they say they wrk on windows ce but not mobile.
HAVE U GUYS ACTUALLY GOT YOUR XDA2 running java applets????
sorry im very frustrated.PLEASE HELP!

The Ewesoft program is VERY confusing.
And as far as i can tell, it didnt work.
I've been looking for some kind of Java that will allow me to run Java applets off of website (like jIRC).
Right now I'm looking at CrEme, which looks like its what I need. But I think I'll have to buy it (i really dont care at this point )

JAVA FOR XDA2
AHA!! I KNEW IT... ALL THESE "EXPERTS" CLAIMING TO HAVE A SOLUTION AND PASTING LINKS IN HERE,... AND YET THEY HAVNT FRIGGIN TRIED THE MEDICINE THEM SELVES ON THE XDA2 !!! ARGH!!!
THAT TICKS ME OFF SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!! :>(
IM SO MAD I WANNA EAT MY CRT MONITOR!!! GRRRAAAAAA!!!!
HAS ANYBODY FRIGGIN GOT THEIR JAVA APPLETS RUNNING ON XDA 2 YET OR NOT!??!
PLEAAAAASE TELL ME... IF YOU HAVE, ILL KISS YOU, (if youre a supermodel) AND MARRY U.
I downloaded a copy of Netfront 3 which comes bundled with JVLite2. I havent really used applets with it (except for the 2 games and the calculator that comes with it) but it's been amazingly compatible with full blown Java based chat systems (with multiple resizable windows) when launhced through the Netfront browser. As for the midlet thing that comes with the phone I havent got it to work with anything, I can select the setup option then nothing happens.
Make sure you have ROM 1.60 or later if you're on an XDA 2 because I found that the Java program just disappears in some complex apps with anything older. Also be wary of using Java chat rooms on the train, if u go in a tunnel the Java program will freeze up and wont close, even with special task manager programs on the phone!

JVM FOR XDA2
aha! a real lead this time!
hey buddy, run icq applet at
http://go.icq.com
PLEASE TELL ME IF IT WORKS!
so that i don't have to risk 30 us dollars.
many thanks in advance!
if it doesn't work can u try a java website like net banking sites?
il be eagerly waiting ur feedback on the results
Dave
well i installed and used ewe compiled an old java program i wrote years agoe just to try it out and it ran just fine
it was no applet and had no gui
but it ran all the same
as for running java in a browser then i havent come across a plugin for IE maybe some of the other browsers have it maybe when opera comes to town it will have a plugin
p.s. writing with capital letters mean that you are shouting which is normal when one is fustrated but you have normal letters in the middle
which is "talking" normaly would be pretty fun irl mixing shouts and normal talk
opera? she makes browsers?!
that black female (barely) talk show host that cant make up her to stay either fat or thin makes browsers?
will it work for xda2?
how many browsers in total currently work on xda2
and is it possible 2 upgrade the version of ie that comes with xda2? say 2 version 6?
dude who got java working on xda2 for irc... still waiting 4 ur results on go.icq.com applet.
DAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!
http://dailywireless.org/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=2996&src=rss09
it's for smartphone but will prob come for pocketpc aswell
http://www.pdabuyersguide.com/software/internet_thunderhawk.htm
and another
how many browser project there really are is a question only google knows
if one can upgrade an ie on a pda depend on if it's located in rom and if it let other files shadow those files
but has anyone actually tried to run an applet on an xda2 with another browser yet?
so far evryone has theoretical ideas but would love to hear success stories on how the got their xda2 to run full grapgical applets. such as http://go.icq.com.
JAVA SUCCESS FOR XDA 2 !!
SUCCESS!!!
THE NET FRONT LEAD WAS SOLID! Thanks whoever sent that link!
I CAN NOW RUN FULL JAVA APPLETS ON THE XDA 2 WITH THE NETFRONT 3.1 BROWSER THAT COMES WITH A JAVA PLUGIN THAT YOU HAVE TO MANUALY ENABLE IN THE SETTINGS OF THE BROWSER PLUGIN SETTING.
YOU CAN EVEN SAVE IMAGES FROM THE WEB!! A FEATURE IE DOES NOT SUPPORT IN XDA 2.
Get it from

