help me to regain my ime number - HTC Vox

i own an htc s710.recently i flashed it with neo rom and it works very pretty.but today i compared the ime of my phone/in the back of battery/and displayed by the software in the settings.these are different.may it cause security problem?.and can i regain it.pls pls help me....
thanking you

IMEI is not changed by flashing - possibly the last 2 digits indicating SW Version. Depending on where you got your device from, the previsous owner may have replaced the main PBA with another one.

tobbbie you are right.only the last two figures are changed.thank you for you great advice.and i think it wil not cause a security problem

Camera not initializing

Hi,
Since today I have a new problem - when trying to start the camera by pressing the camera button or via rograms I got the message "Unable to initialize camera. Failed to set up the camera device."
I have the original ROM, nothing modified. Some days ago I was making pictures with the phone, worked well. I have not installed any programs since then.
Any ideas for workaround?
Also sorry if I'm repeating another thread, tried to search but found nothing.
Thanks,
Boyan
Guys, am I the only one who has experienced this???
Yeah I haven't had this issue before. Have you tried a soft-reset? Maybe a backup of your ROM when the camera used to work? As a last resort, I hate to say it but you could always try a hard-reset?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=375474&highlight=CAMERA
I have the same problem
Exactly the same behaviour
when I try to start the camera I get an error box (rotated) with white square : " camera
impossible to initialize the camera.Failure of camera peripheral configuration"
it was working OK 10 days ago and I didn't change anything from this date except making a sprite backup.
Loading a 1 month backup didn't help neither a full hard reset (same behaviour just after the hard reset)
Looks like a harware failure, Ilook for a hardware test software for the camera ????
Trying to solve, I looked at the camera launching process, I've found a link like:
_camera.lnk
that contains:
21#"\Windows\Camera.exe" ?CameraRc_Grey.dll,-1106
any idea if that is normal content, looks curious for a link especially the interrogation point mark?
What about the -1106 figure ?
Is it possible that this link being corrupted ?
Otherwise, I phone to HTC technical support and the fact that the error stays just after a hard reset lead to think its a hardware failure; however loks teribly like a software pb....or a dry soldering point? They told me to bring the phone to a fixing office in Paris area delay announced to repair between 1 and 7 days
Any other help welcomed
problem disappear
hi rvgpoi,
the good news are that the problem disappear, the bad news are that I have no idea why...
I have not made hard reset (in fact, never), just couple of soft resets... but after that the camera was NOT working... couple of days later, i just wanted to show the problem to a friend of mine - and it was working...
I'm pretty pissed from HTC support - I have mailed them for this problem, and still no answer (1 week). This is not acceptable for a decent company.
In order to try to see where the problem is - can you tell me how to look at that:
_camera.lnk
that contains:
21#"\Windows\Camera.exe" ?CameraRc_Grey.dll,-1106
to see what is the value (while camera working)...
Good luck with your camera
Yes, same for me.
I am using Start->Program --> Camera.
I think that we should wait HTC support center for this problem.
Camera fails to initialize
Hello all,
I have the same problem exactly. I have the device for 6 weeks. Camera worked for two weeks. Stopped working for a week and then returned for a few days then failed again with the same message you guys got. I have done a number of hard resets- does not help. I am in a country with NO HTC service center and sending it to Europe will deprive me of my only phone for a long time. HTC Europe has NOT replied to my email from 3 weeks ago.
Any ideas? Rom update-if exists? Reinstall Rom? Any other ideas???
Jeremy
Solution, maybe
Guys,
my camera suddenly started to work again, I was extremly happy, activated GPS photo, took some pictures with coordinates, when i tried the camera later that day - it did not worked again. restarts, resets - nothing helped.
the next day I took out the battery for 10-15 minutes - and when I put it back, the camera worked!!!
Today the camera is not working again - and currently my battery is out. Let's see what will be the result.
Good hunting
Camera fails to initialize
I should have mentioned other problems that might be releavant- Bleutooth does not turn on from the momeent I purchased, touch pad is sometimes very slow for initial reaction. I have NO added programs beyond manafacturer originals.
Same problem...
Hi,
I'm a newbie, I didn't think that there was a so big and interesting forum about pdas and, especially, for my htc polaris...
I've got the same problem with the cam...
When I turn on the device, cam works fine...
After a while, it continue working...
After some hours, it stops working.
I have a full original firmware on it:
ROM: 1.25.408.1 12/12/2007
Radio: 1.58.21.23
Proto: 26.65.30.04H
I also tried to contact support, but with no responses, at the moment...
I also searched for a original upgrade (for the warranty), but nothing...
I think the problem is in apmd (or similar else) os daemon.
I think the os turn off cam device for power savings, and after it is not able to restart it before launch camera.exe program, that returns that strange message...
I searched in registry with ceregeditor if it is possible to disable power saving for a single device, to make a test, but I'm not a so good mobile engineer.
A newbie question:
The upgrade WM 6.1 bepe 0.67 can resolve this problem?
And again: if I upgrade anyway, I lose my warranty?
Camera fails to initialize
I called up the UK support center. After going over the problem with them I was told to return the device for servicing. Seems they will have to do a new Flash Rom. Two weeks without the device at least and I have to pay for international courier.
the problem still stays... this time removing the battery didn't help.So I'm again camera-less. Still no reply from HTC.
I'm also with original firmware:
ROM: 1.25.405.1 12/12/2007
Radio: 1.58.21.23
Proto: 26.65.30.04H
as you see the rom is different, same problem. In my case turning off the device does not help - the camera is not working even after switching it back on.
Are you able to deactivate power savings for cam?
Another think:
Your rom version is older than mine,
Perhaps a new rom version resolve the problem,
but is not original version, and we should ask to cooked new rom developer if they have found something wrong in cam device apmd functions...
I have the same problem, but for my TC it is simply resolved by doing a soft-reset and starting the camera after it's ready..
still annoying though..
same problem here,
sometimes cam will work but it to often will not. :/
sure ift the cam even dont in factory default config (hard reset) it is broken.
I got longest working duration in factory default, approx one to two weeks.
using third party binaries the failure appears randomly.
Im pretty sure this is a software issue, else a soft rest wont fix it, eh ?!
workaround:
one but very poor solution is, once the cam starts, _never_ quit it, just minimize.
yep, I know ... but the only way I found atm.
// update //
approx one day without any probs and I used nearly every feature of my device....
Im not familiar with the CCD chip technology, I dont know if there is any possibility for burn-in effects, therefore I switched to the front cam for "stand by" and got the good old failed to ini ... error immediately when I tried to switch back to the rear cam.
now I will test if the front cam is got the same error ...
and I'll get some info if 24/7 on can harm the ccd chip
// update //
I have my cam now approx one week always on and have no problems at all.
I have got no news about cam.
I called htc support, they told me to install a fix for camera that I found in htc e-club.
But that fix is not for our problems, is for camera quality.
I installed it but the problem still remain.
Sometimes it goes, sometimes no...
try that :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=391455
don't work
The sd memory isn't a solution,
because I have 1985MB free of 2GB.
If you soft-reset and don't work again,
Take the pda off without the battery for some minutes.
The cam will works again,
but after some time goes down again!!!

