Does somebody knows a program that switches reliable the GPRS/UMTS connection off when I press the power (off) button on my ppc (HTC 7500)?
- From time to time especially when Opera is open and for a longer time there is no traffic over the internet connection I loose my IP address and only a reset brings the ppc in a status where I can reconnect to the internet.

All work fine after upgrading, but when I try to break GPRS connection, I can't do this, because Disconnect button has disappeared. When IE try to open any link it initiate GPRS connection, but GPRS don't disconnect automatically when I close IE. I can drop GPRS connection only by editing it in settings. Some idea?
I had the same problem and I installed SPB gprs monitor. Now I can connect and disconnect plus many other options.
You can press the red receiver button for 2-3 seconds, that does the trick.
I use a GPRS tweak utility (free)
http://www.gb-soft.cz/XDAII/product_gprs_tweak_en.htm
This allows for automatic disconnect, enabling the disconenct button etc etc
I do not upgrade the rom but try pressing the hand up button for 3 sec.
Download this file: Orange_GPRS_Desconnect.sa from http://larsvdberg.speedlinq.nl
Put it on your mda
Run it, and the disconnect button wil appear once you have a connection with GPRS, tap on the G logo with the two arrows and voila!
Hello,
I'm having some questions regarding a VPN connection, namely the fact that it seems to close it down quite fast. I have configured a PPTP VPN on my TyTN.
When I now connect to my mailserver (using Pocket Outlook), it first connects to the VPN (both when I'm using wifi or gprs/umts), and then connects to the mailserver. However, when I then choose to download a mail message, it reconnects to the VPN (which takes quite a lot of time).
Similarly, in Pocket Internet explorer, the VPN is also re-established when moving from one site to another.
Even worse, is that in Skype, the VPN connection is not seen as a wifi connection (so it says it cannot connect). I can circumvent this by first launching Pocket Outlook or Pocket Internet Explorer, which opens the VPN. Skype can then use the connection, but the VPN is closed after 30s (if when in the middle of a conversation!).
None of these problems occur on a laptop connected to this VPN. I'm guessing there is something on the TyTN that causes the VPN to be shut down. I have tried setting up a website that refreshes every 20s to keep the VPN open, but it doesn't prevent it from closing (and it doesn't reopen a closed VPN).
Is there a way of keeping a VPN open ?
(either by a registry hack - some timeout setting, or by some 3rd party software)
Thanks!
Jörg

Yes the 2003 (ARM), and the 2003 (SE) are different. Did your friend have a hardware button on his device already set up for GPRS disconnect? I don't see how you can map internet disconnect to a hardware button on your 2003. Unfortunately in order for you to quit is to contine turning flight mode on or simply removing the sim card, or tapping on the comm mgr. icon (system tray at bottom of today screen), and tap on the device icon to disconnect. The icon should change from yellow to gray.
can use software??
we are same instal wisbar, the difference, my friend have disconnected fungtion but actually is same icon but not have disconnected fungtion, what wrong?? do you have the software for solved that problem? just tap enable/disable GPRS...thx
I would like to make my Touch Pro not connect to 3G/Edge internet automatically whenever I momentarily lose my WiFi connection. The reason is, when Opera goes fullscreen, the taskbar is not visible anymore, so I'm not aware that surfing costs me real money.
Is there a way to do it? Please help.
You could use modaco nodata, it turns off data connections alltogether. It shouldn't turn off wifi if I'm correct, but I never use wifi.
settings->connections->connections->advanced->select network
choose my homenetwork in the dropdown rather then my isp or
what ever it's called with your setup
I have problems with my wifi.
My router is like 8-10 meters away and i cant connect to it , although i see it available. When i am in a room closer , like 3-4 meters away its working fine but still disconnects a lot. Whenever it disconnects i need to go to settings and press connect or wait for it to do it itself but it usually takes a while. It disconnects every minute or so , dont know why, sometimes more often sometimes it doesnt disconnect even for 30 minutes. I can live with it disconnecting but the biggest problem is that when it disconnects and i am surfing the net (using opera mini 5) i keep getting error spam : "The answering modem has disconnected , to check your connection settings and change them if needed press settings" , and another error about problem connecting to the gprs service in my home network. Is there any way to stop this spam? When i get this every f****** 10 seconds i wanna throw my phone -.-
Ah and if it changes anything , here are my settings
Connections - Connections - Advanced - Select networks
I have My Work Network in both windows
Connections- Wi-fi
In Network Adapters card i have set "my network card connects to : Work"
In Wireless Card -(name of the router) I have selected Connects to Work, Authentication WPA-PSK, data encryption TKIP ,(password).
Please help me. This disconnecting and error spam is killing me :/
