so I’ve been paying attention to all of these threads and I think I’ve got ICR working (the first link worked pretty good. The other person is not very loud though). What I would LOVE is if I could get
ICR to start automatically for every call I make and receive. Is there any reg edit or program that will do this for me. The reason for this is I have a brain like Swiss cheese, I can’t remember anything. If I can record every phone call without having to remember to hit the record button every time, this phone will be able to do one more thing that makes my life that much easier.

In another thread someone sugested resco. it has the feature i want, but the recording is terrible. it records through the mic. i just wish i could get thhat feature with ICR.

Somewhere in the blackstone forum someone posted a registry tweak that would let resco use the default ICR component, so properly record the other end of the convo, cant remember the topic though, sorry! (just letting you know its possible)
There was some tweak whereby you used the built in ICR first, and then use the resco product, and it worked, not too sure though.
Cheers,
Mike.

I looked and looked. couldn't find anything using the terms "resco" and "record". i'm about to flash juicy 4.13 and will try resco again on a fresh flash. i hopehopehope it works. anyone have any other ideas?

Anyone know if ICR is working for the Vogue or any other QVGA device?

I know it's not free, but Vito Audio Notes is doing that for me. Every incoming and outgoing call is recorded without any user intervention. And without any anoying beeps. And quality of both sides of the converastion is perfect.
Cheers,
Cacti

well, after flashing juicy 4.13 i tried resco again with the same results. this is so frustrating. resco has the feature i want, just not the ability. ICR has the ability, just not the feature. anyone have any ideas?

i'll check it out. just hope the quality is good. with resco i tested out on my voicemail and the playback was really low, but when i talked it was so loud it was distorted

vito working very good
vito is very good recorder but it has some minuses like if during a call i press power button to turn off screen it doesn't record cause its like suspend mode so i have to use s2u2 to turn screen off and record same time...
...except this vito is the best!

I think full duplex (both ways @ same time) I couldn't test it.. waiting for my TC.
I am using Resco Recorder and only my voice will be recorded...
If you have it on loudspeaker it will pick up 2 way conversation. In handset mode it will only record your voice not the callers, well it does but very very quietley.
Unless someone knows different how to do this.
M.
Several people mentioned Vito AudioNotes... sorry, I can't say it will work, though... still waitin' for my polaris
Don't bother trying Vito AudioNotes, just tried it, it only records one side, just like the rest of the apps. And yea, i know this is an old thread, but someone may wanna know this anyway.
Is there a solution for 2side call records on Polaris yet?

In Call Recording (ICR) is working on Raphael

Starting a new thread is always questionable but this is something quite new
and it seems that still many people don't know about ICR-breakthrough on HTC devices. As I know, the first working ICR on HTC was in some custom HD-ROM and smart people managed to extract necesary contents and built cabs from it. For those who want theory and more info - search HD and Diamond forum.
Something important: all the glory belongs to those who extracted parts from the HD-ROM and gave following files to us. I only put those files and my experiences with it together for Raphael owners.
I tried to get it working on my stock 1.9 ROM but no succes after so many attempts so it might seem it doesn't work on it - but I'm not sure. I always achieved only recording both sides via mic.
Now, when I flashed the elite-RC3 I tried few steps and it really works. It works the "inner-way", absollutely not via mic, recordings are clear and very good quality! Some steps are probably redundant but .. I made it this way and it works..
1. install this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=145688&d=1231739428
(it's from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3155880&postcount=87 )
2. extract this to windows directory:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=145698&d=1231743323
(it's from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3156069&postcount=91 )
3. soft reset
4. make a call and start recording when calling from dialer's menu - it won't work now,but do it
5. uninstall the cab from step nr. 1
6. soft reset
7. install this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=145741&d=1231759945
(it's from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3156859&postcount=10 )
8. soft reset ..and it should work
Why install and then uninstall? Maybe this is redundant but it seems it makes some needed changes to registry - but you can try it without it, I will NOT hard-reset my Raphael to figure out
Btw I had problems with Resco audio recorder, it didn't recognize end of the call and device crashed many times. Vito Audio notes touch works great.
EDIT:
step 0. for those who still can't see the record option in dialer: you can try one from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3124498&postcount=76
Anyone who tries any method leave a comment here please (with ROM version you have) so the ROMs-developers can obtain this info and eventually add ICR to their new ROMs. Thanks
EDIT2:
------
ROM-specific sollutions based on your feedback:
-elite-RC3: install the latest update from elite-RC3 thread - that's all
-NATF 4.0 & 4.1: use method in post #29 (or #63 - with no dialer included = for 3rd party audio recorders only)
-RomeOS2 1.60.2: use method in post #37 or #89
-stock 1.93: use method in post #29
-2.01.415.3 WWE: use the first (multistep) method above
--still no luck for stock 1.90, NATF 4.2 and any CDMA-ROM
--results with other ROMs weren't reported (or maybe I overlooked them - let me know)
Very appetizing but a bit too experimental and scary. Anyone else tried this?
Will uninstallation restore stuff?
Let us know if anyone gets this to work on a ROM other than Elite-RC3.
interesting method and I think i know some of the reasons why it works, I may have an alternative but I want compare first. Thanks for sharing
The method i use is just install monx's cab and then go to the registry HKLM\Software\HTC\ICR\Recmicgain (don't know the exact title) delete it and soft reset.
Where is the audio saved?
I have a Titan lying around that I can try it on if you think it will work on that. If it's experimental, I'll wait to install it on my Touch Pro. It's not activated, but I can call *611 and record that conversation.
Okay, I did everything written above to the "T". It didn't work on the Titan (maybe it's different for the Touch Pro). I didn't run into any critical problems, it just didn't record. When I try to record, I noticed the audio from the call goes out, and comes back on when I stop recording. When I play the recording, I only hear the input from the mic. This is the case with the standard notes recorder, and with Vito Audio Notes.
If someone wants to try it on their Touch Pro, let us know if it works!
tried on my TP....didn't work for me. I have v5 of the slide to answer Touch HD phone pad. I know the post only shows v4, but I grabbed a copy before he pulled v5 and since it worked, i didn't bother to load v4. Maybe this is why I don't see a record option anywhere? Do I need v4.......do I need to load up vito notes? thanks ...

