No data connection after downgrade?? - G1 Android Development

Hey guys I went from the 4.9 Magic ROM back down to RC29->RC30->RC33. Everything flashes fine, but once I flash RC33 my phone shows no data connection at all. It has been like this for a few hours now. When I flash to both RC29 and RC30, I get data just fine.
Anyone know what is going on?

I would suggest going back to the RC33 radio plus please be aware that TMobile's network has been experiencing some wonkyness today.

Thanks! I think it was the T-Mo outage. What was wierd though is that when I would flash to RC29 r RC30 it worked perfect. I guess the bug in the neetwork is onyl afecting the newer FW???
Oh well! All is well now I think.

Latitude On JF 1.42 ADP1.1h - Stuck on "Saving Your selection"

When trying to agree to the terms(agree and share) of latitude the device is getting stuck on "saving your selection". This is happening on EDGE and Wifi (Not in a 3g area) I previously had the JFRC33 1.42 just about 3 hours ago and all was working fine. I did a wipe, obvious reboots and nothing seems to help.
I have the current radio for the device. Anyone have any ideas as to what might be going on or what i might be able to try.
Anyone else experiencing this problem?

RC33 works
JFv1.42 RC33 works
Does Latitude work on the official Google ADP1.1h?
Latitude in JF1.41 RC33 is working for me. I did the radio update, and was previously on JF1.41 RC8 (I did a wipe going to RC33) and before that official RC8.

im sorry thats the one. I have the google official adp1.1h and the official bootloader on a adp1.
And it gets stuck on saving your selection.
Same problem here. I "upgraded" from JF 1.41RC33 to 1.42 ADP 1.1h, and Lattitudes no longer is able to start up.

Works fine for me. I had the official ADP1.1h, and upgraded to JF ADP1.1h and it's still working just fine.
I'm back on JF v1.42 RC33 now, and trying to figure out how to switch to official ADP1.1. If anyone has a link I can use, that would be great

There is another link in this forum that will take you to the un-signed Offical Non JF ADP 1.1 with latitude and voice search..
On another note Im going to try switching back to RC33 because now my Browser will not open I either get a force close or just a white screen. This was working last night just started this morning. My Emails are still coming though NVM I just did a wipe and now the device is back online but still not able to get on latitude
same issue
I just upgraded from JF's ADP1.1 to 1.1h (also did the radio update) and latitude never gets past the saving selection. for reference
i did not wipe my partitions before hand

Okey so i got it working on my adp1 1.1h official google release. No idea what was wrong but first i thought that it had something with this file:
/data/data/com.google.android.apps.maps/files/DATA_Preferences
but it didnt give me much so i removed it and all kinds of stuff. no gain.
so i did a wipe and it works fine!

Hmmm just tried doing a wipe and it didn't help. I've got my apps and app-private on the sd though. Maybe I need to undo that?
edit: oops, doing the wipe undoes the moving stuff to sd card, right?

Issues with radio back on rc33

OK so i tried the 4.5 sapphire build on my phone and i tried it for a while and went back to rc33 no issues at all
i then tried the same build on my friends g1(at&t) and went back to rc33 and now he is constantly loosing signal or gets no signal at all sometimes
i put my sim in his phone and i get signal
i already flashed 2 diffrent radio updates and get the same isuue
im at my wits end.... will unrooting (flashing rc29 again) work?
the weird thing is that I have t-mobile and he has at&t ....... would that have anything to do with it ?
Update: I put the 4.5 sapphire build back into my friends g1 and now everything works ok ........

Problem with android...

I installed JF1.5 adp, and I have an issue, when I make a call to someone from my contact list, in the call log it "logs" it as "unknown"....
Also I the battery life is way too short... I'm losing about 1% per minute or two.... wifi off, locate off, no major apps running
some help
Have you tried reseting to default settings. Also it you've done that reflash jf 1.5. Also make sure the radio is correct.
baseband is 1.22.12.29 is that correct? if not how do I update to newer version?
help
That's your problem download the new update from jf's blog site rename it update. Don't wipe just alt s

Sorry they where taking you the long way around
Here's the direct link to the htc dev support page
Scroll about a quarter way down till you see the radio link
Also use a pc the radio download link is not g1 friendly
okay, so the issue with contacts still exists, I call then it logs it as unknown... should I try to reset everything to default? alt+w? and as far as battery... I just lost 2% in last 2-3 mins, so seems no difference...
ok
Alt w will work also with batery did you flash any non default themes to your phone my phone does that too but I have apps2sd and aero black flashed to mine. Also if you have a theme app loaded they cause lots of problems with 1.5. Only thing that could cause battery drain is something running in the background try doewnloading close everthing from the market it has a feature to tell you what's running in the background there is a free one in the market.
another thing
You could also reflash jf 1.5. To the phone see if this fixxes no need to go back to rc29 to root/hack or flash radio since you've sone that.

hmm
I've run out of ideas maybe someone else has one usually there would be a few people here jumping in to help. Only other thing I have is to do the root/hack again update the radio first then jf 1.5.
yeah I will most likely do that, before I get too deep into customizing the phone, probobly tomorrow I'll do it. I appriciate all your help!

