Hiya ppl
I would like to be recommened a ROM that fit my few, but yet important "demands"
Fast response, by fast i mean near-to-instant screen flip when keyboard is slided out, and near-to-instant program launch (You get the drift)
Finger friendly for every day use, standart UI is more stylus friendly than finger friendly.
Im sorry if this is "yet another one of those threads" but the forums is kinda "old" so theres soo many nice roms to choose from
//M
Flash flash flash till you find the ROM you want as it's personal preference on what ROM you will like.

Yea however i would assume that one could narrow it abit down so that i dont have to try out like 30 different roms ^^

Look at the post counts and you'll get a pretty good idea of which ROMs are most highly thought of. The "recommend me a ROM" question is tough because it's like asking which is "the best" flavor of ice cream or which hair color is best for a girl. Everyone has their own preferences.
I've tried many. I currently am using HyperDragon (2/4 edition) and it's working well for me. I've used about six versions of HyperDragon and liked them all. Have also liked a number of others that are currently in vogue. FWIW.

Before anyone starts to flame you, yah, you're going to have to try your own.
I've been running Phoenix 2.3 since it's been out (not very long), and to me, it's one of the best ROMs I've ever tried. Plus, the chefs are very active.
Best of luck.
I am a new kaiser user and tried around 15 ROMs and finally decided to go on with eOS from -888-. It is light and very stable stable. I also liked the fact that -888- is still supporting the ROM.
Another ROM, I liked, is naked edition of AthineOS v.3.2 BlackStone:20757 from b16b. It is also a light ROM with lots of memory available. I wish the cook continued supporting the ROM.
I must say that I appreciate the efforts from all our genius cooks. However, as said before, you need to find the one that suites your taste.
The only other thing I will suggest - if you're going to try out a bunch of ROMs, familiarize yourself with Sashimi. Makes the customization job a ton easier.
The only thing you can do is to look at each ROM, look at its reviews, and try it yourself. The mods HATE this kind of thread and will come down on you with an iron fist.
Read Jimmy's announcement at the top, sir.
i wish i were a mod so my cat would actually work.
ASK HTC OR M$ for a rom recomendation
U have to look and read as this thread is ROM development not ROM RECOMEND
NEXT TIME post the question somewhere else
MODS SHOULD move this thread
My cat works fine thank you:

I'm partial to Crossbow Reloaded v1.5
I think all the newer WM6 roms are very good and so much more stable and dependable than the early releases. So find one that fits your needs and go for it
10.2.0.8 NBD (Not Big Deal) WWE - v5.3
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299821
I've tried most of the ROM's. I like this one the best, it's the one I always go back to after trying the latest from others.
For me Wizard Moblie 6 Business Edition v.2 is the fastest, most stable and bug-free. Only thing bothering me is amount of memory, ~24 Mb free ram, after installing favourite programs and plugins.
In fact, You said that the main differences between them, is about the "package s bundle" and some tweaks !
Difficult to make a choice, maybe I'll look for cooking my own rom but I'm pretty sure that my wife will disagree
I'll wait for a most representative poll result (maybe a little week, I dunno)
You really take care of a poll??
Sorry - but what if teh poll brings you to a rom - you don´t like because full with stuff you don´t need?
Or it leads to a clean one and you have to install everything on your own.
Believe me - try them.
No ROM is made for one person especially and they ALL have pros and cons.
BUT they are all desingned by the best Romcookers in this Forum.
Btw: Thanks for all this great versions.
Find your way.
mUn_BR_4.0.0.0 is a base rom and i don't suggest it for first timers.

