or so I did. HSDPA cab hack, HTweak 2.1, opera 8.65, mini mo, spb alarm clock, and verichat.
ultimately I hard reseted the phone and all is well again...short of setting up my email and the programs. Did not install spb alarm clock and mini mo. hopefully it wont do it again!
thanks for the reply!
i'm looking for a way to have the touchscreen on my smartphone disabled when a call comes in. I usualy have the phone in my pocket. When a call comes in and i'm taking the phone out my pocket, i accidentely touch the screen. And that's mostly not in the "accept" spot off the screen
So i would like to accept or decline the call by pressing the hardware keys only with the touchscreen disabled.
Been searching the forums and googled my way over the internet. Without luck so far.
Any ideas?
regards, Jeen
S2U2 uses a slide to answer feature, very nice.
Installed s2u2 and it sure looked great... until the first soft reset (after nightly backup). After the soft reset the phone freezes every time a call comes in, having to soft reset again. Whenever a call comes in (when phone is locked or switched off) the normal s2u2 lock screen pops up without the call notification and that's it. Phone freezes and soft or hardware keys don't work anymore.
I even uninstalled SPB Mobile Shell to see if that was conflicting with s2u2. No luck.
Couldn't get rid of this problem so i uninstalled s2u2. Shame, i liked it...
Any other options to answer my original question?
regards Jeen
Ok so this morning I go to backup my phone since I haven't done it in 4 months. (I'm running an AT&T Tilt)
I open up the Sprite Backup program and set it to back up the phone. It restarts the phone (as usual) and begins the backup process on startup. Then, when it finishes, it restarts again but it won't boot up. It goes to a white error screen that says something along the lines of "A program with an unsigned cab has been installed" or something like that and says to "press the SEND button to reset the phone or any other button to cancel. This operation will delete all of your personal data and reset the phone to factory settings."
Uh-oh, I thought... So I hit another button because I don't want to lose all of my personal data. It stayed on the white AT&T screen with the R, G, and D numbers on the bottom right corner.
After resetting and taking out the battery and resetting again, nothing changed. So I popped the microSD card into my computer to see if SpriteBackup actually finished backing up the system. Hey! It was there, about 62MB in size and it was a whole file (no corruption), with today's date and the time that I backed it up. So I said, alright, let me just turn on the phone, press the SEND button to reset it, and then just restore the Backup file with SpriteBackup. I did it and it restored it, but after rebooting, the initial configuration screen for the phone kicks in again (the one that comes up when you first buy the phone) and it reinstalls the "stock" programs and settings.
Almost everything is back to normal, except:
I'm missing some contacts that I've added within the past 3 months.
I'm missing some text/MMS messages since May 19th...
In the "Remove Programs" windows, there are only 5 programs installed, the ones that come stock with the phone.
Does anyone know a solution? Or if there's a way to transfer my contacts/messages out of the SpriteBackup file to my computer, i might as well just wipe my phone clean, install an updated rom, and start from scratch.
All I need are all my contacts and my messages. Does anyone know where they are located?
Thanks in advance..
This just happened maybe a couple of minutes ago. My phone while I was in my text message screen where I can see all my text messages. So I had to restart.
I turn my phone back on and every time I go to the SMS tab, my Touch Flo 3D reloads. Same thing with Email. I tried accessing it through my actions button at the bottom and nothing happens.
On top of that. I even tried disabling my Touch Flo 3D and run titanium, and titanium won't even come up.
I saw something online about deleting the inbox folder on my SD card, but I couldn't find it. So I took my card out and I still got nothing.
Anyone have a solution for this?! =(
on top of that, I can't look at any of the contact information in touch flo 3d mode.
Hello,
My LG GM750 (with stock WM6.5) doesn't ring anymore, nor does it vibrate when set to "ring and vibrate" - it vibrates though when I set it to vibrate only. Reminders don't ring/vibrate either. G-alarm pops up an error message that the sound file cannot be played. WMPlayer does not even start. When I try to make settings in Wireless Manager / Phone Settings, the OK button in the corner of the screen does not work (the settings window just stays on the screen).
During phone calls everything is ok and other applications can play sounds.
I have installed quite a lot of applications, but everything worked just fine for at least one month, then it suddenly stopped ringing: G-Alarm, SPB Mobile Shell, mRing, S2U2 (with caller ID) etc.
The same problem happened to me some time ago and the only way I could fix it was by doing a hard reset (soft reset is useless).
Any ideas on how would I be able to fix it this time without performing a hard reset and taking it all over from the beginning and hoping it will not happen again?
Thank you!
