Searching for a Greek ROM for Qtek S110 (or Magician)

Has anyone succesfully installed a GREEK Rom on S110?
Thanks in advance...

Not that I know of. The Greek rom won't work on a non Greek device & the other way around too :-(. So to get a 'native' Greek magician there's only one solution or you really need to hack the rom.

Language change (sorry, I am a newbie...)

I bought a Qtek S200 in Zurich before leaving to China, where I live.
I did the already clasic mistake of not looking to the OS language. Was German. I am Spanins and I would need at least English version.
I have been surfing a lot until I saw this forum.
Could somebody tell me how to moev to English ? Seems that I need to change the ROM. Does this will change ALL menus in he Win Mobile ?
I saw a smart card JAFWM. Coudl be this a good and simple solution to my problem of language change ?

1. To change to English, flash the device with English ROM. You can choose between Qtek, Dopod, i-mate, etc.
2. To get the one of the English ROMS, go here to download: ftp://xda:[email protected]/Prophet/Shipped_Complete_Updates/

How to change the language from german to english on VPA?

I have a VPA Compact from Vodafone (the same like Qtek S100) and i need to change the language from german to english. How i do that?

You cannot simply change the language.. you need to change the ROM into English ROM..

Actually it's the 3rd sticky (sorry for that), explains clearly the entire process. If you do a search, you'll find other tutorials too. Just follow the guide to the letter you should not encounter any problems. You can download any ROM from this forum's ftp. The latest and last WWE ROM version is 1.13 with Radio 1.12.

Dopod has already been linked here, HTC none is available I think ubtil an update is found, the same goes for Orange I think.

Well, even if someone dump his fresh rom (htc, orange) , you won't be able to flash it on your device, you'll need to CID unlock it, and no longer does SPV Services work. So you'll need to pay IMEI Check....

what is the languages included in the Dopod Asia WWW ROM ? (not the T9 but the languages)

because over here is one or the other
Before with my QTEK 8310 I have all the necessary languages, like a regular mobile phone
English, Dutch, French, Spanish, Italian, German.....
but this time keybord QWERTY = English Dutch and all east country
AZERTY keyboard = English and French only

There is only this ASIA ROM by DOPOD... So English and Chines (maybe Russian in fact)...
We must wait for an upgrade by HTC or other manufacturers.

I guess for us the most important things is the T9 (as many as possible)
So if you buy the QWERTY S710 you have English T9 and Dutch and other east country T9
but no Spanish no Italian no German no French... T9
And same as languages avalable
If you buy the AZERTY S710 you only have French and English T9
but no Spanish no Italian no German... T9
And same as languages avalable (only 3 English UK English US French)
This is a little bit annoying.
Which GSM company in Europe sale GSM with no German, no Spanish No Italian ???
Not Nokia, not Samsung, not Sony.
By change one guy find a way to insert other T9
But we not suppose to do this our self. Can one day HTC make a FULL POWERED device. It's always something less and something more.
Latest example in this WM6 device (S710) if you are using the T9, this is no way to suggest word (add word)
I explain : let's say you want to write "Geert Derycke" in an SMS of course the T9 won't know this word. Before with
S310 or 8310..... any other Smartphones, if the word is not in the T9 you have the choice to ADD WORD (at the bottom of the usual word completion suggestion)
Now with WM6 you can't. You have to switch to ABC mode (by pressing the *T9 button) until you see "ABC mode" then you write the new word
then you get back into the T9 mode.
Try this and tell me how you like it. I don't. Take for ever to write an SMS.
When you enter the SMS section. The "NEW" in the left bottom corner is gone. Now it's DELETE instead.
if you want to compose a NEW SMS you have to go to MENU then NEW
Again something not pleasant.

How can I make own language Files for WM6?

I have a QTek 8310. And the System is WM6 from Phil.
Most of the Software is in German but not all. And my language is german
So i would know, how to make my own language Files?

hello, I have an English ROM on my SPV C600 (RUU_TORNADO_WM6.1_19202_Clean_0.4b) and like to install German software. But the software is after installing in the same language as the ROM. What can I do? Thank you in advance!

Applications steer their language via the regional settings of the device. Almost all care for the language settings (often only English in cooked ROMs), very few also about the regional settings (e.g. Sprite Backup).
If your software is storing its language dependency in *.mui.<nn> files (mostly done), then you just need to delete/rename the *.mui.0409 files and rename the *.mui.0407 to *.mui.0409. Problem is that many apps have their english part built in and not in an extra *.mui.<nn>, so you may be out of luck.

Is there a complete German ROM available for the Tornado? There are several things at different places that need a customization per language. The *.mui.<nn> is just one part of the whole story.
I am too busy (and unexperienced) to extract and port a multilanguage ROM from another device.

Look in the VOX forum, the ROMs from frauhottelmann are multilanguage and he started with WM6.1 before moving on the 6.5 train.
