Help with NET compact - General Questions and Answers

I am trying to download some apps to my Fuze. There are a lot of them that call for the NET compact 3.5. I downloaded the NET. c directly onto my phone but when I went to open and install it said that this is not a program for windows mobile. I'm new to this and would appreciate any help. What do I need to do? I tried installing the NET. c on to my computer but it didn't do anything either. Thank you for your help.

Is it possible that these are installers you're supposed to run from your computer and they finish their install over an activesync connection?
It might help if you let us know which apps you're trying to install and where you got them from (non-pirated of course).

You need the rigth cab http://www.4shared.com/file/70602905/58d46ffa/NETCFv35wmarmv4i.html

Thank you for replying. I tried to do searches but I kept timing out on the xda website (dial-up only in my area), so I looked on the net. All I could find was a download from microsoft. For some reason I am also having trouble with my active sync. The disk that came with my phone says it needs the new adobe flash player which I have but it won't read, it's having problems with vista. So because of these problems I need to download directly to my phone I guess. The download NET c from microsoft was the one that said it wasn't for windows mobile.
I am just trying to load some different apps to my Fuze for more usablility, games like scobble, a ram cleaner things like that. Nothing pirated for sure, but most I find if not all need the new NET to work.
Any help or ideas would be much appreciated, thanks again.

Thanks araponga I will give that a try.

Call for WM6.1 with working BB Connect

XDA users, If this is appropiate please let it ride; if not mods please delete. Keeping it simple and to the point. I have tried several of the WM6.1 ROMs however, none seem to work with Blackberry Connect. Please list your ROM if you have blackberry connect working? As well as the version of BB Connect.
Thanks,
CP
Hello i dont have an answer to your question, sorry! in fact have a question for you instead i removed the bloatware from my tilt and now cant find BBconnect software anywhere i reallly dont want to have to put all the bloatware back on just so i can get BBconnect. Is there somewhere I can download BBconnect? I tried the link in one of the posts here but it sent me to the HTC site where they explained how to install but there wasnt anywhere to actually get the software. If you have any suggestions please let me know. Thanks good luck! maybe i should have just stayed with BB???

How To Enable BBC CONNECT TO THIS ROM
Install instructions:
1) goto hklm>system>versions and change what ever is there to .0.4.2 (The leading . before the 0 needs to be there)
2) Install bbconnect cab file.
3) If you don't get the check boxes at the end of the install (Calendar, notes, etc). Re-run the install (it will remove the 1st instance), I always get it the second time.
4) Wait for Blackberry to finish "setting up device for first use" and let it reboot.
5) On reboot, status will now show the PIN number.
6) Open the Blackberry connect desktop application. (Make sure you have access to your corporate e-mail) If you do you will see "Configure Wireless Device" as active.
7) Plug in the Tilt and wait for Activsync to finish syncing and says "connected".
8) In the BB Connect desktop application hit the "Configure Wireless"
9) When finished unplug Tilt and soft reset.
10) You should be good to go at this point.
thanks austin!
did that & able to use it now. i was about to use the search when i saw this thread. saved me some time.

ARGH!!!! I need help

Okay, I have read so many threads on here my head is spinning. I have tried 30 different things and nothing is working.....I just bought my first WM6 phone it is an HTC Mogul 6800. I am trying to get Goodlink running on it but everytime it goes to install it freezes at 0% downloaded. I have read about others having this issue and how they were able to get around it via installing Opera Mini and setting it as the default browser.
Well I was able to get it installed but not as the default. I followed these links http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1740111&postcount=17 but these are not "cab" files and I cannot get them to run on my phone. For example, when I click on the autorun I get an error that say you have to run this from iside the application that you want to assign it to....What?
My basic question is I need help, and when I say help I need step by step help on how to get Goodlink running smoothly on my HTC Mogul. I would greatly appreciate any help any one can give.

Remote Connection

Hi guys,
I've flashed my phone with the .405 euro firmware however seem to have lost remote desktop, does anyone know where this will be or how I can find the cab and reinstall it?
Many thanks.
You have this one:-
http://www.koushikdutta.com/search/label/Omnipresence
or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425627&highlight=remote+desktop
but i haven't tried either yet.
Let me know how you get on plz
ta m8,
The real windows remote desktop is definitely best because windows will scale all your windows and is really responsive, however you may have concurrent login issues if you try to use your pc at the same time!
The other is more like VNC where you view an existing login, however that then begs the question why not use a mobile VNC program as it's well established and more supported. I'd say the good thing about omnipresence is it attempts to use touchflow navigation concepts but at the moment the response is slow, could be good in the future though.

