Is it possible to root and still get OTA?

This is my daughters xoom. I really only want to root it to use Titanium Backup.
Is it possible to rooted with normal method by flashing cwm and flashing root from there using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1242241
and then somehow reflash the stock boot/recovery images.
Would this allow a rooted device with OTA updates?
You can flash stock ROMs on a rooted device: yes.
However: during the process of rooting all of your data will be wiped, so you might want to check with your daughter if that's okay with her!
If you want to stay up-to-date with your Xoom (even before the stock ROMs come out!) my advice to you is to flash team EOS 2.0 on it.
It is extremely stable, runs ICS (even if you have the 3/4G model!)
I think that it's possible to get OTAs if you flash the stock ROM.
Watch out however! If you haven't installed VooDoo OTA RootKeeper, you will lose your root!
So: Install Voodoo OTA RootKeeper if you want to keep your ROM up to date with stock images, while remaining rooted!
Hope this helped, if so, please thank my post, sothat I start my sunday morning with a great feeling!

Need help getting rid of twrp

Hey guys, I'm pretty much a noob at rooting and unlocking. Up until I rooted my nexus 5 in the hopes to get side by side apps I haven't rooted since my gs2. Anyways I rooted my phone via the nexus 5 root toolkit and unlocked the bootloader and whatnot. I found out that I couldn't do side by side because it wasn't available for my version of android. I attempted to unroot and return to stock and I just unrooted and locked the bootloader. I'm a total noob at this and have googled for hours and can't figure out how to return my phone to stock without twrp. Everytime I try to do OTA updates it just restarts to twrp and it's super annoying. Can anyone give me a for dummies walkthrough of how to get back to stock so I can do OTA updates?
I think (people will correct me if I'm wrong) that in order to get back to full stock, including stock recovery, you will have to do a flash of the stock ROM which will install everything including recovery. Maybe there's an image of the stock recovery available which you could flash into the recovery partition to overwrite TWRP - I've never thought of looking, but Google is your friend...
Yea just fastboot the stock img files there's plenty of fastboot guides around and it's stupidly easy to do

sony z3 d6653 lolipop 23.4.A.0.546 root help

i unlocked the bootloader but theirs no way to root without downgrading to kk..
is theres a way fo rooting with this update can i have it
im new to sony and had a bricked problem yesterday
played a little bit with flash tool and managed to get out of it with the Unlocked bootloader..
And you were aware of such keywords like "camera DRM", "TA partition", "backup" before unlocking, right?
I've aswered you elsewhere too, but, the procedure is kinda universal (for Z phones that is): downgrade to KK, giefroot, XZDR, update to pre-rooted LL.
What's your issue with that? You do it once and you just flash the next version, keeping data, but wiping dalvik&cache.
i didnt keep the drm backup...
now i dont think i can restore it
it doesnt matter all i need to do it to root this and have the full power to my self
done and rooted and everything works fine..now i nned toknow if theres any pure android marshmellow available??

To root with an unlocked boot loader is the easiest thing, just flash an insecure kernel.
As for ROMS, head over to the development section and take a browse there.

zv7 to zv9

I am currently on zv7 rooted (sprint)
what's the easiest way or if not, proper way, to go to zv 9 rooted?
do I have to go back to zv6 stock and update to 9, then root?
or can I flash a zv 9 rooted image over it?
please advise
well found the answer, not sure how to delete topic
You can't delete it. Why don't you share how you did it in case someone else is wondering the same thing.
okay I grabbed the stock image from here (im on zv7)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-flex2/general/return-to-stock-ls996-stock-img-t3217089
then I went to this post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-flex2/development/lg-g-flex-2-ls996-zv6-sprint-5-1-1-t3169212
that post is actually to root, but all you do is instead of flashing a rooted image, flash the stock image instead
after that, I let it get the OTA updates until I was zv9 (latest)
then I went back to that thread and did the same thing, except this time flash the rooted zv9 image
it was way more simpler than I thought. No reset needed and no data was lost
