How can I open all URL shortcuts with Opera? - General Questions and Answers

Hey,
even though Opera is configured to be my default browser, there are still some shortcuts that are opened only via IE and not Opera. For example shortcuts from outlook e-mails and I-nigma.
Is there any way to change that?
Thanks.

Setting the default web browser

Is there any tool that can set any executable file as default web browser (open html files, handle http)?
I need to do this from time to time and I'm always forgetting some registry entries.
(Or is there any way how to quickly set the latest builds of Opera 9.5 as default browser?)

[FIXED] Restore association of e-mail links to Opera

Hi,
I installed the Skyfire beta, saw it didn't work and uninstalled it again.
But now when I tap on a link in an e-mail, instead of going to Opera, it is opened in Pocket Internet Explorer (yuck!). I've already checked the file associations with SKtools and they were still set to Opera. Don't know what to do next.
So: can anyone help me restore the association of e-mail links to Opera? Thanks in advance...
Edit: never mind, fixed it by delving into the registry myself and replacing the association references to iexplore.exe by the corrent Opera one.

Bookmarks into opera mini

Well, here's what you can do...
1. Sync (export) the bookmarks from your default browser using any 3rd party sync app - there are many available.
2. Transfer (import) the bookmarks to your PC's browser - if you have opera browser on your PC, its a lot easier. Else, install opera browser and sync the bookmarks which you had exported using the 3rd party app.
3. Once done, you will need to setup "Opera Link" sync - it's a simple registration.
4. Once the sync is complete, your bookmarks will remain on operas' servers
5. Open Opera Mini, go to settings, enable "Opera Link"
6. Login with your username/password.
7. Opera Mini bookmarks will be synced with your PC bookmarks.
If there is a simpler method, others can pls feel free to suggest. AFAIK there are some apps which help in importing apps from Chrome browser to the default Android browser but I have never used the apps.
Alright. It will be a couple of weeks until I can try it but ill give it a go and see what happens

[Q] (Android) Make shortcut to URL in another browser ?

Android allows bookmark shortcuts to the default browser (called 'Internet') and Dolphiin.
But Firefox and Opera do not.
Is there a way to create a shortcut to a URL to be opened in Firefox of Opera ?
Or, more generally, create a shortcut to an app with an argument, e.g. a PDF viewer app with a particular PDF file ?
In the 'Make Shortcut !' app I could not find a solution.

No, unless the developers of the browsers do it.

Not like that, but Boat Browser and Dolphin both have tabs that you can customize with shortcuts. Dolphin allows 10 and Boat allows 30.
Also in dolphin browser you can create a folder in your bookmarks and name it bookmark toolbar and access it with just a swipe of your finger. Also dolphin browser has a addon called Bookmarks to SD that allows you to import and export bookmarks to and from an html file to and from dolphin browser and the stock browser. I took my bookmarks from my laptop of firefox and chrome saved them to html files then imported them into firefox to organize and clean them up getting rid of duplicates and then imported the cleaned bookmarks into dolphin browser and the stock browser so I have the same bookmarks all across the board. There are a few glitchs but for the most part the concept works.
thanks for the replies... shame that but il try your way and see hwo i get on
