Ok guys, so WM6 on Tornado exists (currently running on my device as we speak). But there are quite a few things we need to sort out before it can be released 'En Masse' Before this time I will ignore ALL PMs asking for the ROM.
There is a WM6 comments/suggestion/speculation thread HERE. Feel free to put in requests for embedded apps etc, but please realise we won't be able to put in EVERYTHING. So when the ROM is at a more completed stage we will draw up a shortlist for the apps etc to be embedded and let you vote it out
Current Issues:
Still has identifying build numbers etc to my source
Doesn't sync at all with a PC but will sync over exchange
It says WM5 with MSFP when its really WM6 (OS 5.2.xxx)
No Camera
No MMS
Issues fixed:
Wifi not accessable - new comm manager
No Office (fixed with a cab)
No t9 - updated to xT9 with 14 languages (fixed with a cab)
WLM is still beta and so needs removing and then updating (fixed with WLM RTM cab)
Things we need from a Tornado WM5 ROM
Camera.exe with all the mui extensions
Lets keep this thread clean, ok? I don't want sh!t loads of n00bs saying "where can I download ROM?". So, before you ask, here's my answer. YOU CAN'T DOWNLOAD IT UNTIL ITS FINISHED!!!!
If a mod could remove such posts i'd be forever grateful
Please only post if you have information regarding how to fix the issues I've outlined above.

So... i am Alex from ronswens forum. i promise to fix that if you give me the rom and you can contact me via ICQ .. we need at least 3 tests - first, we upgrade xip, then new os build and then fix the camera...

I think this is the sort of n00b-ish comment jm012a9749's trying to avoid in this thread.
I mean, honestly, do you think he believes he's the only one to have attained a tornado version? Come on...
Look, this guy is aware of Duke's efforts, heck we all are, but the more people who get involved, the more efficiently we can get a polished product. There's no guarantee that Duke nor jm012a9749 will be able to do anything, so why should any of us sit back and not get involved? Besides, Duke himself has mentioned that he needs help since he's not an experienced Rom cooker.
Sorry for the rant here, but this sort of attitude really bothers me. Saying "oh, someone's already doing that, sit back and don't waste your time" is why certain projects never see the light of day...

you can fix activesync by replacing the usbfn.dll file.

as usual, ronswens.jconserv.net. as for active sync, i remember those early builds missed actsync.dll.. but better give me the rom, i will use build 17xxx from excalibur and drivers, camera, t9 etc from wm5

Exactly, since day 1 I've been working with duke_stix to help get a working version of crossbow. However now that I've made some progress and actually HAVE a device myself to test on, I felt it was nessary to start a new thread dedicated to it rather than the old dump rom thread

Hi, I found this camera software. Its the one they using in WM6 i think. (Its kinda like the one on my Vox) Im using it on my tronado, and it works with some cert fixes.

Also does anybody have the Arcsoft MMS client? I've been searching for a while now but no dice. Also could do with the default windows task manager as well.

You can have the WIFI option appear on its current Comm Manager thru Registry.. i have tried it and it worked.. but anyway, glad the new Comm Manager worked also..
The new comm manager also has flight mode, beam and IP Phone buttons on it

You can't open the Sound in Settings (Settings - Sounds)
Culprit could be the file soundsgsm.cpl.xml on /windows/ directory

Sorry for the confusion I was not aware that "NO THRILLS" which is what I originally called this Basic ROM was someones 'Trade Mark'. Please forgive me for stepping on any toes, it was not intentional, and not intended to take away from anyones well earned glory. Sorry all!!.
So Here it is:
This is my first ROM I've put up for Download. I've been playing about with these ROMs for quite a while and I have really appreciated everyones help in developing wonderful tools and freely distributing them here.
XDA-Developers is just brillient
So This ROM is based on the latest ATT build (3.55.502.1) I have removed all of the ATT bloat ware, and several applications listed below, and left the ROM open for customizing. I have often found that Most ROMS have only the 5 tab Home, and the older Task Manager etc, so I have removed all traces of these applications and simply left the ROM barebones, so people can just add applications as needed.

