A program that can change the vibration pattern of incoming calls / SMS. The program currently available is VAlert that change the vibration pattern for CALLS. Is there any program that change the vibrate pattern of SMS? Please let me know if I missed out..
- I saw this Smart Vibrator for Andriod, so i was thinking if anyone can make something similar for Windows Mobile
https://slideme.org/application/smart-vibrator
You can compose the vibration pattern by:
"." Short vibration
"-" long vibration
" " pause 0.5s
And you can set different patterns for different incoming numbers. This tool help you would not miss the important messages and call.

in PhoneAlarm you can specify some custom vibration patterns for all alarms, calls, email, sms, etc.

Is that really true? I did a testdrive with phoneAlarm (which kindly ****ed up all my alarm and ringtone settings) but could not find anything that let me edit any vibration patterns. Did I end up in stupidity?
Are there any ways to edit SMS pattern by now? Thanks for answering in advance?

I tried phone alarm n it drained my battery much quicker than is spose to. idk maybe i did something wrong.

But, were you able to change the SMS vibration to a custom pattern? I haven't found such an option in the program I fear...

that is so true, i downloaded it yesterday n it didn't change the vibrating pattern. however, did u use the pro or lite version?

I tried the pro version. Trial version of pro. The changelog says that it is capable of changing vibration patterns for each alarm, but there was no such option anywhere. I looked through it twice at least. Strange then. Is there no other way for changing the vibration for SMS and e-mail?

+1 Xperia has such a sucky vibration pattern (haha, I just called it pattern!), it just vibrates forcefully one time so hard that the device hums very loudly. I'd like to have the normal three short vibrations.

The same with the Touch Pro. People keep asking me why I have my razor with me. Three short vibrations would be a dream of a vibration!

Bump.
I assume no solutions yet. I have been scouring the interwebs. I have found some registry edits that can do it, but appearntly if you change profiles it goes away.

App that adjusts ringer to silent for different callers?

Is there any app that can have the phone ring on silent for some callers, and with volume on for some? For example when I'm sleeping, if my friends call I want it to ring on silent so it won't wake me up (but not block the call, because I still want to see the entry on my missed calls), but if my mom calls I want to hear it ring so I will wake up.
perhaps:
h t t p : / /
ringomo.com/android
.php
customize specific ringtones for every contact
otherwise create a "blank" mp3 you use for some contacts
Nice idea with the blank mp3

That would be a lot of work to set up every night, lol. I want something quick and easy that you can switch on and off.

I realize this is an older request, but we just released a new application, CritiCall which does exactly this. It allows you to turn the volume off at night and still receive calls from specific people. Just set them as "critical" contacts and the app will override the volume settings and let the phone ring for those contacts only. It will remain on silent for everyone else.
You can even set up groups so you could have your family set as a group that will ring your phone 24 hours a day Then you could have another group for friends or co-workers which limits the times it overrides the volume to between 8AM to 10 PM or whatever times you want. You can customize the times for each individual or for each entire group.
Trial version is free

or Click Here from your phone.
Paid version is $0.99
or Click Here from your phone.
There are also features to let you adjust the volume that it rings as well as an automatic resume feature. Obviously there are times you can't have the phone ring, but you can turn CritiCall off and set the time for it to turn back on automatically. This works great in case you turn the volume down for some reason and you forget to turn the volume back up - you don't miss important phone calls.
If you have any issues or comments/suggestions, let us know at [email protected]. We want to know what features to add - we're already working on an on/off widget and also having CritiCall work for text messages too.

AutoRing - review here.
Uses a white list approach.
I was looking for the same thing coming from a BlackBerry and I found Bedside:
http://www.appbrain.com/app/bedside-(night-clock)/net.geekherd.bedsidepro2
I love it. It uses a whitelist so you just set up who you want calling/texting (which are seperate) and only those will ring through. It has a widget you tap to activate/deactivate so it is pretty simple too.
I use Toggle Settings pro, and it works well for this sort of thing!