you should have ICR control panel in programs menu after installation. There you can configure recording format and if you want to save recordings to main memory or to storage card. But I recommend to use some other - autorecording app.
Important notice: some people reported that they have to run ICR from dialer once to enable recording in other apps. It's uncertain if this has to be done after each soft reset..
For those who want to try this with other ROM : you must install some other dialer, I didn't have the recording option in the original one. As I remember, I installed S2A dialer from somewhere and it had this option.

followed the above procedures again after installing v4 of the dialer posted above and I still don't see an option to record during a phone call. Do I have to click on note or something? Strange....
has anyone tried this on a CDMA TP?
no luck on Verizon raphael
I tired this on my Vierzon Touch Pro but I get the same results. The other side is faint because it's being recorded via the microphone and not internally. How do you get the phone to record the audio internally and not via the mic? I did everything the original poster said. I'm using the scrosler 3.0 ROM.
This worked for me. No problems yet. Although I might add, both times it recorded correctly. When you said to record it, it would not work, but do it anyways. It seemed to work for me. Thought I'd let everyone know.

It really looks like it's working only on some ROMs. Obviously some new components the elite-ROM developers used are required. Something from HD-ROM?
Anyway if someone next gets it to work please leave comment here with info which ROM & Radio you have.

VITO Audionotes does not work

It does not work on HD2. Other parties' voice could not be recorded. Any soulution or replacement?
Tks in advance!!
+1
I installed the cab 2_Way_In_Call_Recording available somewhere on xda. It works a little bit better, but the voice of the callee is very very low.
It can be made to work with a few registry changes (on my TP2).
I sent the list of changes to Vito, so check with them.
I do not have the list with me right now.
I'll check back in about 12 hours to see if anyone still wants my list of changes.
awaiting for your help!!! Tks in advance!

Kind regards,
Bert
After trying almost every available piece of software (including Vito) and failing miserably, I came to the conclusion that it might be sea Windows Mobile build issue.
However, the above post about TP2 may suggest something else. Let's wait and see.
Xorgeo,
If you could share your registry tweak to make Audio Notes work, it would be awesome.
Thanks.

Thanks Xorgeo,
I actually have these values already in my registry... I guess it's what the 2_Way_In_Call_recording cab does.
This registry tweak works, but the callee's voice seems quite low.

Maybe it is picking up the callee from the microphone. My guess is that when you use the speaker-phone it is much loader.
I don't know how to fix it, but it is my guess that "There may be a registry change for that".
Thank you...

