i did a hardspl and i am using microlabs newest rom and despite what everyone else says its really glitchy and has frozen up soo many times on me and i wanna just use ivanmmj's justme clean rom and install touchflo 2d (if there is even a way to do that). anyway do i need to go back to an orginal tmobile rom or can i just flash another rom over the microlab one? sorry i just dont wanna brick my fone
You can flash over it. Just remember: JustMe requires that you flash through an SD card formatted as FAT32.
Also, installing TouchFLO2D is possible on ANY ROM. (TouchFLO2D itself is VERY buggy, though.)
On a different note: You may get a warning from the MOD for posting this here. Please remember that the Development subforum is to talk about Developing ROMs. Normally, you'd want to post in one of the other Herald subforums.
thx alot but also under the subforum has a description that says rom issues as well as rom development thats why i posted here, sorry if its in the wrong place and again thx for the help
hehe I always thought about stating that but never did

If_ anyone has followed my plaintive threads you know my phone works, but, I CAN NOT CONTACT the phone through SD, WIFI, USB,BLUETOOTH… No way to install anything to ROOT. The only communication is through websites or e-mail
1- Oddly I can still flash initial RC29.... So, what if I renamed everything else I need to load “dreaimg.xxx”, and mounted it using “power/camera buttons???
2- OR; what if , I emailed at least an SLP or Radio to myself? (how would I install? dunno). I don't think
Sounds desperate but the brilliance and experience I know lurks here has not been forthcoming for the 3 weeks I’ve been trying. (not you, the other guy).
SO!!! $50 to HAITI if you solve it !!! .What if your mom over there??
Please someone read post and tell me to start-over...or flush.
Many thanks, PK

Seriously dude ? U cud've just asked for help, why u have to go n put ppl's mom's in haiti
You say you can still flash RC29 but the SD doesn't work? How are you doing this?
nevermind, I read some of your past posts.
Step one at this point is to get a SD card formatted properly. That is my bet, I have had issues there before. Use a card reader, format fat32 and start from scratch. If it can read the SD for one rom install it should be able to read for any other. What guide are you following (or, have you rooted a G1 before?)?
Tell you what, I may consider helping you fix it if you promise NOT to donate any money to that cess pool.
...and promise not to post in the dev section with questions haha
I sent the OP a PM with some helpful links, but as usual whenever I try to be helpful I never see the guy again! What is it with people that post and run? LOL

take it easy, u might hurt ur self
ok its not quite in the right place, but no need to bite his head off.
anyway, in answer to your question, the way i removed the branding from my vodafone DS was this
http://revolutionary.io/ download this tool and follow its instructions, this will root your phone and give you a recovery tool that will allow you to flash a new ROM onto your phone.
With the phone rooted, you will be able to back up your data using an app from the market. Titanium Backup is the usual favorite.
EDIT : may be wrong about it providing root, I personally skipped the backup step as I had no data to lose, but if that is the case there are guides in the forums for obtaining root access
next look through this forum to find a ROM that suits your needs, from the sound of things you want the stock one, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1230029 should suit you.
download the zip file and transfer it to your SD card.
next you need to reboot into your recovery mode by turning the phone off, then hold the vol down button and power button together and selecting recovery from the menu
finally use the volume buttons to select install zip from SD card, and point it at your downloaded rom. it may take a few mins so allow it to finish then select reboot phone.
again this first boot may take a little time, but once its up you should have a debranded ROM as if you had just bought the phone new.
Add the details for your google account and redownload your backup app so you can restore your data and you are good to go
thank you very much for your help,
I shall give it a try,
by the way, will be able to install official updates on it, or will I have to stick with custom ROMs for ever?
thanks again

Nooo, not forever. Just until you get a new device
But seriously: Custom roms don't work with official updates. The trick is that most of the custom rom developers provide their own flashable updates for their roms. The difference is in the way you perform the update. There are even fairly developed custom roms, like MIUI, which have their own over-the-air updates (actually more often than official updates are coming.)
EDIT: In fact, you can switch back to a stock rom anytime and get the official updates back.

lol, possibly....hello,
although a lot of effort had been put into creating a lot of resources which are very user friendly, so it's quiet frustrating when they aren't even looked at.
Plus development is for just that, which is why the moderator moved the thread.

