id a nandroid backup then factory reset, then flashed this recovery image off of htc.com http://developer.htc.com/google-io-device.html#s3, then i flashed cyanogens rom then did a restore
thats what i did and i restarted then it started acting up
it has a picture of the image in the background of amon ra's recovery image and it won't go to recovery image, flashboot mode, or turn on. it doesnt even go to the screen that says mytouch 3g, it goes straight to the image. PLEASE HELP! Thank you
Yep, You bricked it.
I did the same when I first got my phone. I flashed the wrong radio (I mis-read the image name) and killed my phone. You can't get past what your talking about to reflash anything else.
You need a new phone.
i fixed thx anyways
i let it sit there 4 a while and it went back to the recovery image and its all better now thanks for replying

1st person with totally bricked G2x

SO i think I totally bricked my phone. Any input would be great. MMy phone boots up and is stuck on lg screen. I tried flash CWM and stock recovery but nothing. Any ideas or should i just send back and get a new one
I really mucked this one up
It's not a brick if it turns on! But I'm fairly new to this phone and I'm not familiar with it at all Normally I would suggest to fastboot flash the new OFFICIAL CWM recovery image, but I don't even know where to begin with fastboot on this phone

It would probably be a little helpful (if you want help) if you let everyone know what you were doing when you "bricked" your phone. That way people know where to start in assisting you.

I had a infinite loop problem on mine. I just restored to stock.
Turn phone off (pull battery if needed)
Turn on while holding volume down + power button

What happens when you try to boot into recovery mode?
OK here is what I did to brick my device.
I wanted to do a factory reset and I used clockwork recovery to do so.
Wat I didn't know what that Clockwork recovery was going to format my system.
I can only get into fast boot via vol up+vol+down+power
Cannot get back to stock recovery or CWM. Tried flashing via fastboot method
My phone just goes to LG screen no loading bar
Currently the only function is fastboot
Did you try formatting via Vol-Down + Power?

Yes I did but same result stuck Lg screen no loading bar.
Capacitive touch also are not lit appear to be not working
1) Fastboot flash the official CWM recovery image
2) download http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048274
3) put the NANDROID in the correct folder on your sdcard: /sdcard/_ExternalSD/clockworkmod/backup/
4) restore via recovery
Thanks for everyones input, Called t-mobile they are shipping a new one out asap. I'm just going to have to suck it up till tuesday.
I love trial and error they only thing i lost is a little time

I flashed official CWM recovery image numerous times via fastboot and phone just gets stuck at lg screen. Once again vol up+power and vol down+pwer does nothing
Is there another fastboot method or adb method to restore CWM?
did the same thing it bricked my phone does nothing else than start up then freezes. f-ING pissed
The best thing with Nvidia phones and tablets is that its barely impossible to brick your phone. If you think you bricked it - you just need NV flash and either the stock rom or stock recovery and you are back to normal
I have done that with my old G-tablet - it was a piece of cake to fix it.
is there an nv flash for mac?
thought i did the same thing!
if you can get it into format hit the home button. hopefully vol+down+power will get you there. pull your battery and you may just get lucky if done enough times? i would keep trying. good luck

[Q] Infuse Bricked even after GTG method!

Hey guys so what happened was that I was trying to root my phone through Gingerbread and Odin (as my infuse is Rogers). But I forgot to put in a SD card so now my phone is stuck in reboot loop! I have tried everything you guys have mentioned online! I cleared the user data but no avail. I inserted a SD card, even put on the SGHI997 rom, inserted the folders voodoo and disable-lagfix and still didnt work. I tried unbricking it via GTG but instead my rogers is gone and now I have AT&T and still in a loop! HELP!
Did you look at this post to see if it helps.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1205381
yup i did. It was the GTG process i mentioned that i tired before. the bootlooping has stopped but know is stuck on the samsung screen :S i left at the screen for 30 mins now still nothing. i cant even enter recovery mode anymore
u can not get into download mode??
yeah i still can
Were you able Odin back to stock?
not really, these are the results of odin:
GTG odin process: stuck at samsung screen. Cannot enter recovery mode.
Gingerbread process: goes to clockwordmod recovery (red txt). I wipe sd, wipe data/factory reset, enters bootloop. However can enter recovery mode.
Rogers stock: goes to andriod recovery mode (blue txt). I wipe sd, wipe data/factory reset, enters bootloop. However can enter recovery mode.
so no phone does not go back normal functioning self

From recovery you should be able to get to download.
Try this link with the option to get root & 3e recovery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1092021
It sounds like you do not have modified 3e installed so it will check for sig?
from there if you install packages 2X you can get to CWM and flash what you will.....
EDIT: Sorry, I see you are able to get to CWM
can you not put a new rom on the SD and flash it? Or start over again with a fresh stock in case there was a glitch in the first install?
I am in the same situation and have the same problem too, i"ve looked lots of post and tried different method,,
even GTG's method it still in boot loop!!!!T^T
can anyone help

Hey when you say rom is assume you mean pda kernal files that come with odin and such? Then those would be PDA_ROGERS_UXKG3.tar.md5, PDA_Infuse_Gingerbread.tar.md5, the files the come in GTG unbrick.
I have also did repartion, but it did nothing.
I you mean rom by the SGHI997 rom i tried that too
Edit: Okay so I have been searching online and discovered you need put the room onto the internal sd card. But i dont see how i can do that considering my phone goes to recovery mode straight away

I'd like to bring the UnBrickable mod to this platform which will allow us to flash bootloaders to UnBrickably modded devices.. and seriously mod the crap out of the firmware... If you decide to turn it in for repair, consider PMing me so I can do some reverse engineering on it and then you can turn it in for not being able to turn on
Your device likey requires a PIT flash just so you know.