[X1][5.0 transform]Knowledge Required and Ideas

Hello friends!
I need some ideas and help from your knowledge-full minds if you don't mind sharing some
My first one its a problem and it sounds like this:
I really need to see where this popup is located so I can disable it because its getting anoying. Everytime I send some big sms messages and I pass a number of sent mesagges/hour, this system popup appears and I have to dismiss it for every sms message.

}
Translation: SMS Bomber (the app i used to simulate my daily use of sms messages) sends a big number of sms messages. Do you allow this app to send messages?
And the radio buttons are "deny" and "allow"
I used every popup blocker/finder and i can't seem to find it. I manualy searched for it in system files, I took almost every .xml file one by one and searched for a clue but i can't seem to find it at all. I made a logcat but i can't seem to understand what that big amount of data is telling me. Does anyone have a clue about this kind of system popup and how to disable it?
EDIT: i found out what's causing it, and that is the 100 sms limit generic on any android smartphone, but in my smartphone its ducking 20 msg/hour. I tried all the ways, with 3-party apps, sql editor and manual adding but it still shows up. Any ideas?
EDIT 2: I fixed it. Looks like that on 4.2 you have to add the entry in the global db
The second one its not a problem, i just need some advice. I want to customize my stock rom to the max (there isn't a custom rom for my smartphone and I want to make it just like Android 5.0 with only root acces and stock recovery/rom) and i managed to modify the status bar with exposed, I took a launcher that was just like lolipop, i modified the ppi, I tweaked the guI with some xposed plugins but that is not enought because my popups, power menu and settings menu are the same. I read something about framework res but i am not sure about it and what does it do. Do you have any info that can help me? Maybe i will publish the rom for my smartphone after I tweak it a little bit if i manage to do it well.
The third one is a problem that bothers me from when i bought the phone. Whenever i plug in my smartphone a usb cable, my telephony signal dies. I can't receive/send any calls or sms messages in that time. What could it be?
The forth and the last one is about a thing that I want on my phone and i can't seem to find nothing. I want to wake/unlock my phone without using the power button (i have a 5" smartphone and the power button is located in the upper side) with a double tap or a gesture. I heard that i need kernel-level permisions and that i need a super-amoled or amoled screen (because of the black pixels that don't light up when they are black) but nexus 4 has "Touch control" app that lets it do the knock wake but it has IPS display like mine so i guess it is possible. Any ideas?
EDIT: managed to use Tap Tap App and it's ok
Sorry for the long post, here is the cat-tax and the potato-tax

EMUI 8.0.0, Android 8.0.0, Google Messages (with channel Notification) - Help?

Not sure really where to go with this, except I'm hoping with someone with a bit more experience on these builds will know what's going on, explain why what I want won't work, or what I can do to fix. Or at least if it's an EMUI thing, an Oreo thing, or a Messages thing to know what to look into changing.
I'm running the builds downloaded from the https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-6x/development/update-bln-l22c675-emui-5-x-x-to-emui-8-t3819317 build. I also installed Messages v3.8.037 (basilisk_RC15).
It seems the Messages app starting at 3.7.052 at least, Messages started using channel notifications on Oreo. Whenever I go into the app and try to change the notification options, it seems to redirect me to the phone Notification settings directly to the "Messages - Other Notifications" section. Under that, there's only an option to turn ringtone on or off, not to set the sound for it. I can set a ringtone for each contact in the contacts app, but that seems to change the call and messages ringtone, and I really just want a way to distinguish a notification that I got ANY text from getting ANY email, ANY motion detection on my security cam, etc.
Bear with me on my journey here, I don't know how to resize these without making them all JPG'y and unreadable...
I tap on the vertical ellipses in the Messages app and tap on settings, and this screen pops up.