Java on Faria WM6

I was hoping that some of the sites I visit that are strictly Java would work on this new ROM. Specifically they are Linux based security cameras broadcasting the video in Java. Is there something else I need to do to get this to work?
Thanks in advance for the help!
Anyone, anything?
After a week of sitting here with no replies, I either didn't post enough info, or no one knows. I guess it's just a feature that I don't get.
Hey,
doesn't sound like anyone replied, so I will! I use a different browser for java based stuff like that. I use Opera and it works fairly well ,but there is still stuff that will not work. I havent read any where that wm6 pie supports java now.
Jeff
Thanks for the reply Jeff, I will do a little research on Opera then and see what comes of it.
Okay, downloaded a version of opera that didn't do it for me, still can't get the streaming video.
Just so you have a little more info or idea of what it is I am trying to do...
http://67.118.198.67/top/liveapplet.html
this is the address of the cam I am trying to see via my 8125 with no luck at all. It loads the html page but never starts the Java.

yeah I hate to say this but chances are you're not gonna get it to work. PIE can't run anything java. Opera is the only browser that would be able to do it, but it still doesn't work for some sites.
you can try to install a java midlet, but I doubt that will help because it only runs java programs, not webpages.
I've tried two different versions of Opera, neither one of them did diddly for me.
hi, i know this java issue sucks on pocketpc... have u tried netfront, thunderhawk or i think mysiafu, i will try them out coz i have a customer who wants that too, he wants see his station from his mda but like ur link it also runs a java applet.. good luck and will let u know my luck...

In got my VOX today and I have some questions about it..

Well, I bought my vox today.
And it is really cool.
There are a couple of Questions I couldnt fix with the Help File.
For example, at the Home Screen on the Bottum you see: Start and Contacts.
Is there a way to change Contacts to Message or Send Text Message or something like that?
Also, I installed:
http://www.trianglepowers.com/PPC/ViewApp.aspx?ID=56
The install was alright but it doesnt work.
I don't see the Memory Bars on my screen? Do I have to enable that somewhere?
Also I've got a couple of questions about Specific software that I seem not to be able to find.
I think I should post this in a Separate Topic but I dont want to spam the Entire forums full, so i'll ask here
Has anyone made Scapy work on there Smartphone? Using PythonCE?
Also has anyone tried Super Puzzle Turbo Fighter ][ Java on there VOX System?
Since its not meant for it. But I think It should work. Though if it doesn't and I bought it. Well thats just a waste of money..
Is there anyone who used MiniStumbler on a SmartPhone? Since I can only find it for Windows Pocket PC?
And my last Software Question is:
MARS - [Memory Array Redcode Simulator, a machine that simulates a Corewar battle]
is a Programming game?
Is there a port for it in SmartPhone? Since else I should make it myself ^^
Well, I asked a LOT of questions. I hope nobody thinks I am a Leecher
Thanks already!
Cheers,
Robin
I'll answer the questions I know answers to and tell you that if you search you will find an answer, so here goes;
1). Yes. Search XDA for "Soft key changer"
2). That application is for PocketPC, it will not work properly on your Vox which is Smartphone/Standard.
3). Scapy does not work, as far as I am concerned PythonCE for Smartphones is a kludge.
4). There is a Java VM called Esmertec jBed. It should be able to run Super Puzzle Turbo Fighter just fine provided the resolution is within the Vox limits.
5). MiniStumbler does not work on the Vox, however WiFiFoFum does, it is completely free and has the same features.
6). MARS, there is no Windows Mobile or even CE port/release of this.
1). Yes. Search XDA for "Soft key changer"
Thank you!, I didnt know what to look for but now I do ^^
2). That application is for PocketPC, it will not work properly on your Vox which is Smartphone/Standard.
Ah, ok thats why I didnt work. But ofc tht is quite logical. I thought that didnt make a Difference if it was the Home Today Screen..
3). Scapy does not work, as far as I am concerned PythonCE for Smartphones is a kludge.
Ok, well thanks.
I am going to write something like this myself then. If it's done I'll post it here.
4). There is a Java VM called Esmertec jBed. It should be able to run Super Puzzle Turbo Fighter just fine provided the resolution is within the Vox limits.
Ok, thats GREAT! I am going to get myself a Copy right away!
5). MiniStumbler does not work on the Vox, however WiFiFoFum does, it is completely free and has the same features.
That other program is fine aswell. Just wanted to find WifiNetworks. ^^
6). MARS, there is no Windows Mobile or even CE port/release of this.
I found a fix. PocketDOS!! ^^ I just run it on Dos.
Thanks for all this, your a great help =)
Cheers,
Robin
You can also use Smarttweak v.1.07. It can modify alot in your vox and removes the message sent notification after sending an sms. There is a crack version here in one of the topics here. just look for it. ciao!

