I'm running Web Server (httpd) on my T-Mo SDA (Tornado) for a project. It supports ASP pages in JScript, but not VBScript. I read some guy was able to get it to work on installing some RuntimeFat.ppc.exe on his WM5/6 device, but that won't install for me. I guess because it's for StrongARM/X-Scale or maybe PPC2003, not really sure. Is there any other VBScript.dll or runtime out there that I can use?

Sounds like you might need to install the eMbedded Visual Basic Runtime for Pocket PC 2003!
eMbedded Visual Basic Runtime for Pocket PC 2003 can be found at;
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/resources/downloads/developer/evb.mspx
As far as the list goes one was started here on this forum some months ago, so trying doing a search on the subject.
HTH
It would have been handy to have a compatability settings like xp where you can choose to run a program under 95 compatability for example.

thanks but i have the source of that hp48 emu prog and it being c++ makes me think that more then vb dll's will be required to solved
if only i had the embeddet visual studio for 2003 i could try and find a fix because from what i can read on the site of that hp48 last time they did any work were like 2001 or something
I am looking for yenc abilities on my windows mobile 6 phone. Running on Herm100 or ATT 8525. But this can apply to all windows mobile devices.
I want to read nntp, usenet newsgroups that have yenc files.
Anyone know if there is yenc encoding for the WM? can anyone make one? If I knew how, I would develop it myself.
Currently using QMAIL 3.0 for nntp on my phone.
Thanks.

My phone is a Treo 700wx. The OS is Windows Mobile Version 5.0, OS 5.1.195 (Build 14932.2.2.2).
I can not connect to the following secure web site:
https://www.quantumgateway.com/mobile/
The company claims they can do nothing about it. I do not have this trouble with other SSL enabled sites that I have tested so far.
I looked at the cert they are using and desktop FireFox says it is RC4 128 bit which doesn't seem right for modern SSL. I know my own web hosting certs say "AES-256 256 bit".
Their cert was issued by:
http://www.securetrust.com
Is it possible the root cert isn't installed on the phone? I can't seem to figure this out or even where to download the root cert just to be sure.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Bump.
Could somebody at least test this site with their WM5 phone to see if they can connect? Thanks.
Hello to everyone,
now it's several days ago, that I have purchased my registration.
As a owner of a Fujitsu Siemens Pocket Loox, I was looking forward to an unofficial upgrade to wm5, because I want to run several new apps (e.g. mozilla fennec in future or now the latest opera mobile) on it, which doesn't work under wm2003SE.
Researching in the forum I found several threads, wich say, that there is no chance for an upgrade.
Now my question:
Is there somekind of an emulator or runtime, which allows me running wm5/6 apps wm2003SE?
Or would it be possible to develop something like that?
Thank you very much for your answers!
So I was trying to get PocketGBA to work on my Windows Mobile 6.1 phone.
The CAB wouldn't install at all (I probably should have taken that as a hint) and Direct Installation always crashes. From what I can gather from the debug file, it is trying to allocate memory but failing every time. Finally, it just gives up.
Is there anyway to make it work or did it only run on WM5 and doesn't work on WM6?
If it is hopeless, then what other alternatives do I have?
Thank you for your time.
edit: I think...I figured it out...and it's because...I'm an idiot. I'm guessing I have a Windows Mobile 6.1 Smartphone...
Doh.
Doesn't seem like many options for Smartphones.
