ok ive been trying to find a place to post for this looked around web not found much help i bought a nokia 5800 few days after i got it imei number got blocked i cant get my money bak as i bought it on cheap wondering can the imei number be changed for one of my older phones thanks in advance if anyone can help

I am thinking about purchasing a "China" phone on ebay. I have not been able to find out who the Manufacturer of this phone is. But I was wanting to know if it would be difficult to upgrade this phone to the latest version of android. I have never owned an android phone before, but I have owned a WM 6.1 phone where I had to update the phone via rom files. I am also listing the phone to see if anyone has purchased one of these before and to see what your thoughts are on it.

Upgrading a rom can be done most times, but in this case I recommend contacting the reseller before you purchase this model. Reseller's often have contact with the manufacturers, so you can ask them to contact them to answer your question. Personally I just would take a more common device but that's up to you. Good luck.

I have been a fond reader of XDA Developers when i once owned my own X10 (it was **** ).
Now i happen to be getting the Optus Huawei X1 or also known as 8150/8180 (its the 8150 but with a different skin).
I know , i know, you guys will tell me to search around google and XDA developers . but the thing is I have and the 2-3 threads on XDA weren't solved. Im only a teenager and the options of buying unlock codes or software such as DC Unlocker is not plausible

There is unfortunately no easy way to unlock most phones. You'd be hard pressed to find any new phones that have free unlock codes. If you can't buy unlocks online, a lot of phone repair places will also unlock phones.

I use too have tilt 1 and tilt 2 my tilt 1 was t-mobile and I had att&t could not send picture messages. but when i joined your site and changed roms all my problems was fix. I have had a iphone5 for around 6 months, i did buy it used. anyways it stopped working today, i called t-mobile and they said it's been blocked for none payment of the owner who had it before. I been using the phone for 6 months without any problems and I am up to date on payment. but they said it was the owner before me, i said why did it take you 6 months to tell me this, all they said was sorry.my question is can i put another rom on my phone and will it open it like it did on my tilt. Please forgive me If I post this in the wrong place. Thanks in advance

Sounds like your phone was reported stolen by the previous owner and blacklisted on the network. You cannot install different roms on it like you can for Android. The best thing you could probably do know (unless you know the old owner and can get your money back) is to list it on eBay as "Bad ESN" and hope you can recoup your costs. There are probably ways to get around the bad ESN but that is not something you will find here.
Sorry I closed this thread because there isn't a lot of iPhone information on xda and iPhone threads tend to attract trolls .
I think that coolloser is correct and that T-mobile reported the phone stolen when the previous owner stopped paying T-mobile. Your only real recourse is to try and fix the issue with the previous owner or maybe T-mobile. Finally, changing the ESN of your phone to get around blacklisted numbers is illegal in most places and so is providing help for some one to do it. So please be really careful about asking about changing your ESN and please don't do it on xda.

ok in short ive been very very unwell for 13 years (very long story,but i was basically bed bound 13 years)

anyway i got my first flat over a year ago and at end of year had a £1000 phone bill (talktalk land line) it was cause my illness im not thinking straight
anyway in short im not going to use the landline EVER AGAIN!
im going to get a pay as you go 3sim (321 its called)
but i need a mobile phone and have been told to get a moto g 4g version
BUT i really want a samsung s5 clone but dnt know where to buy one
i dnt want to get ripped off,i dnt have the money for a real s5, but im wanting to buy the best s5 clone their is going if poss?
any help please , or should i just get a moto g
also ive NEVER had a smartphone in my life so where could i learn about how to use them and what can be done with them etc
also do they need any security installing on them? as on my laptop i use avast and malwarebytes
also i heard dnt buy fake phones as most have malware/spyware deep in the phone that send personal info to chinese servers
is this true?

I was shocked about that prices. when I was seen that mobile phones I didn't find any thing, it's looks like same (Original one). and How to check IMEI Number?