runescape on the HD2

hi all surely with the hd2's massive spec it must be possible to play rune scape however when i try it just tells me i need java any ideas? thanks
Have you tried running it with SkyFire, that may do java, just a suggestion, not 100% sure.
hi i have tried sky fire and that got the closest so far just amazes me that with a device as powerful I the hd2 there still isn't full support for java and decent flash I presume some one must be working on it but as yet no luck
I'm no expert on Java, but have you tried accessing rune scape with Opera Mini? After all, it's a java based browser and runs inside a java runtime environment... Maybe it works!
yeah have tried opera mini and no luck thanks any ways

no u cant plain and simple.
I used to play RuneScape, and why would you want to play it on such a small screen?
Actually...
you can try to install 'Esmertec Jbed'. It's a java for windows mobile, grabbed from roms. its posted on the trinity forum but you can take it and use it on any WM device, at least i use it:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=407667
About runescape, never tried it but I checked and saw there is an option in the: play now-->java options-->change it from default to force sun java, and use IE.
good luck and tell me how it goes
dan
hi dan tried both those things neither of those things worked but thanks any ways
sorry to hear that
does it have a java client? perhaps using JBlend then. don't know.
also
with the opera mini, have you tried the 10.3 beta?
hope it will work, if not - well, sun will release a formal java rather sooner than later.
until then - good luck
dan

[QUESTION] What is the diference between .NET 3.5 & .NET 3.7?

Hello All!
On my travels yesterday I happened to come across a cab for .NET 3.7...
Haven't installed it as never heard of 3.7 being out..
Is it real? Are there any added benefits?
Thanks in advance!
can u post the link or a cab. ?
As requested..
Here you go,
Any Ideas? Thought maybe it might be for cooking rom's but not sure...
.NET Compact Framework 3.7 leaked to public?
Are you sure you've got an authentic .Net Compact Framework version? The next version of the desktop framework is 4.0 and the compact framework usually follows the desktop version. I'd be a bit suspecious about what ever it is that you have that is labeled as version 3.7.

Just hought it was all a bit strange..

You need it whenever a programmer has written their program (e.g. a phone app) using one of the .Net programming languages. Similar to how you would need Microsoft windows to be running on your pc if you wanted to run (the windows version of) Microsoft Office. The .net programming languages are not the only option when writing programs, but they're very popular so that's why you find lots of things won't run without the framework.
Technically the framework is a bit like a translator sitting between two people who don't speak the same language, but who want to communicate with each other. The .net compact framework is the translator sitting between programming languages that programmers understand (and like to write in), and the language that the underlying circuitry of your phone (and the operating system) understands. It also does lots of safety checks whilst programs are running to ensure that e.g. when a program crashes it doesn't crash your entire phone, and that programs don't try and do things they shoudn't (e.g. security risks).
It is possible to write programs (e.g. a phone app) that doesn't need the .net compact framework - and programs that don't use it can sometimes run faster than those that do! (because they miss out the 'translation' step). The advantage of using it, however, is that it does a lot of things for the programmer to make things quicker and easier - helps them avoid reinventing the wheel, some very complex tasks are already done for you, programs are less likely to crash / are more reliable, and can 'talk' to other programs much more easily.
The cleverest bit (for me as a programmer) is that I can use the same (.net) programming language to write web sites, windows mobile apps, windows phone 7 apps, and programs for microsoft windows. It used to be that you would have to learn something completely different for each.
Hope that helps.
Ian