Ultimate Start - new Start Menu and Skype audio routing

Guys, there is one very good application released on PocketGear. I have it on my s740 and apart from being perfect new Start Menu with some very very useful features it can route audio to an earpiece when Skype is active. Also it has Task and Process Manager and it is fully animated. Just wanted to let you know.
Here are some screenshots and detail description.
Skype
by the way "it can route audio to an earpiece when Skype is active": long time ago I read a thread (I'm not sure if it was a Vox thread about skype problem. I think there was a way to find a solution without using ultimate start....
Unfortunately I can't find it again. Can anybody help how to use Skype without backside loudspeaker ? Or does anybody know in which tweak is the explanation to solve problem ?
Regards odiad

There is no tweak to do that. You need some application to do it for you. And there are not many applications that can do that. But that's just a bonus feature of Ultimate Start. Start Menu part of the application is really something.
hello Callah,
yes I saw that feature in Ultimate start. But I don't like the generell function - the modified start menu (I tried the demo version).
And so it don't make sense for me to buy this tool only to to fix Skype problem. Does anybody else a way or a tool to fix Skype earpiece bug? Would be nice if such a tool is freeware.
Regards Odiad
if you want skype and the earpiece:
Use Nimbuzz
Amazing multi messenger, supporting almost all im's AND skype AND SIP and uses the normal earpiece!!!

I would love to here what you don't like about the start menu. I find it very useful.
Thanks
Hi Callah,
my test of Ultimate Start was quite short because Demoversion of tool didn't allow so many process steps. But that was not so important.
One reason why I don't like the tool was that I prefer the start menu as a list, not grid view. But if Ultimate Start would be so excellent that I could say "wow thats it" - then I could also accept grid view.
And second reason was that in test, when I pressed start menu, I had to wait a little bit until start menu appears. And thats annoying for me. The S710 seems to be a little bit too slow to show good performance. I don't know if it is the same on all S710, but in case of my phone it was so (WM6.5.3 from fireburned).
So that are my reasons why I don't like it.

Thanks. What I like about it is T9 search of whole start menu. I don't know if you tried it. It is just like in Contacts. You can get to almost any application or bookmark in just 2-3 key presses.
That second reason you mentioned...I agree. Reason for slow start is probably because application is written in Compact Framework. But...good thing is that you need to wait that long only once when you turn on your phone (my phone is always on). After that application stays in memory just like default start menu and activates fast when you click Start again.
I have read some bad comments about UI on some forums, some people describing it as Windows 3.1 style. But I can't disagree more on that. I think it looks very good. But that maybe just a question of taste.
It looks like many developers are dropping prices (possibly because of WP7). This application is now only 1$, 80% off!

Voip ?

Hi all !
I want to use a voip application in my touch2, however, it's seams this functionallity was banned by htc.
does anyone achieved to install and work with it?
I tried to follow a tutorial, but it disconnect my gps radio ...
Try nimbuzz, it supports sip too.
Yes,
It may supports, but I don't achieve to get it working on my touch2.
Is there any other alternative?
I take PortSIP, this app works well.
Look for the portsipcabwm6.cab. This one is perfect for our Touch2.
You can use with all standard SIP-Provider. I use SPARVOIP, they are very cheap (for short calls free of charge) in germany and some other countries.
There is also a checkbox and then die Main-Speaker is disabled.
So you get no "speaker-problem", that´s absolute great.
Only the contact-Button causes a problem.
It looks like a softwar shutdown, but after you quit the message it works.
I confirm PortSIP good working program. Sound is output on the headset, but not speaker.
try skype 2
I tryed skype and works well.
portsip help please.
hello everyone, this is my first time i write in a forum and i hope i am doing so in the right place. Moderator please move post if needed.
First of all hi to everyone and thank you for sharing your knowledge with me too, without knowing in the past few months you all have been very helpful to me.
I have now a little problem with portsip that is driving me insane.
I have a HTC touch 2 (t3333 / mega) and i had installed portsip for voipstunt using wifi, Everything was working fine until 2 days ago. I was able to make calls to landlines as well as to other voipstunt users.
2 days ago everything went wrong, after a full day of trying, i found out that i can now make calls to landline only for it to work fine.
When i try to call an other voipstunt user it rings normally, from the otherside they can pick the phonecall up, but my mic would be mute so they cant hear me.
i tried everything, unistall and reinstall portsip and even hard reset the htc, nothing worked, it is like portsip doesnt see the htc microfone anymore, but only when calling an othe sip user, when calling a landline everything is fine.
could somebody help me please, i feel like giving up, and also it is very frustrating as everything was working perfectly, and i was very happy with it,now i feel like getting rid of it.
thank you in advance for your help.

nimbuz works with no problem on Touch 2 with sip feature< been making loads of calls via nimbuzz, alternativley there is a cab somehere native wm6.5 voip cab which works ok with schaps sipconfig tool but I dont recommend the wm6.5 cab as requires faffing around with dlls etc etc to get the codecs work on may sip providers etc etc. Nimbuz is very simple and works great if not you can always try fring I believe it has sip feature