I 2nd this, I am cooking my own rom, as it is surted to what i would like. It is better to use the kithen and cook your own Rom. There is now a tool that will take any rom dump and put everything in to folders for you. So its a case now, that you can take any Rom and play with it with out problems. So the NOOB can become the all loved Chef if he wants!!!
COOK YOUR OWN ROM, IT'S SO MUCH BETTER
Have it how you want, not how the chef wants.
Its easier then you think!
UNDERGRUND for me, after having tried them all
Cheers
i think its blackdiamand 3.0 but its everyone for its self

I simply had it with all these "which rom is the best" polls.
Try a few and stick to the one you like. Don't let mr X and mr Y to tell you what you want. You can make that choice by yourself.
Read the ROM thread, see what applications has inside and try the ones that you think are more suitable to your needs. Plus that there are countless threads like this one out there.
I consider it spam or at least "let's give the chefs a reason to fight over this."
If anyone has a problem with me closing this thread, please pm me and maybe we can discuss it further.
So, for those of us that are a little slow...
What is it about Dutty's ROMs that make people go CrAzY over them?
I'm looking for specifics. Why do people love Dutty's ROMs sooooo much? What makes them so much better than say Q-mobile or Alex's ROMs?
I just get the feeling that I am missing something that everyone else knows about why Dutty's stuff is so popular compared to the other ROMs.
There has to be a good reason... anyone care to clue me in?

Dive on in and find out for yourself. Some people don't like his ROM's others do as you can see. There are some really great Chefs out there and they all make really good ROM's. You should flash to see which ROM you prefer more. As some ROM's have specific drivers that only work with radio 1.27.14.09.
whats great about any cooked rom is tha the cook who created it shares it with us!!!!!
Theres nothing about, every cook on here is great. Every cook has their own style, the tweaks, the softwares...
But Dutty's is very popular, because we have alot of new members, they just learned how to flash, and now they need roms. Dutty's rom, has the the biggest threads, everyone makes it exciting, and the new members join his thread.
But I use Dutty's and Schaps, both great roms.
Hey sorry to drive this thread into hell, but does it take super C++ skills to do this or is it just "simply" putting things together then compiling it?
I didn't like Duttys roms BTW, I love what he is doing and I like he has provided us with some OEM CABS, but his rom isn't for me I liked Shaps because it came with a bunch of stuff to customize it to the limits.

Theres a rom tool now Makes cooking alot easier. To me its about making everything flow together, make sure one software doesn't mess the other up, and getting the right tweaks.
I've tried a few roms and I always go back to dutty roms he always includes applications I use and his tweaking has been really to my liking compared to others
dutty's roms are cool, but i perfer a lite rom and to put my own apps on it . i think most people like dutty's rom because they use the same apps that dutty builds in, + the speed! But, i perfer the highest benchmark results! thats what makes me choose the rom.
Dutty's rom may not be the best rom for you. But he is the most hardworking rom maker here and always comes up w/ latest software. In addition, he is very responsive to questions too.
i second that notion

I agree with raz and I also encourage testing other ROM's as well to find out whats best for you, and our attitude should be: show appreciation (donations or a thank you, people should know that making a ROM takes a lot of effort) and making positive criticisms of flaws; not to personalities ; that benefits the whole Kaiser community.
@ekw: Which lite ROM do you use?

hey i'm new to ppc and pda's. i got a toch diamond and using dutty rom v4. its fast and i like it. also just want to say thanks to xda. you guys run a very good site. oh one other thing i noticed is that my diamond used to have only 85mb storage space but after the rom update i got 115mb
Also fans of Dutty's ROM (Dutty's WM6.1 WWE), for me, just 2 words "fast and stable", like raz said, Dutty's cooked all his ROM well.
I wish he come and upgrading his ROM
beautiful rom...

Secondly, since dutty has released a Kaiser rom in well over a year, isn't it time we close this thread. The Kaiser rom forum is cluttered enough without having to read new posts about how people with Diamonds and HD's love duttys roms
Hey guys / gals..
My girlfriend saw what I did to my phone, and fell in love with it.... but she wants it to look more, girly. I know i know...
So, are there any good roms floating around, that have a pink / purple look to them? Just curious....
or could I install the new duttys rom and get it to look more girly using some program?
Any info is helpful, thanks
Try Schaps ROMs. Here is a WM 6.1 one. These ROMS are good...and have lots of Purple in them
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=364048
Try Schap's. His trademark is the purple theme and skins... =)
Well, the Schaps ROM is as purple as they come!
And it's a very stable, well designed ROM - try 4.40 for WM 6.1
EDIT: These three posts came up at the same instant! That's why they are so repetitive

Dude,
Why dont you download ROM that you are familiar with so that if your girl want you to do some tweaking or ask you help on this and that, at least you know the ROM and save yourself from embarrassing moments not knowing how to answer your girl's question.
Then, look for themes that looks pinkish or have flowers or anything girlish. Rite?