Flashed Touch HD has dementia?

Hi,
I've searched for this, but got no-where. Tried searching phone settings too, but no luck.
Summary: My phone thinks it has my old number (07854xxx) not the one I ported to (07736xxx) months ago - is it losing it's memory? . I'm guessing brain surgery might be required - but where do I find the number?
I'd be glad if someone could point me in the right direction.
Here's the detail:
I've recently flashed my ROM with 'Dutty's SENSE 2.1 HG R0 WWE' (which has turned my dull stock block into a smooth responsive machine - I'll be sending some 'appreciation' later on). I don't think that caused this though.
The only software installed since is Yomomedia, found out about it on this site- thanks.
My problem is that Yomomedia uses my mobile/cell phone number to identify itself with the phone. I've installed Yomomedia 3 times now, once after a (unconnected) hard reset (EDIT: I hadn't used Yomomedia before flashing, or noticed the problem). Each time it identifies my handset with it's old number (07854xxxxxx), when I ported a few months ago to the new one. I haven't told Yomomedia about the old number, and the phone has been flashed since I ported. I guess the old number is hidden in persistent memory somewhere.
Where is my phone storing this number? Can I change it?
I can't use Yomomedia to it's best advantage if I can't associate it with my actual phone number, plus once someone else gets the old number, Yomomedia's to be annoying them with text messages...
If anyone can advise, it would be very useful.
Jon