This ROM does run 2 additional small Cabs after first installed, these are adding small settings for the ATT network. These Cabs DO NOT AFFECT any none ATT users. Hence this ROM can be used on all carriers that I am aware of.
This ROM is compatible with all the 1.65 Radios. I have not Tried the 1.58 yet, but I have tried the new 1.71 Radio and that one is also compatible with this ROM.
Voice Command and all the OFFICE applications are still there, as is NETCF2.0
I have uploaded two copies, one with the radio, and one without.
I am planning on doing a fully loaded ROM soon based on this acrhitecture.

I called this ROM a NO THRILLS Rom. Sorry for any confusion but this rom is in no way associated with the Master Chef "NoThrills". Please forgive me if I mis-represented this ROM. I simply ment that it was a stripped down ROM with only Basic Apps installed. In England where I am originally from No Thrills means just that, "very basic". Which is why I used the term. I was not aware until recently that "NoThrills" was a xda members name.
However, NOTATreoFan is dead right its "No Frills" I was thinking of. Doh!!!!! Trust me I program better than I apparently speak !!!
Sorry for the confusion NoThrills. Please don't hate me, i'm just stupid

This isnt the "No Thrills" that you think it is, it looks like we have a new chef which is great but I agree that this should prob be changed from "No Thrills" that is of course you want a cluttered thread with questions like the above. Its always nice to have another chef though, Ill give it a whirl if I get the time.

Like yourself...I'm anxiously trying and struggling to become a avid chef in cooking ROMs. Is it possible that you could direct a noobie like me to a tutorial or Wiki about what steps you took to take out most of the different AT&T apps and such? This is something I've been trying to do for some time now and have failed at almost every attempt. Any help would be greatly appreciative so that I can further my cooking expertise. If you don't know where to find information could you possibly post a Wiki or tutorial on how you done it yourself?
EDIT: Can someone mirror this through MegaUpload? Rapidshare keeps giving me an error.

I'm not sure if there is a quicker way to do it, but for me it was a case of locating each and every file for the apps not wanted and deleteing them. Then I went through each rgu file and removed all entries concerning the programs no longer installed. You also have to go through each provxml file to locate any references in there as well, otherwise the rom might develop instabilities. I also did some very minor dsm extractions.
My ROM will decomplie again, so if your looking for a basic architecture to begin on, download my rom and extract it.

What did you use to view the rgu, provxml files, and dsm files?
I keep getting an error saying that I'm already downloading a file from RapidShare when I try to download either version

Which files are you refering too :
I used notepad for the following files
.provxml
.rgu
and a HEX editor for:
.dsm
I can not report to much success with the dsm files. My knowledge of this area is limited. I was able to remove some lines that were not wanted, but some of the files did not translate well.

Having recently purchased an HTC Diamond2 and having tried "ChangeScreen", GSen", I've noticed my D2 isn't capable of rotating TouchFlo's 'Opening Screens' (like, "Programs" or "Contacts") and I haven't - even - been able to rotate my "Album" pictures.
As I've seen on LG Aren's (no publicity intended!) all icons rotates (beautifully, I thought) whenever the phone itself was rotated.
Is there a way to get it done in this version of TouchFlo?

To have TF3D rotating correct, you need another ROM.
Check out the cooked ROM's for Topaz. There are first ROM's out that support TF3D rotating and applications rotating.

You don't need another rom, it's a simply registry tweak which has already been posted on this forum. Use the search function!

The tweaks were not working on my TD2, that's why I proposed a new ROM. Seems depending on TF3D version the registry tweak is working or not.

I just installed the Sense 2.5 Energy 'Reference' ROM and i've been looking for the notepad.cab

I have a Niki100 with WM6.1.
All I am looking to do is update it to WM6.5.
I have been searching this forum for hours and am just getting lost and buried in posts but still can seem to find what I am looking for.
I do not use it as a phone ... I really only need the Storage card, Bluetooth, ActiveSync and the OS to function. I run a small app that I have developed that collects data via Bluetooth then dumps it to a PC later.
Can someone please point me in the right direction.
From what I have learned so far I need an RUU and a ROM. Are there such beasts for the Niki100 to get it to WM6.5 ?