}
I then tap on the Notification option, and it brings up the screen I was talking about above, where I can't set the ringtone, only turn it on or off.
The same experience happens if I start from Settings, which appears to be all EMUI'd out.
Without EMUI, I think you'd get App Info, according to all posts I've seen. In EMUI 8.0.0, I tap on Apps.
I then had to tap Messages, then Notifications (not pictured) and it takes me to this. Nowhere between are options to change the sounds either. Tapping on any of these takes me to the exact same thing as image 2, but it shows the subheading of whatever I tap on here (example -- image 2 is what I get tapping on "Other notifications"). Notice there's a separate setting here specifically for my wife for some reason.
Here's my build infos:
Thanks for any info you can give me, even if it's just education. I know it seems piddly, but I'm thinking this will apply to anything with channel notifications. For instance, I just noticed my security cam app appears to use channel notifications and I can't change it for that either.
So what you wanna do is to set individual sounds for some contacts? Well, as far as I know the option isn't available in EMUI 8. Or at least I don't know how to.

It's not that, I can do that in contacts. It's that I want ANY text to come through to be sound A, whereas email alerts are sound B, security camera app alerts are sound C. You can see above that I can't set the sound for Messages app.
Pretty sure that's not possible. Try Googling it.

Ya, I had it in Nougat and got spoiled with it. I set my texts to be "Hey, Listen" from Navi in Legend of Zelda, and I set my emails to be a rupee sound, and security system to be the "opening big chest" sound. now they're all the standard system notification sound
I can switch to Textra like all of the Googles suggests, but I like having the Google app and the "Messages for Web" functionality. Guess I'll have to live with this or go back to Nougat. But this has been a whole different phone since I've gotten Oreo/EMUI8. WAY less lag/lockups. So I'll deal.

Help with notifications and volume changing

Hello guys,
I'm wondering if is there a way to stop the sound volume changing made by notifications.
I'm explaining better: in any mode, with or without sounds or vibrations, when I'm listening to music or watching some stuff and I received a notifications, for example by WhatsApp or email, the sound becomes lower for a couple of seconds and then return to his previous volume. That's very annoying.
Do you know if there's a way to stop this behavior?

Go to Settings\Sound and Vibrations\ and look for Ascending Ringtone. This setting starts sounds low and raises them as it continues

I've tried it, didn't work, it keeps interruptions
To completely stop notifications from interrupting, you have to disable the notification related to the app.
Settings\Status bar and notification\Manage notification. Select your app and go through available settings. Experiment until you find what you're looking for.
Yes I've tried all the settings, nothing changed. Don't know if it's a bug.
Vivo with Oreo 8.1 does not support separate ringing/sound volume alarm form sound alarm notification.
You have to wait until Pie version arrive that add that useful separation.
Here's how sounds volume works on Pie.

Easiest way is to enable the silent mode from control manager while anytime you are watching videos and don't want the notifications disturb you.
Hope this helps!

Confused by notification sounds under vibration mode

Hi, my Pixel 3a is making a sound whenever there is a notification, although I have set the phone to vibrate (even in the do-not-disturb mode!). I have used Android phones for the past eight years, so I think I am pretty familiar with all the little things with Android, but I am just confused to hell about what is going on. I checked a few settings, and they look okay to me (which means that it would behave "normally" on my old phone). I have media volume set to non zero, but that should not matter as I understand.
I think if I turn off app notification sound in individual app's notification settings it should work, but obviously it is a daunting task that I do not want to bother.
I wonder if you can offer some advice. Thank you.

Yeah this confuses me as well. The only way i found was to tap the notifcation symbol again so it turns to the bell with the line through it. But then theres no vibrate either

I still have the notification sounds under the mute mode (and was again waken by a sound at 5am this morning). I suspected this may have something to do with Google Assistant, and while I am not 100% sure about it, I tried something and it worked for me: I turned off "notification access" (Apps & notifications > special app access, or via search) of "Google" and some other apps, tried to trigger notifications, and the phone vibrated/stayed silent as expected. I turned them back on, and everything still works fine. Hope they do not com back.
You may want to give that a try.
EDIT: DO NOT turn the access back on -- it may fail after you reconnect to your Bluetooth headset.

There is a thread for it now:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixe..._bug/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
Since these notification channels were implemented, the whole way of the notifications being served got upside down and confusing. R&D forgot at 7.0 already that android is a phone os, some people don't have time to granularly tune each and every app and set the sound and vibrate and other bs.
Same here, Facebook's notifications can come with a weird sound even if I cut off any sound...