Issues with Mobile Data Rapidly turning on/off after using hotspot

Hi all -
I recently updated to the 4.4.3 VzW firmware and upgraded from Viper 1.8.0 to Viper 2.5.0. Since upgrading, I have been having troubles with my hotspot. After being on and other devices have been using it for a bit, my M8 begins to rapidly turn on/off the Data Connection. This doesn't stop and the only way to fix the problem is go into airplane mode and back out again. I figured that I may have had a bad flash, so i tried reflashing clean downloads of both the firmware and a full wipe and reinstall of ViperOne, but still seeing the exact same issue. I seem to be also experiencing a problem where my phone is reporting a 4G connection, but data is disconnected and i cannot get anything over the data channel. Voice works fine. Again, to fix it's a cycle through airplane mode.
I tried applying the changes recommended by for the 4G handoff fix, even though the problem described does not seem to be exactly the same as mine. It did not seem to help, and mae it even harder to get a reliable 4G connection.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-one-m8/general/verizon-4g-handoff-fix-t2868778
Has anyone else seen anything like this and have any recommendations for a fix?
Just realized this would be better in the troubleshooting forum. Is there a way for me to move it there or does that require a moderator?
Check http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-one-m8/help/loss-lte-data-using-ap-t2900047
I have had the same thing, going back to 1.55.605.2 FW does seem to be the fix, I think its something with 4.4.3 FW.
One of the so called improvements is Mobile hotspot connectivity, but maybe that's only with phones that don't use the patched default.xml,
the ones that really pay for the mobile hotspot.

Thanks for the reply - do you have a link for the old firmware, so i can flash and revert back to that?
Also - are you still running Viper 2.x or did you roll back to a prior ROM as well?
After some more searching, i found this link for stock 4.4.2 on VzW, but was wondering if anyone has the firmware only, so don't have to restore recovery, and rom afterwards.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2727831
I certainly can and will do it, if necessary, just would prefer to have the firmware only, if someone has it available. Anyone?
Thanks in advance for the help!

initial tests are very promising. hotspot seems to be stable and hasn't dumped the data connection yet. Looks like good old VzW managed to screw up the firmware update as usual. Would be nice if they didn't always to be different. Thank god for these forums and the hardworking devs here!
I spoke too soon. Still seeing the same issue after reverting the FW back to 1.55.605.2. Anyone seeing this? Any thoughts on if reverting back to Viper 1.8 would help?

I don't think it is the firmware that is the issue, I think it is the kernel. You should be good going back to Viper 1.8 as it uses an older kernel. I would think you would also be fine using the newer firmware and an older ROM version.

I'm starting to believe this as well, that there's something flaky in the 2.x Viper ROMS for VzW and hotspots, and likely in the kernel. I've already reverted back to the old firmware, and I'm going to go back to a clean 1.7.x full install, then OTA to 1.8. Will update with the results.

Suddenly extremely poor reception

I'm having major issues with reception in my house, and only on my 16 GB OnePlus One. When switching to my Windows Lumia 635 or my HTC One X+, I get fine reception-- but as soon as my SIM's in my OnePlus One, I start receiving texts extremely late, which is a problem with apps like WhatsApp which require text verification.
I'm running stock ROM. That's CM 12.0-YNG1TAS17L. Stock kernel, unrooted even (ever since I flashed it back to stock to try and fix the reception issues). I've also tried OxygenOS, BlissPop, and Exodus and none of those have fixed my reception woes. Thanks in advance!

You ever get this fixed? I recently took a trip to San Diego and noticed the poor reception there.. a friend of mine, who's also on T-Mobile, has excellent reception with his new HTC One. I, on the other hand, had horrible reception; sometimes none at all. I've manually flashed the latest radio and still no dice.

Yeah-- here's what I did:
1. Flash stock ROM.
2. Update to latest stock ROM version via the CM updater.
3. Install TWRP again if needed.
4. Followed steps here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/help/fix-cm12-calls-sms-mms-deep-sleep-t3103193
I flashed both the modem and proximity packages after updating to latest stock, and I reflash every time there's a new stock update. Hopefully this works for you!

Well, stock is 4.4, but when you use the stock CM updater you'll be brought to CM12, 5.0.2. You don't have to stay on 4.4