You beat me to that answer. Windows 6.1 roms have some "nice!" home themes too that can be used.
I would also recommend you check out _Alex_ roms. He has done a lot of hard work, research and tends to answer any questions about his roms. He is not out for fame and his feet are firmly on the ground so I would whole heartily recommend trying out perhaps his Multimedia rom or his home rom. Ask your girlfriend to write a list of specs she wants from her htc. Then go shopping for the best rom. Once you have done that then hunt down some home screen cabs with the colours she wants.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=363865
Alex roms seem more stable than any others I have tried and I have tried a great deal. Also the above link has a great deal of info and images and a easy to follow wiki specific to his roms etc.
All the best

Good information, thanks I suppose I could just skin the ones she has... but I figured i'd see if there were any out there already done up. Skinning only changes SOME things... wasnt sure if there were any roms out there that would change the calc and dialpads to some "pretty" colors lol.
Anyway, thanks for the help.. think i got my answer(s).
Try to get her to do the flashing/installing. In this way we will atleast have a flashing addict with a girl that likes it too.
I guess there are not many of us around that can say, our girls/wives like flashing
Here's a great site with zillions of themes:
http://www.pocketthemes.com/download.php?op=viewdownload&cid=1
Install SPB Mobile Shell....you can use colors like red, green, pink, etc.....
Along with Schaps Rom as you can see is the #1 suggestion
I know I will probably get flamed for this, but I just won a Tmobile MDA on ebay and saw these roms for the Wizard. I have had other phones before and have always updated them using new roms, but I just can't see which one of these roms seem the best. There are so many. So I just wanted to ask everyone what they thought was the best one and why. So far I like the looks of the WizFlo 20273, but have read that it has bluetooth problems. There is also tnt and m2d and others but I have not read one where it is just a good overall rom with not many problems. I have tried reading some of the threads but when they are 40 pages long it is hard to keep up. Any info would be great.
Without flaming and/or passing judgement, the answer is quite simple. What is the best rom - none and all.
depends greatly on your taste - your needs, and what is out there.
First and foremost make sure you know what you have - G3 or G4, read and understand the unlocking and updgrading procedures for both. Lots of stickies on the top of the board with unlocking procedures, upgrading procedures. If you are not familiar with these - then they are the 40 plus page posts you need to take the time to read.
Congrats on getting the phone - now make sure it does not become an expensive paper weight.
Start with a TNT rom - see what you like, and do not like - just make sure that for any TNT rom, upgrade your radio to 2.19
From there - get creative, and flash, flash, flash.
If I may offer some advice - if your are not a chef, then respectfully try all that is offered. Offer constructive criticism on what works and does not work. Appreciate the efforts - and go from there.
But again, no simple answer - no best available. The best is the one you stick with - that meets your needs.
Best of luck
The ROM I keep coming back to is jwzg's 'Business Edition':
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=376667&highlight=business
Also very nice is mfrazz's 'XDA Mobile 6', the last version is version 5:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355591&highlight=mfrazz
I've had nothing but problems with TNT roms.
The only real new thing to come onto the Wizard scene since those two ROMs were new is the HTC Home/Manila2D interface. It's nice but if you want HTC Home you can add it to any ROM via a download and so far, all the Manila2D ROMs have issues that I don't want to deal with. Once some of them are a little more mature I'll probably give them another chance.
ill give my 2 cents. havent posted on the forums and thought i would chime in as to Ive tried many of the roms on the forum. they are all great roms and lots of time put into cooking them and so far the best rom is the AMP v2 rom. ive tried many of the tnt and nothing but problems. also have tried the slims and the diamonds with problems too. you would just have to try which one best fits you!
Cali J
Well, I personally love the TNT series of ROMs, and have nothing but problems with the AMP releases, so the opposite of you all! But you may find my thread at the top of this forum section usefull, "Wizard ROM Features, Programs etc ect" or something like that, its a list of most all of the ROMs and what they have/dont have and my impressions of them, as well as download links.

