Soo guess I'll be first to ask about what you mean by 'real'? If this is the real one, then what exactly is this latest octaivoi OS that came out a few days back? Just wondering if I need to reflash again

Yes because the imageinfo.bin and imageinfo.txt only tell the kernel (OS) what the drivers should do and when you install a 3dr party app it will make a call for something inside the dll but there is no dll so the app will not work as it should and in worst case will not work at all. the same happens if you use a compressed dll or exe they will run but if an app calles for something thats squesed out it wan't work... this is this biggest source for bugs
OCTAIVOI's kitchen rom has the same problem
btw, for those who want to beta test it.. its already release in public.. see my post in sticky thread..
@gullum
its the same with or without.. if you encode the rom, the kitchen itself will remove the dll only the module..
i havent include the recmod.exe in decompiling the rom.
But its fine dont worry
There's a new Official HTC Magic update located here:
http://www.htc.com/europe/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=267&cat=2&dl_id=633
Here's the info on the page:
Improved Functions
1. Google Maps has been updated to version 3.1.1.
2. Setup Wizard has been updated to load all privacy policies and Google Terms of Service from the network.
3. Fixed Exchange Contact and Calendar synchronization issues. After editing contacts without a photo assigned, contact synchronization would fail. After editing calendar appointments and accepting changes using ‘enter’ calendar synchronization would fail.
4. Fixed authentication failure when manually setting up an Exchange server account.
5. Google security patch fix. For details, please refer to http://www.ocert.org/advisories/ocert-2009-011.html
Note:
* The update is available for the following regions:
Portugal- ROM version 1.19.410.1;
Nordic- ROM version 1.19.409.2
Could some one please make this available for download? You need a valid serial number to download it. I'd like to use it to update a custom rogers build for the G1/Dream. Thanks.
I sent you a link by PM, I'd post it here but it's on rapidshare limited to 10 downloads...
Thanks! I'm downloading it now. Hopefully it'll help get rid of a few annoying bugs in the Roger builds. Like stuck widgets, etc. I'll let you know how it turns out.
will this work with the 32b ?
Probably not, it has the HTC kernel so it probably won't boot on the 32B

I've posted the rom.zip file from the:

Hi to all,
Pay attention that an update to the SPL will be made and you will probably lose the capability to get root for the phone.

Hi hotweiss,
It is noticeable. I left Virtudude's boot.img alone & simply updated all apk's, system frameworks, & a few libs, along w/ adding Cyanogen' Dalvik VM from Donut. Then I added some stuff from Soulife's Rogers Remix 2.9.2 rom. Only minor stuff there. There's no optimization on the apk's, or the frameworks. When I first flashed it, I didn't wipe first. All my apps were still in place, the only problem I had was I had re-create all my email accounts in the updated Mail app. Once I did that, everything was fine. While out working thru early morning hours @ a customer site & roaming on AT&T I also noticed a huge difference in the browser. I've been testing the rom over 16 hours now & I'm happy with it. It does what I set out to accomplish. It's a stable rom requested by some friends that didn't want apps pushed to the sd automatically & isn't themed. It might not be running the latest kernel & have all the new stuff added like other roms, but some people don't care for all that. Just providing another option I haven't looked at your latest version 1.11. How much of the update did you use? Curious. Take care.

The rom I updated using this update is for the T-Mobile G1 which was originally mod'ed by Virtudude, so I kept his boot.img. I only wanted the updated apk's/frameworks, etc. I didn't even look at the boot.img that came w/ this update sorry. I'll let the more qualified "Magic/Sapphire" devs here answer the questions about the new boot.img. Take care.

Doing a file comparison to 3.29, the only changes were 2 bin camera related files, framework and the lib for the camera, so it looks like this update only fixes something related to the camera as no apk's were touched, so this is a very minor update, hense the minor build # change

There appear to be issues with dev-host this morning.
-- Begin copy-pasta template from one of my other unofficial build threads... please let me know if I miss updating something --
Note: I don't run this ROM personally, I really just built it. It shouldn't, but it may eat your cat.
Code:
*** Disclamer
-- You install these at your own risk! You are responsible for anything that happens from flashing these files to YOUR phone! If your
phone melts into a pile of goo, catches on fire etc. IT IS NOT MY RESPONSIBILTY BUT YOURS!
FAQ:
Q: Can I use this?
A: Do you have a developer aboot? If so then yes, but I won't help you install a developer aboot. I only ever had a Developer phone, so I only know the process as well as reading the thread. See this thread for info/help: HERE
Q: When/how often are these built?
A: Less often than my CM13.0 build, but at least every week. Unlike my CM13.0 build, I don't use this ROM so I won't be doing a "does it boot" check before uploading. Please tell the entire thread if one day's build doesn't work properly.
Q: Why did you do this ROM next instead of ______?
A: #1, it was easy. Vanir doesn't require me to make a new branch to change file names and text lines in the makefiles from "cm" to XXXX. #2, Vanir holds a special place to me for having device trees that worked for our S5 at least through Lollipop -- they allowed me to make my own CM builds. #3, I used it back in the day and they seemed pretty tight.
Q: Can I get help with something?
A: I have a full-time job and travel a lot. I'll try to jump in and answer some questions, but there is a lot of info out there for you to learn on your own. Aside from you having a vzw-variant, most of the details are standard KLTE.
Click to collapse
Recovery:
The standard KLTE TWRP 3.1.0-0 should mostly work, but MTP doesn't work for any klte* variant using it.
I prefer KToonsez's 2.8.6-based Recovery. It's older, but MTP works.
There are Unofficial 3.*.0-* recoveries available by @jcadduono. I find that these don't support decryption properly, which I find to be mandatory.
Like many other devices, the .zip files can be flashed in a recovery. The .tar.md5 files can be flashed in ODIN. The .img files can be flashed using Flashify, a TWRP recovery. You can even get an .img file from a .zip or .tar.md5 if you just open it up.
If you use adopted storage then things get odd. The latest recovery by @jcadduono MAY support adopted storage if you don't encrypt userdata (I personally know that TWRP handles adopted storage for jflte and d2), but I do use encryption so I don't use that recovery. It may be that you only see /data/media/0 -- if so, I find that using Flashify for each nightly is the most straightforward way to update, but you could always manually copy to /data/media/0 before rebooting to recovery. This is a standard Marshmallow and TWRP thing.
Click to collapse
Modem/Firmware:
Most of the LP modem/firmwares should work, but I use the one PB1 here. This modem matches with the proprietary vendor files that are part of the build. Flash it in ODIN. Please note that some have reported that you cannot flash these after the aboot unlock; If you cannot flash the PB1 modem/non-hlos it shouldn't cause any big problems.

GApps:
Various Vanir threads recommend SlimGapps, OpenGapps, or a Gapps packaged by DHO (the Vanir main developer). If you use OpenGapps, make sure to use an 6.0 version for ARM architecture. Like with all Gapps selections, they're all pretty much the same with the differences being which apps are packaged and what versions are packaged.
OpenGapps
SlimGapps
DHO's Gapps. These are a little bit older.
