hi all. new guy here. I just switched from RIM to WM 6.1 w/ a hty Q5 (Hantel)
can't find much info on this phone besides how to buy it. Does anyone know about this model. After a week it has crashed and after restart and master clear it will not boot up at all. Just the first Blue Windows Mobile screen. it doesn't even get to the HTY Logo Screen and then shuts off after a few minutes. Have i destroyed my phone?

Dear friends
Im a proud owner of a HTC TOUCH ENHACED or HTC ELFIN.
It would be possible to run android os on it?
Today i have watched a video where some guys runs in a touch screen phone a demo of android and this phone was a very slow one (ti omap 800, 64 ram and rom) and the os worked quite fine...
what dou you think about it?
cheers
with time yes now not likely i would keep an eye on

Im new to the pda world (ive seen the light over super mobile phones like the N95 I currently own), Ive just been given old xda IIi and can appreciate the benifit already.
Ive just watched the U-tube videos on Android and I can see the future, what an amazing OS, there throwing down the gautlet with the offer of 10 million quite an incentive.
this OS on my Himalaya... that would be ultimate WIN
Being a ridiculous n00b here, I'm wondering the same thing, have just ordered the Ted Baker (Gay Purple) Touch on Win Mo 6 - and have no experience of installing OSs etc. on mobiles - how likely/practical is it going to be for me to put something like Android on it, when the time comes?
Don't worry, i'm sure you'll find a good tutorial as sson as android becomes available for the touch or any other PDA.
Actually flashing isn't that difficult, as long as you take yours time to follow every step. Otherwise you'll brick your device
hi guys, i have an htc touch cruise, its about 15 months old now. Its totally standard and i have not tried upgrading it, however it has become really really slow to start up lately. This morning i still could not phone anyone after 5 minutes, and it froze once! is there anything i can do to speed this up? i have an 8gb memory card in it with about 4gb of music, would this affect it? cheers for any help!
i forgot to add thats it actually an O2 Orbit II branded variant
What's your memory status? How much free device memory you have?
Maybe it's time to uninstall some software, or even hard reset device - remember, it's Windows...
see this is what i am thinking, fecking windows! this is my first XDA, so i just assumed, like my laptop, it will need re-installing once a year!!!! ha ha!
i might just take the opportunity to upgrade to wm6.1, good idea?!
If your Polaris is on 6.0 Pro, I don't suggest upgrade...

Why on earth not? Just curious what your position is.
Usually the newer 6.1/6.5 OS will is a lot more improved that the outdated 6.0. My vote definitely goes for upgrading your phone, it'll fix all your problems.(unless its a hardware issue)
My points are all written in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=411883&highlight=Bodisson&page=13
In short:
- iGo 2006 stopped working
- problems syncing with more than one PC
- slower
- more battery consumption
There's more, but these 4 are my main reasons.
Hi, im running an xda zest from o2 using windows mobile 6.1. I know i should probably search the forums but the topics seem old and outdated and there are several different instructions for the same task.
Im looking at upgrading my xda to windows mobile 6.5. I know o2 hasn't released a 6.5 official version for this phone but im sure there is one out there which covers the Asus P565 which is basically the same phone, the zest is just abut under-clocked.
Could anyone provide me with some links or advice as to what i can do, is it possible to safely upgrade to WM 6.5 without turning it into a brick?
Thanks
Brad

hello everyone,
first of all, im very new to this forums and htc world, so please no harsh judges...
couple of days ago i traded my old cellphone nokia n-95 (which i wasnt very satisfied with,as it wasnt my kind of cell phone) for this htc qtec s200 pocket pc. but my trouble now is that i dont know a damn thing about it. currently i have some ****y OS, which is slow and annoying. i checked it out in "about" tab, in settings menu, and it says that im using Widows Mobile 6.1 pro.
i would like to switch it for something faster and better, any sugestions ???
Hi Folks, im New here so i cant take my Question to the Dev-Forum.
I got an T-Mobile MDA IV Compact in hands with that horrible 6.1 on it. There is the last/latest branded TM firmware on it.
I try nearly everything to change it into an unbranded, but the Phone it a real Ruffneck.
Anything i try i can watch some booting, -> "Virba" -> RESET.. and reboot new -> ""Win 6.1""
Format to fat32.. and so on, all essentials..
Now at least i try the XDAnroid with the might right Startup (Diam100).. IT INSTALLS and i do everything what it needs.. Calibrate Screen and so on. I see the animation with the green Smileys/Dots and wait for Config itself and wait for the Lock-Screen but on this way it do -> Reset -> Reboot -> WIN 6.1 ARRGGG
It wont start with xdandroid - i try it with the 500 also but there is an freeze.. OK.. Now in time i try it maybe 10x with the diam100 but always the same prozedure.
What can i do before i throw that thing "thru" the Wall.
Thanks ..
Realy no ideas ??
err beacause that is impossible that's why. Give up ur phone is TOO LOW-END to handle the latest android Don't bother get a galaxy S2 and be done with it. No one would waste time porting android to such a low end device
My first Phone is a LG Optimus Speed 2x Tegra Powered
The MDA IV was long time (2 Years sure) unused, now my Girlfried all times hangin around in the Android Market and Play some "low-end" Games..
Her Contract is from now over one Year to wait..
I thought it was enough to prepare the MDA for some Games..
You really think it is to slow ?-> I got to "google"
