Remove clicking sounds

wm2005 is really a big step forward. However, I have a big problem with the clicking sounds when you choose a menu or an application. I wanted to remove those 2 sounds, but that's impossible since these are in Rom.
I can't find anything how to remove this hoorible clicks. I hope that someone has a suggestion.
thx
Why don't you just uncheck sounds fo "Events (warnings, system events) from the Sounds and Notifications in the Personal Settings?
I'm wondering if it's possible to change that clicking sound to another sound of my choice . . . Can any of the Tech Guru's Please Help ?
There is a way, you would have to search your device for the original sounds, back them up and override them with your own.
as long as you know the name of the sound you want to change; it's possible. for me, i changed the normal beep sound when the "G" icon comes up after a soft reset (GPRS). the name of that sound is "default". what i did was took a wav file i wanted to use, from my laptop i renamed it to "default", copied and pasted it to the windows folder of my unit. there will be a menu pop-up question saying something like "the file "default" already exists, do you want to replace it?" click ok and there you go; the default sound is different. the other built in sounds can be seen when you go to your sounds and notifications folder. example; the activesync sound can be changed by choosing from the drop down menu. these are the built in sounds; you can change the actual wav file by putting in a sound with the same name (like the one i did for the default sound). i think what you can't do is change the name of the built in sound...
hope that helps.
Yes , thank-you guys it works Gr8 . Only thing is that you need to use another file explorer like Resco etc etc if you want to replace the system sound cuz the built in Explorer won't allow it .

Custom Sliding Sounds
I would like to know if it is possible to change the sliding sounds on the Vox (wife's phone) as on a PocketPC. I have a T-mobile wing and have this down for my phone. If I try to overwrite the current sounds I get a access denied error and I tried to look for the registry keys but they are not in the same location as on a PocketPC. A nudge in the right direction would be appreciated.
On a side note, is there a Network Wizard for the smartphone? All I can find on here are the versions for the PocketPC.
Thanks in advance.
Custom Sliding Sounds
After some searching I finally found a solution.

This is for the S720, but I did this on the Vox with no problems.
-------------------------------------------------
First you will require your new custom sound files.
16 Bit 44Khz stereo PCM wave works nicely (this is the format that windows used for it's existing files)
You will need three files total:
4.wav - the "sample" sound. Duplicate either in or out file
4_in.wav - The keyboard slide in sound
4_out.wav - The keyboard slide out sound
Next copy them to your windows directory on your phone.
Then you will require a Registry editor (Ghisler Total Commander for example)
And navigate to HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\
There are three keys here you have to change.
SlidingSound - Change the value of sound to 4.wav
SlidingOut - Change the value of sound to 4_out.wav
SlidingIn - Change the value of sound to 4_in.wav
And presto, your phone should now be using your custom sound files instead of the boring windows ones.
- Keep in mind: If you visit your sound settings in windows to change anything (such as default ring tone or alarm/reminder sounds) as soon as you hit done, windows will reset it to whatever sliding sound was previously listed, you'll have to go back and re-edit them on your own but it's the small price to pay for custom ring tones.
-----------------------------------------------------
I now have something besides the standard sliding sounds.

How to add a media controller to WM 6.5 lockscreen?

Hello,
is there a way to control my music(Windows Media Player) without unlocking my device? For example when i open WMP and lock my device, when i want to change song, an icon appears(like the SMS or missed call unlockers) and when i slide that, play pause forward etc. appears. I want something like that. i hope somebody can do that
thanks in advance
(ps: my english is not so good, maybe i did some mistakes, sorry for them.)
Would really like this too.

App that makes white noise?

i'm just curious if someone has or could make an app that can make a phone like the htc pro act like a white noise machine. all it would have to do is loop some peaceful sounds like the ocean or whatever and have a button to toggle the screen off. this would be great for me, but i dont know the first thing about developing, so i'm looking for a little help, thanks
why not just get a sound sample you like and run it in the media player- the center of he dpad (go to setting to change it) in windows media player can toggle the screen on/off while continuing to play in the background.
thats a good idea, but i just found a program called pocket Oscillator that is supposed to create a kind of white noise so ill just try that. its an older program, but should still work to some degree.
I could try to find a sample of Ice, Ice Baby for you, would that help?

Custom Menu Sounds

So i figured it would be pretty cool if you could customize the android menus to make navigation/selection sounds similar to those from Legend of Zelda.
I've already got all the menu sounds such as cursor moving and item selection as mp3s.
But how would i go about actually adding the sounds?
I'm on a Desire Z with Cyanogen 7 btw.
1. u will need to convert sound from .mp3 to .ogg
2. u will need to be rooted and go into system/media/audio/ui
3. You will need to replace the sounds with files of the same name though. Different sound but same file name.
use this for help...

The only sound it lets me change is the "effect_tick" sound.
My phone doesn't make any other sounds when i enable it in the Settings menu.
Is that just a Cyanogen thing?
Also is it possible to be more specific when changing system sounds? Like making a sound when scrolling through different screens? Or pressing the Back button?
No the only sounds u can change are the one in the ui folder... NO scrolling or back button.. look at it like this.. if it has a sound u can change it...