Agree - wife has been running the latest TNT for a month or so now, no issues - uses phone day in day out, no issues.
Have proven to be pretty solid for us also
Cheers !!
I'm using the Wizflo ROM before their landscape update. The Landscape version had some problems with my phone, i.e. after being on for a couple hours the phone would become too slow to operate correctly (even with OMAP overclocking).
Wizflo was great for me b/c i wanted touchflo 2D and a fast ROM. I was flashing ROMs for the last month or so because i wasnt happy with any of the ROMs i flashed, but now I've stuck to the Wizflo ROM
I dont know of any bluetooth errors, because i don't use bluetooth all that much. I don't use all the features of TF2D also, like the audio manager and maps search. But i recommend this ROM.
btw, WOW on winning a wizard. I am jealous =P

DUDE! top of the forum in the stickies there is a thread called ROM REVIEWS. (I'm not yelling)
Everyone has their own taste and experiences. TNT isn't too bad seems to be the "favorite" of the masses at the very least. But like someone else said try them all out once you get flashing it doesn't take long at all to switch between each rom. After you have unlocked and everything.
I ended up using Manilla 2D Brushed by Noonski. But even then I found that I like v12 alot better than the newer versions. I still try each new version but ultimately I come back to the older one. So make sure to try older Roms as well they may be just what you are looking for!
Try Wizflo, It's very good for Wizard, I am using it now.
Lol, I remember that my first post in this forum was exactly this question and everybody kicked my a*s...
Well I will not do the same... I tried several roms that I found interesting and now I'm stick to AMPv2 (and waiting for a new stable version).
My recommendation is: read, read and read every post in every rom that you find interesting and then (after reading a lot) try them.
Also, please, read, read, read and read (and read again) all rom flashing procedures and tools to avoid the second natural question "how can I recover from the color-strips screen?" or worst "How can I recover a bricked wizard?"...
It is quite simple flashing roms... so please read, read and read... and follow the steps that you're reading...
Regards and welcome to xda-devs forum
go for amp - the best one

Before the flames start (and I believe they will - this question is asked too frequently), let me give you my take on this...It's like asking which flavor of ice cream is your favorite. You'll get dozens of different answers and none of them will be right and none will be wrong. Which is best for your purposes? If it's not stable, it doesn't stay around long and you'll know it by responses in the threads. There are several on the front page because they stay on the front page because people are using them and asking/responding to questions.
Spend some time in the ROM's thread determining if it meets your general needs. Then try it out for several days. If it doesn't work for you...try something else. That's how many of us got to things.
FWIW - I use HyperDragon and love it.

The answer is MBV Solace V.1.5 and soon the much faster Solace 2 which is in beta RC11 right now! You're gonna love it!
instead of these threads that just take up space. We should just have a simple poll that should be displayed so that everyone will have their answer.
a new thread shouldnt have even been started for this question! i've seen threads before asking this and the mods closed them! but the best annswer is test out several and then decide and before you ever start a new thread know the rules about starting one first!

I agree with the general consensus.... I've been through Hyperdragon, NATF, DK8, etc, and quite a few others. You need to decide for yourself which one is best, or build your own with all the options out there. Only you know exactly what you want.
I personally like Hyperdragon, and have literally a DVD full of software for it. I don't necessarily like the TF2 or TF3 as my needs go elsewhere.
I have taken suggestions from all the threads and am working on a ROM based on what I need. Speed & audio are very important to me. Photos and Videos- Not so much
Thank You for listening
