Application starting on boot? How? - G1 Android Development

Hoe can I make an application start when the device is booted up? Do I need to write a script? Where do I put so it's executed after android is fully booted?

first of all, you're posting in the wrong section.
second of all, we need more information. ROM? what happened to make it crash? what DO you see if you can't get to windows interface?

The rom in my phone is the original rom from three(australia).
I change an ini file of my input method I installed( and set it as the default input method), and this input method has a short cut in startup file in windows. so I guess my phone crashed because it can not load that ini file.
I can see start menu and even the time is correct, but not all hard button is working and the today screen is crashed. beside I can't start any software on my phone and it can not connect to ActiveSync.
I post it here because I think it related to rom dumpping.
I am trying mtty now, but it show "command error!!!" when I try to use "rtask a", "rtask b" or "r2sd".
I think if I can get to the AT commond interface I can dump my sms out

Android on pc help needed.

Ok I know this isn't the right forum for this but I know how good the developers in this forum are. What's happened basically is I installed Android on my pc on the same partition as windows xp. But it doesn't work properly and now when I boot it loads grub but windows Isn't listed as an os. So how do I boot into windows and remove android and grub. I've looked everywhere and I can't find how to do it. Plz if anyone can help I will be very grateful.
Thanks
Dion.
I'm not an Android expert but I can't imagine, that it's really possible to install Android on the same partition as XP ?!
Edit: OK, maybe it's possible, but it's not a good idea at all..
However...
-Boot with your XP CD
-Press R
-Enter "fixmbr"
That should help you..
It won't be easy removing grub. What you can do is have grub show Windows. Grub will load the Windows bootloader, which in turn will load Windows.
You can also set it to automatically boot the Windows bootloader, so you can delete the Android partition (don't delete grub!).
I don't think there are any Android specific guides available for this, but if you can get into a shell (which I doubt you can't), follow this: h t t p://supergrubdisk.org/wiki/Howto_Boot_Grub_from_windows
Also, I think running fixmbr or something similar from a Windows recovery console (using a DVD) would work (h t t p://support.microsoft.com/kb/927392).
Hope this helps.
Thanks I will try the supergrub link as its a netbook I haven't got a cd drive so ill let you know how I get on. Thanks for replying.
P. S.
Luvin swiftkeys.
Ok thanks I fixed it. I used the grub console to boot into windows then I used something called testdisk in windows to restore the windows boot partition. Thanks

I think your rootfs.img is at the wrong place.
Do you have App2SD?
what does ubuntu do exactly?
@bergfex
its in root of the sd inside a file called linux. (/sdcard/linux/rootfs)
@jcsd1212
ubuntu is an operating system.
it is based on linux.
(windows is also an operating system, just like android etc)

Help please

hello and pardon by the English because I am translating.
I have a HTC S and I wanted one 2 days ago I put a ROM nandroip and everything but I realized and I wipe the entire phone erasing all the ROM and everything I had.
the problem is I can not install a ROM on my phone now because every time I try from windows CMD when you start the installation makes me daemon not running, and sends me error: device not found.
I've tried with another tutorial that you have with the application all in one kit but also not let me access this sd every time I try to enter telling me insert disk into drive E: \.
I can do?
I think it may be by the drivers of PC but not sure I instadao have 5 or 6 drivers and nothing.
an administrator's name is called android MYHTC ADB and other android or something.
I am desperate thank you very much took 2 days doing everything.
thank you very much.
my windows is XP.
Ok, Sorry but im having difficult understanding everything you say, But i think i got the basics.
I would suggest you re download the drivers, Remove HTC Sync if you have it. Move all of your ADB files in to 1 folder so its easier to navigate to when using ADB.
Can you boot the phone into recovery ? I assume you have CWM as you say you installed a nandroid ? If so, Use ADB whilst in recovery, USB Debugging is always enabled when in recovery so you should have no issues finding your device from there.
If all goes well and you find the device, You can then PUSH and INSTALL files / roms from there
Keep us posted

[Completed] I think I messed up something when changing the OS of a tablet.

Hello, I wanted to change the OS of my tablet, but I think I messed up somewhere, and now with Android "installed" it just doesn't boot up.
It used to have Windows but I wiped everything of the hard disk. Now it only gets a black screen after the boot which let's me choose Android-x86 or the same but in debug mode. Also, I am installing it from a pendrive, and when installation is done, it let's me choose to just run Android or reboot. If I choose the first, I get the Android text, if I choose the last, it will reboot it, but no Android text or anything, just a black screen.
