Pushing sounds to /system/media for custom VK sounds - G1 Android Development

i was wondering would it work if we take custom .ogg files and push those to the correct folder and change the key board sounds.

[Q] Trying to edit an apk

This is my first post so please dont flame me too bad!
Just bought a GS2SR and installed a keyboard app to replace the android keyboard however i LOATHE the keypress sound (sounds like an old typewriter). I really like the galaxy s2 keyboard sounds so here's what i've done to solve the issue so far..
-downloaded stock GS2 rom and extracted the .ogg sound files for the keyboard click
-converted .ogg files to .wav(same format as files i am replacing inside the .apk) and renamed them to the EXACT name of the .wav files i am replacing inside the .apk
-download the keyboard .apk and open in winRAR (didn't change file extention)
-inside the .apk i located directory containing the .wav files and deleted them
-from the desktop i dragged the new .wav files into winRAR and dropped them in the original directory
-close winRAR
-resign .apk
-plug phone in and view on PC as mass storage mode.
-click and drag newly edited and signed .apk into the downloads folder on phone
-unplug phone
-install .apk on phone
So the installation went fine. I go into messaging and the keyboard shows up and works perfectly. only problem is i have no keyboard sounds! why aren't my new .wav files playing when i press a key? what am i missing here?
Did you rename the .wav files to be the same?

From my limited experience, I don't think it's that easy to modify the apk. Me thinks you need to decompile the .dex, muck around with that a bit, re-compile the apk, then rezip and resign it.
Doesn't hurt to Zipalign it also.
Look up Apk Manager to get more info.

Triumph ICS audio location

I have CM9 running ICS on my Triumph, loving it. The only question I have is where are the locations for the powerup and powerdown audio files? I found the audio folders but didn't know where to put a powerup file. I'm assuming it would go into /system/media, possibly into /audio/ui and just rename it to Powerup.mp3. Not sure if there is another folder somewhere else, the folder structure is different than Froyo and that's what I'm used to tweaking. Thanks in advance!

How go I go about adding a new lock/unlock sound?

On a prior ROM, I was able to simply replace the .ogg files in audio/ui with custom ones, but for some reason none of my rooted file managers can copy anything to that location.
How would I make a flashable zip then?

If you give me the path of the .ogg you want to replace, as well as the new .ogg file you want to use, I'll make it for you.

Directory: Wallpaper, Notifications and Ringtones

Hi guys,
would anyone know to inform me which way in android oreo (S8) the Ringtones / Notifications, alarms, Wallpaper?
What you mean exactly? Where they are located?
The sounds are located to /system/media/audio/ then /ringtones and /notifications.
I think the stock wallpaper is located into the systemUI.apk (but I'm not sure).
New wallpapers or themes should be located into /data/overlays.
So you need root to change or remove some of them.
To add new sounds you normally only need to copy sound files to your internal storage. There should be a folder called ringtones.
If that don't work create a folder "media". Into this folder create a subfolder calles "audio". Into this folder create 2 folders. 1 called "ringtones", the other "notifications". Copy the sound files into this last 2 folders and reboot.
That should work.
Don't be afraid to hit the "Thanks" button if someone helped you. It don't hurts

[S8][Anime][Sound Boot Animation] S8 Kimi No Na Wa Boot animation with sound

Hello there!
I'm in love with your name since it came out and decided to finally share the bootanimation I made of it. (S8 only)
PREVIEW
I am not responsible for bricked phones, bootloops and imploding kittens.
Instructions:
Download the KimiNoNaWaBoot.zip from here.
With a Root File Browser navigate to /system/media and rename your original bootsamsungloop.qmg to something else like .qmg1 like I did.
Paste the new qmg file from the zip folder you've downloaded.
Change it's permissions to rw-r--r--
(If you want the animation only and not the sound, you can ignore the following part.)
Sound:
Navigate to /system/media/audio/ui and check wether you already have a PowerOn.ogg file. I didn't.
In case there is one, rename it to .ogg1 or whatever you like.
Paste the PowerOn.ogg file from the zip in there and change it's permission to rw-r--r-- as well.
Sometimes the audio kicks in delayed but I have never actually cared since I don't reboot often.
Hope you like it