Duplicate text Samsung Galaxy i5500 / 5 / Europa

Hi all,
Thought i'd post my findings here rather than muddled in to the other i5500 thread (will this phone get it's own device area?).
This is what worked for me and may hopefully help others to do the same. Please post here if this works for you also.
I bought an unlocked, unbranded Samsung Galaxy Europa for my girlfriend for christmas.
It is being used on a Tesco mobile prepay sim (uses O2 network).
It immediately had this duplicate text issue from some contacts, where duplicates of the same text would come in at random times, and some messages did not come through at all. A few googles later shows it is quite a common problem for O2 / Tesco users.
The phone also had a faulty sync / charging port so it was returned.
The next phone seemed fine until I made the mistake of updating to the latest firmware through Kies (the previous handset was already up to date). The duplicate text issue returned to the new handset which pretty much made it un-usable.
I dug around on the interwebs and the only fix I could find seemed to be a factory reset, but this didn't solve the problem for me.
I wanted to roll back the firmware via Kies but couldn't get this to work after trying to modify the registry. Hopefully someone can update here if they work out how to roll back to previous official updates via Kies. To be honest, I don't think Kies is any safer than flashing firmware via Odin.
I have tried out a number of firmwares from samfirmware.com and have found a couple that don't seem to have the duplicate text issue and others that do. The froyo update is just ugly and also seemed to have the duplicate text issue. Hopefully someone will release a custom froyo rom as Samsung seem to have made a mess of it!
*********
What worked for me:
I used 'Odin' to flash the firmware 'I5500XWJG9' and followed the instructions on page 1 of this thread to do so: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=781149#
The firmware I settled on is 'I5500XWJG9'. It's a European firmware but not a UK one so you need to change the default language and set up your APN in order to get your internet and MMS working. This is acceptable if it resolves the text issue I think.
After updating you may recieve the last few of your duplicate texts or some that you never received previously.
Something strange I noticed was that the message centre number seems to be incorrect (for tesco mobile anyway) or the menu to display or change it does not work correctly.
If you enter *#*#4636#*#* on the dialler and go to phone information and scroll down, you will see 'SMSC'. Click 'Refresh' and it should display your service centre number. You should also be able to update it but it doesn't work on this phone. I suspect this may be something to do with the problem but texts seem to work on this firmware anyway.
Bah, we had a few duplicate texts after a week. Not as bad as before it would seem but still there. How annoying!
Hi using a Samsung Europa on Giffgaff (o2 derivative) and using the originally provided usb link cable. It used to work, but the first time I plugged it in, the language was set in german for a joke, and I got very confused about Kies and said 'No don't do that' - now my PC doesn't seem to want to know about my phone no matter which usb socket I plug it in. I have it in download mode right now and Odin can't find it at all.
Any thoughts - this repetitive text issue is driving me up the wall (x100 copies of the same text over a week and all my other non-O2 messages getting stuck!) ?

Samsung IMEI missing

Hi all, after being screwed over by The Android Doctor, a remote network unlocking site (they messed with my IMEI leaving me unable to make/receive calls/texts or use mobile data), and pulling my hair out, trying how to get round their malicious behaviour without having to spend out more money, I stunbled across another thread on this web site with one out of many solutions. (This may well be the most full proof though). The original post referred to a Galaxy S3 and was posted by Nev of Innsbruck, Austria on 4 November 2015.
Well my problem referred to a Galaxy S5, but as Nev rightly said if you download and fire up Samsung Kies, head for tools and select firmware upgrade and initialisation before connecting your phone, Kies will ask for your model number and serial number and then download all the various files it needs to reset your phone to original factory conditions but with the latest firmware for that particular model/serial number. From there on it's just a question of following the on-screen prompts, and stand back in amazement when normality is restored once again. Initially I thought this would undo the network unlock I paid for, but nope my phone is still unlocked, but fully usuable once again. This will obviously not work for a black listed IMEI phone. I have started this new thread in the hope of getting this answer out there, as finding a actual solution that worked, was like looking for a needle in a hay stack...

{CLOSED} Procedure For Restoring My LG Velvet 5g (Model LMG900UM / AT&T Variant) To Factory State

Hi,
A few day's ago I purchased this phone that's virtually like new condition, I bought it from a reputable store on ebay that offers a free 30 day return policy along with a one year warranty. Currently I'm having an issue that I've never faced before, I'm unable to make or receive phone calls, but I'm able to send & receive text messages. So far I've tried the following to try & correct my issue: performed a network reset, performed a factory reset, & at least one additional procedure that due to my age I can't seem to remember @ this moment. My mobile data provider (red pocket mobile) quite frankly is totally confused as to why this issue is happening. I'm hoping that someone in here might be able to provide a solution to my issue. When I attempt to place a phone call, the number never actually gets dialed, & after at the most two seconds I'm taken to a different screen where I receive a notice that states 'call ended'.
Thanks,
David
Did you try updating the apn settings?
Hi,
Thanks so much for your reply, that's one of the first things that I've tried along with performing at least a couple factory resets. Just for your reference, I'm including a link to the phone that I purchased: https://www.ebay.com/itm/203677739011?var=504106127606 In the description of the phone it lists the model # as this: LMG900TM but in the phone settings area under the 'about phone' heading it lists the model # as LMG900UM which does appear on the at&t 'whitelist' of approved unlocked phones that will still work on their network after the current 3g shutdown is finally completed.
