Auto rotate disables multi touch? - G1 Android Development

Im on jf v. 1.43 and when I installed Kousch's auto rotate browser I think I lost the multi touch functionality. Is there any way to enable it again without going back to no auto rotate?

Nevermind I had no idea that the browser in 1.43 already had autorotate lol, mods please delete this thread

Problems with auto rotate in jf 1.5

About a month ago I dropped my phone and the screen wouldnt rotate anymore. It was stuck in the keyboard open view so I rooted it with jf 1.42 and downloaded droid sans tweak tools so I can use auto rotate and it worked. Now i recently flashed to jf 1.5 and turned on the orientation setting and now the auto rotate feature is not working! Can anyone help me with this??
by defaul in jf 1.5 the autorotation is not enabled, you have to go settings, sound and display and the check Orientation...check if it work for u.
Auto rotate will only work when an app is open in JF 1.5. If kind of bugged me at first too. But i like it better now.
i checked orientation and it still does not work, even when im in an app
same here
I have the exact same problem, no solution just wish sansdriod still worked.
A stupid question, others are not having this problem (myself included) so it is not a problem with the build, but have you tried a wipe of the device, and if that doesn't work after the wipe reload the JF1.5 (re-flash it).
Just something to try, because you should be able to get it to work.
Could be you rattled something loose inside the device, too, and the accelerometer bounced around a little too harshly when you dropped it...
Suggestions have pretty much been covered. If all of them fail, I would suspect hardware damage.

Rotation mod

I noticed that in froyo you are able to rotate your phone both waya to get landscape but in 2.1 your limited to only turning your phone to the left.
How can we mod 2.1 to allow rotation both ways?
Most 2.1 ROOTED roms have this. Open up Settings>Sound & Display> Orientation.

Yes but screen only rotates one way. I want it to rotate both ways
CM 5.0.7-DS lets you go all four ways!
What about the other way around? I'm on 2.2 and I don't want it to change orientation if I rotate it the other way.

I'd like to be able to change the rotation trigger angle.
Quite often I find it rotates prematurely, when I'm not trying to rotate it...
Any ideas?
Id also like a less jarring rotate like there was in 1.5-6.
Hopefully its possible.

I upgraded from official froyo to Dj Steves 1.7.0 on dell streak in singapore. i have some problems with the home and applications screen unable to rotate into potrait mode anymore. it stays only in landscape mode. is this normal or how can i fix it?
anyone able to help or give information??
well i cant be sure because i dont know the build, but it sounds like a problem with that build, go back to your old mod or another new one....if u just really want that mod, try reinstalling it just dont back up again keep the back up you already have

Hi,
It would be better to modify the orientation to portrait and then check the box above for "System Persistent". It will gray out the orientation but lock it to any orientation you selected. ADW will no longer auto-rotate, but most apps will still auto-rotate to landscape.
I’m sure it will solve the problem.
that too, good call