That might explain, that when I try and remote onto my PC it tells me the UN or PW is incorrect. (I know it isn't).. Is this because I'm logged in?
It should log you out on your pc when you try to connect i think

How did you have to hack Vista plz.. I'm also using that OS, so might be the same problem?
I'm useing RDM+ instead from Shape service.
Much simpler and no need to configure and firewalls.. downside is that it aint free. But then again it's a one time fee, all other upgrades are free.
lots of functions too like file upload and download. And the person that is online dosen't get log out.
Imo it's a really good application.
Again either using RDT or Logmein.com , It says user name or password incorrect.
I know its not, coz thats what I use to log into the system!!!
Any ideas, this is a real puzzler1

Pantech Duo C810?

Well, I recently purchased and Pantech C810 and I am starting to regret it
I have been reading a little on this forum and looking back at the games, apps, and emulators. I have yet to get most freeware work.
Are their any REAL reviews on this phone?
The mobile Facebook app and Youtube app is fine, also Gmail is working as IMAP...but I can't find any games that work. Google Latitude is, well, it won't find my location at all.
All of them pop up as "this app is not for this device", or something like that.
Are there any NES or SNES emu's that will work w/ this phone? Hell...and games at all????
Please help a frustrated "Smart-Phone" owner

You may need to security unlock ur phone before u run unsigned or self-signed apps, then all should work ok. I am not sure how to unlock a pantech, but try these 3 files attached in the zip file, in the order the files are numbered, 1 then 2 then 3, reboot. If that doesn't work, you need to google it. Just a note Security/App Unlock is NOT the same as GSM/Carrier Unlock.

unzip all 3, copy all to the root for phone "\" via ActiveSync or Windws Mobile Center if its Vista u have, run from 1 to 3 on the phone itself.
Alternatively u can try running the below file if the above doesnt work, this one u run it from ur desktop while the phone is connected. For me the above method is better as it also install the certificates required by some self-signed apps.
I tried the things you said above.
When I do #1 and #3 on my phone, I get a message that says "Change of device settings unsuccessful"...."The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions".
#2 Just opens up the web browser to a bunch of code.
The program you posted says they phone is unlocked when I run it, but when I try to install an Emu (like PocketNester) the my laptop prompts me to check phone for additional step...the phone says "The installation file is not intended for this device".
What is going on w/ this phone?
Here are the programs I am trying to put on my phone:

Those are for PocketPC NOT Smartphone, most PPC Apps will refuse to install on Smartphones.
Also when u get "The installation file is not intended for this device". it means ur trying to either install PocketPC apps or apps made for diffrent CPU Architecture.
It seems u want SNES emulator, try installing the latest ver from here http://www.modaco.com/content/smartphone-software-games/237589/pocketsnes-1-53/ the guy says it works on Smartphones. If u still get that error, it is a CPU thing. Also try installing something for Smartphone see if it works or ur phone is still security locked.
wow...i'm a moron.
I just found another copy of Pocket Nester Plus and got it up and running before I checked back on this thread. I guess that program you gave me did unlock the phone, thanks.
I will try that SNES emu you posted also.
thanks a million.

[Q] Say what? Wi-fi internet sharing for Windows Mobile 6.5?

Hi everyone. I've been hearing mention of some sort of Internet Sharing application or addon to the comm manager, that would allow me to turn my phone into some sort of hub. I'd like to be able to use my phone's connection with my iPod Touch, (or perhaps, other devices), so my searching is what has lead me here.
However, I don't really know what the "defacto" modification is for getting this capability. I've seen several threads already. Also, they seem to lack in documentation. They come in cab files - would that mean I can just download and install from my phone right away?
So if anyone can recommend me a wifi sharing app, (preferably for the HTC Ozone), I would be very grateful.

Auugghh. The website logged me out, so I lost my entire post
Anyhow, I'll try and re-write what I had last time:
So I'd like to use 0.9.1, since it seems to be the last free version. I downloaded it and installed it ok, but I have no idea how to use it past that. Could you possibly link me to a guide, or detail it in here?
Well, I gave in at the airport and just downloaded the trial.
Very nice. I'm so glad that I can use a browser that was a least half thought out (safari mobile) rather than that Intermet explorer. What a waste of my unlimited data plan that would have been.
Although, I'd like to be able to use that free version of WMWifi if I could. So does anyone happen to have a guide for it?