In CWM (red) under "mounts and Storage, select "Mount USB". Of course you are connect to your computer when you do this and in windows an external drive should become available. Place the zip file on the root of that drive.
Once copied, disconnect from windows first then unmout in CWM. from here you can go directly to and install from zip.
Hope that makes sense.

hey i tired what you said. i did a few times nothing came. then on my 4th try the driver showed up on my computer but it said 'please insert drive.' i reset and tried again the drive didnt show up
Remove the sim card and try again. Also, you can always copy a rom to an sdcard and install that in your Infuse.
Cranky...
hey i tried what you said but same result. i cant put on rom on because they mass storage does not show on my pc :S after the odd time of resetting and entering recovery mode, it connects but it says 'insert drive'
follow this link,, i recoverd my infuse 4G using this rom!!!!!!!

yes try a pit flash with repartition selected, it might fix it. theses types of bricks have been rare on the infuse and many people dont have experience with them. the available pit is packaged with the att ultimate unbrick but you should probably use it with the rogers odin firmware.

Sorry it took so long. I'll try to get in touch with GTG to make sure that his unbrick threads are more clear as to which device they are appropriate for.
UCKD5/E3 unbricks will only work on AT&T Infuses
UXKG3 will only work on Rogers Infuses
Custom Gingerbread ROMs will work on both, but there are no Odin-flashable packages for these.

Restore H918 to 100% Stock (!!REQUIRES TWRP!!)

Hey guys, I had my V20 rooted, then after a while, I returned to stock. Upon telling a buddy of mine this, he was wondering how I did it, and sure enough my method didn't seem to be known that much. So here's a guide to restore the T-Mobile V20 (H918) to 100% stock.
First off thanks goes to cbucz24 for extracting the TOT into IMGs. Also, thanks to meraz9000 for making that possible.
Ok, first off there is one draw back. You MUST have access to TWRP, or the ability to install TWRP. First you want to download the system, boot, and recovery images. I pulled them from the IMG zip mentioned above and zipped just those three. You can download it here.
Secondly, unzip those onto SD card, or internal storage if you don't have one.
Boot into TWRP. Easiest way is to use ADB "reboot recovery". If you can't do that, hold volume down and power button, and when you see the LG logo, release the power button for about a second, then continue pressing it. Say yes to both prompts and you'll get into TWRP.
Next BACK UP /SYSTEM! This is very important. Whenever you make a change to anything, make a system backup. DO NOT SKIP THIS.
Next, go to Install and in the lower right tap images. Find system.img and choose that, and choose system image. Install boot.img onto boot. Now reboot to system. If it boots properly, go back to recovery and flash recovery.img to recovery. When those are done, reboot to bootloader, and relock the bootloader (for SafetyNet).
You're done!
If you have any questions, just ask.
Please use LGUP and the KDZ file to restore from now on. It is a much reliable way.

Vuciz, so basically you flash system, boot, and recovery images in twrp one after the other, reboot to bootloader and relock the bootloader? Or you reboot after each flash?
What do u mean by relocking the bootloader?
Thank u so much for your help
Only reboot to the bootloader after everything is flashed.
Once back in the bootloader, connect your phone to a computer and run the command "fastboot oem lock". Make sure you have ADB and fastboot installed.
Thank you. That worked perfectly.
It's really good to see that the bootloader unlock is reversable, unlock with the US996 official unlock. I'll be rooting in a few weeks now for sure.
This works perfectly. Thank you!
Quick question, after i choose the system.img do I just swipe to flash from there and not select a partition? Thanks.
I went ahead and swipe to flash but it wont says to select partition but my only options are boot and recovery?
Hi, I got a quick question. When you relock the bootloader, does the triangle go away or does it stay when you boot? does it turn red then?
Thank you,

Sweet. Last question, TWRP stays in correct? I am trying to get stock recovery but I am not sure if I can do that! I know we don't have the proper flash tool yet to do that, but was wondering if anyone here was able to achieve that!

The OP describes flashing recovery.img, so I'm thinking it probably restores after a reboot.
I'm fairly sure that TWRP is overwritten when you flash the recovery.img partition with the stock recovery.img. I didn't try to access TWRP following my return to stock efforts as I was going to warranty repair my V20 due to the blown speaker issue.

Do be very careful with this, I've found from experience that there is no going back from stock recovery if the system won't boot until there is an LGUP dll or equivalent. TWRP is your safety net in regards to everything else going on in development right now, but if you flash the stock recovery and the system decides not to boot, you'll have a paperweight until development catches up. The stock recovery is very limited (VERY, about all you seem to be able to do is factory reset, which likely only wipes the data partition from the speed that it goes through), and fastboot flashing and partition management have been disabled in the v20.
Wanted to do this bit I can't seem to download the files fro m the op

never mind i figured it out
Yeah... what the hell is the point of backing up SYSTEM if you also are flashing the RECOVERY? You won't be able to save yourself even if something does go wrong. Leave TWRP on until the system boots properly. Then go back into TWRP and flash the stock recovery.
Is there any download for the US996 stock?

That's my fault. I thought I mentioned to boot into system fully before flashing the recovery. I'll edit OP.
