Hi experts,
I have been using on a HTC Excalibur the WM6.1 (non-touch smartphone edition) today screen with great satisfaction.
I liked the design and the clear organisation of this today screen.
I now moved to a touch device with also WM6.1, but really miss my good old non-touch "today" screen. The touch version is completely different and IMHO less well organized.
Do you know, if there is a solution existing to retrieve this today screen from the old device to run it on the new one instead of the touch versions and the modified HTC flavors of it?
Thank you for your advice...

i have a simple questio why all ROM cooker`s make only wm6 and wm6.1 professional instead of improving the standard one wich was made for smartphones non touchscreen? The wm6 and wm6.1 pro are to hard to use because HTC Tornado doesn`t have touch screen..why all of you try to improve the pro version instead of the standard one?
Because 6.1 Professional has a lot more options and is a lot more powerful in general. I encourage you to get hold of a Wizard or Hermes or TyTN or one of HTC's touchscreen PDA phones with 6.1 Pro on it (I have a friend who owns a Wizard that I play with once in a while) and try it out.
If they can get 6.1Pro to work on a Smartphone, I can see how a lot of people would want it.
Of course, on a personal level, I've tried one of the 6.1Pro ROMs currently available for the Tornado and, honestly, I don't like it. It's got a lot of stuff that I want, but the interface just doesn't seem to work for me. I can't find my way around, can't figure out the button layout. If there was a 6.1 Standard that had all the options and capabilities of 6.1Pro, or if there was a 6.1Pro with a 6.1Standard interface, I'd be ALL FOR IT.
In any case, there's at least one person working on a 6.1 Standard for us Tornado users - GnatGoSplat has an *excellent* 6.1 Standard ROM that's been available for quite some time and, we're hoping, will be updated in the near future. GnatGoSplat rules.

I'm with you on this mate... Pro is for touch screen devices. Why the heck would anyone want that on a non-touch screen device? I have an HTC Touch running GnatGoSplats WM6.1 Pro - brilliant... I also have a Tornado running Gregory's WM6 Neo - also brillianr, but I wouldn't want anOS designed for a completely different kind of device on my Tornado no matter how good Pro is! Leave Pro with the touch screen devices, THAT'S WHAT IT'S FOR!!!

Why am I posting things twice? I must have got carried away with my ranting.... sorry!
pro versoon for smartphone rocks
yes but pro isn`t for non touchscreen devices...in my opinion for HTC Tornado make wm6.1 or wm6 better and do not try to make the pro version better...
Hello everyone, I was wondering if there wil be a release (ROM or APP) either from HTC or from xda devs that will contain the new touch flo 3D from touch pro2 for the raphael. Is this possible? I believe that the screen difference is a great issue, however the new tf3D is great i think. I know there are some apps from the new diamond but some don't work well and they don;t create the same tf3D environment with touch pro2. Thanks for the answers.
XBmod and his group have been working on it for a month, they are almost done. ENRGZ28 has a rom with it now, it is in beta. Look in the rom development section and you will find plenty of threads to read and enjoy. It is awesome.
Hi guys, having owned a Touch HD for some time I'm used to the issues, the support (thanks to this website) and the flexibility to flash, cook, etc.
I've been offered an upgrade but I'm not sure what to get. I like my TomTom7 on my phone (therefore Android is out....unless you can now install). Any of you have recommendations on what to stay away from and consider?
Touch 2, Diamond, Hero (if it can be flashed to WM6.1)?
Any thoughs are appreciated.
Thanks
You can't flash the Hero with WM at the moment.
Why the loyalty to TomTom after thier appalling lack of loyalty to PDA users?
Co-Polit is on Android and is an excellent app.
I love my Hero.
If you are coming form HD I ssume that you are not interested in harware keyboard devices, so I would recommend:
Toshiba TG01
Diamond 2
And if you want to have Android go for Hero
At the end of the year great devices will be presented, so if there´s no rush perhaps it´s better to wait.
If interested in harware keyboard devices, then take a good close look at the Touch Pro 2. In fact, I'm getting it for the tilt & many oter progressive features and really don't have to have a keyboard.
I would wait for HTC Leo before making a bad decision
WOOOOOOW...didn't know about the Leo.
My choice is suddently so clear!!
Thanks guys
Hi there.
I'm new to this room's world, i'm searching for the last few hours, what's the benefit to put a wm 6.5 rom in my htc touch cruise p3650, but, i'm finding it kinda confusing...
I'm asking your opinion, if it's any good to get rid of wm6.1 and try one of those rooms...
And what's the room that i should install?
is there any Step by Step tutorial for the htc touch cruise p3650 room install?
ty guys
Sorry for any "bad English" i'm from Portugal BTW.
Welcome to the forums!
The are some advantages, but also some disadvantages:
+ Flex scrolling (pretty smooth I think)
+ New UI (called Titanium)
+ Memory enhanced, however:
- Slower
There isn't much changed.
You can however go for 6.5.3.
This features a more graphical UI which does work a lot better with your finger, so touch friendly.
Just try a few roms to see if one fits your needs!
I bought a fabulous android device, and I'd like to give my old Htc touch Viva to my father BUT WM 6.1 original is not accessible to a 60 years old man.. the font is too small, buttons are small the interface isn't intuitive and so on..
My simple question is:
Is there a ROM that fits my needs? in other words: is there a ROM for old people that could be installed on my old phone?