OK, I understand... but how do I get the official stock rom?, and by stock that means it has no Orange apps at all right ?

Once unlocked, i.e. rooted, you can use titanium backup or a root file explorer to uninstall the apps you don't need from the rom you are running atm.

Well, again: read around the forum a little, please. There is a sticky thread right on the top of the development section, called ROMS/RECOVERY/ROOT etc. It's a must read for newcomers. Very useful thread. There you find a link to a collection of stock roms. These are distributed as .exe files, so you can run them in windows and a simple-to-use installer will pop up and help you with pushing the stock rom to your phone. It is advisable that you double check that you are flashing the rom you really want. Someone here will help you to choose the right one.
EDIT: By the way in the general section (where we are now with this thread) there is also a very useful sticky. It's called Guide for Newcomers to Android. Seriously, it's a good read, given that you own an Android phone...

OK man, I will do that, thanks for the tips
Thanks chris5s, Ill definitely give it a shot.
This tool would help to get rid of the annoying Orange splash screen, and other useless apps could be removed as stated before.
Of course, best way is to install generic HTC European rom or custom rom of your choice.
Aforementioned tool would also help install roms, radios, etc, of your choice.
Good luck
Peace
Edit: sorry, Android flasher won't help install roms, but will help with installing custom recovery - Ext4 or Clockwork Mod - essential in s-off/rooted flashing.
woke up this am and was going to install new build of elagencia and got message if I wanted to format sd card???? checked sd card and all data is gone. I have an older backup of elegencia gb on laptop. can I pull all the apps and data off without messing the new ics??

Which all belong in Sensation Q&A
Easy answer bite the bullit and reformat the card, it's been corrupted so obviously that has to be done. Long answer google free data retrieval software spend hours quite likely recovering nothing
ziggy if you read the post you might get the hint I was fishing if this might have something to do with the latest build I know where the q and a is but thats a general forum. I wanted to know about this build if anyone else had a problem, thanks for the reply
Sd-cards will fail on virtually every make of phone regardless of model or OS. This is Development not general fishing/random brain f***s what development is in your post?
The elagencia thread would have been more appropriate to see if that build had a problem, no need for a new thread at all

No you're STILL in the wrong forum section and this is ONLY for posting of new ROM uploads and Mods. Not your questions.. You should have asked this INSIDE Elegancia thread. Just reformat dude. Your data is gone and NO it's not a bug from Elegancia because I'm running it now.

Hello guys!
I have installed Cyanogenmod 3.7.0 (android 2.3.7 version). It's MALGDR installed.
I want back to stock, but I'm not sure how.
I have downloaded the ROM from local HTC-site.
The rom is put on SD-card, so should I erase everything on SD card and make a partiinion FAT32 or can I do this AFTER I have installed WinMO 6.5?
Or could this occur some corrupt data or something during installl? Any help is highly appreciated.
Also, when I will start installing. Should I use the method on using VOLUME DOWN + POWER ON button, to get into that tri-colour screen and then plug in USB, wait for it to connect and then just drive from computer?
When I run the ROM from the computer it is like random rom install. It has to detect the device etc.. for it to install. This will not be any problem?
Thanks alot guys. I really hope someone with education around this will help me out.
Please any help!!
would like to give it a bump, so perhaps someone can help me.

I'd be very surprised if you were the 1st person to want to go from a Magldr booting ROM back to WM, so the answers you need are probably already there. I pointed you there purely because you'd be surprised how many people don't know their devices have specific forums.

Wow, that was a real nice thread. But I'm wondering about if I install without deleting partitions on SD card, and just run the ROM-file that I downloaded from HTC.
Can I do this? I'm really not sure how to exceed this prodedure, since I want radio and HSPL being all original.
Thanks for the thread though, mate. Hope you can help me out perhaps here!
