i flashed and installed a ROM today and its not turning out to be what i wanted. how to i safely get it back to plain factory settings? thanks for the help. im a noob sry bout all the questions!

I really don't have time to sit here and search through all the posts (yes I used the search function for the forums and it didn't help me at all , maybe I searched wrong) to figure out how to change the rom on my phone... I have downloaded one to my computer, but now I am stuck and don't know what to do...

last time I looked in the wiki it didn't really seem all that helpful I'm a complete noob to this and so far have gotten no answers... just "go look and read" replies... how is that supposed to be helpful for someone who is completely new and makes it very obvious that they are completely new??? /endrant... Hello everyone i just started flashing my htc hd2 phone and it was doing ok but when i got to the part when im about to put the rom on my phone my laptop froze and i took my phone off from the usb and took off the battery now when i turn my phone on it goes to mgldr and its not sync to my pc and now i don't know what to do please help

Try doing a factory reset from magldr and see if that helps. Otherwise, look into flashing a ROM directly from your SD card. There's plenty of help about that in the HD2 development forums...

Take johnc's advice. Also make sure u always have a backup no matter how little a change your doing to your phone. These phones are computers and you never know what can happen.

I've got a huge problem. I tried to put the new cm (ICS) on my defy. I did it like this manual: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20097916&postcount=3
But probably I installed gapps and Kernel, instead of flashing from SD.
Now I can't boot it into the reboot-menu and otherwise it just appears this Wallpaper with the bee and the motorola-logo.
Please guys I really do need you help, I'll get huge problems if I can'f fix this stuff.

Heres a link to a page of search results that took me 5 seconds. I typed in "Defy does not reboot" into the search box. If what you want is not there perhaps you can try it on your own. And if you can't because the search function is too complex, What are you doing rooting your phone in the first place?

hello, I am a new member. I have a couple questions about rooting my phone and the basics. I understand how to root a phone I have done several so far, but my last phone got bricked because I know nothing about recovery. I am searching for a tutorial on the bare basics of reading, recovery, roms, and kernels. Basically a tutorial explaining what they are and how / why to do them.
