I want to pay a big compliment to all who try to bring android to the HTC devices and hope you can help me, to complie the Kernel on my on.
Following the instructions on http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BuildTheKaiserKernel I get an error when compiling. The output is:

I opened a new thread, because "Polaris Android Linux Kernel Development Project" seems quite messed up as any information related to this project is posted there and I find difficult/impossible to read the whole thread. Maybe, an own category should be created, where all the "Project-" related issues can be posted in own threads...
Found the solution to this problem: Use arm-2008q3 instead of 2008q1.

So what are you working on?
If I read the code right - I think wlan stuff is atm only available for Kaiser (progress being made but not fully functional) - it shouldn't be a huge problem to port it to Polaris (different gpio's?).
The bluetooth stuff should also be fairly easy (at least afair) - but thats only built-in for Nike atm (and also not working).
Wired Headset also "only" needs to be ported from Vogue.
Battery and Leds are also working on Kaiser but not Polaris.
Same goes for powering down the different screens and touchscreen improvements.
If you're interested in working on any of these issues - I can probably assist you in getting it done (best contact me throug PC or IM).

I upgraded my O2 XDA Mini-S last night to Windows Mobile 6. Since then the symbol keys are not correct as on the keypad (! = ~, @ = !, # = @, $ = # etc).
Can anyone help me sort this as it's really annoying lol.

We all have that problem, if i am correct. Of course there are "solutions" > registry tweak, but none worked for me. I tried few times on different roms, but without succes. It doesnt matter for me anymore, cause the symbils i need, i know where they are now.
Search for the Hades German language pack at xda-developers http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=288060 -- eventuell gibt es auch eine aktuellere Version. Damit hast du auch gleich deutsche Rechtschreibprüfung und SMS-Unterstützung T9 und so. Es gibt noch einen weiteren patch, google mal einfach danach. Hades pack läuft auch mit WM6.

i am searching for an German WM6.1 Rom and some .cab Files.
First the ROM: 6.1, german, small and fast. in the moment i use Maxstegi 4.7.
also im searching for the Cab files from "Resco Explorer, TomTom incl. Cards for Europe, and Sprite Backup.
Is there a chance to use the cam over Skype?

I think it´s a small and very fast base vor a good system - but is there a chance to get the soft keyboard in Qwertz instead of Querty?

Well, you must be quite new, too. Otherwise you would have noticed that this question has been asked quite a million times before. And usually people answer the way like: "It depends on what you want and like..."

Nevertheless I am so bold to give you two hints:
1. If you're not sure, use the pre- installed ROM.
2. If you are sure, give Maxstegi's a try. Still, if you don't like it, use the kitchen to adapt it to your needs!

Es gibt nur eines und das heisst maxstegi V5.2.
Hat aber noch immer zu viele Soft Resets. dafür kann man eine Vanilla Version mit der Kitchen ganz einfach selber machen.
Ich benutze Tomal 8.2, kann einfach mehr und läuft stabiler.

But still too many soft resets. This can be a vanilla version of Kitchen simply ourselves.
I use TOMAL 8.2, as more functions are included. And it runs more stable.

Hi, könntet ihr bitte Links zu den genannten ROMs angeben? Ich probiere gerade viel rum und hatte u.a. auch schon die 6.5.3 v4.3 ROM von Nokster drauf, aber ich habe eine deutsche Tastatur und außerdem lassen sich einige Programm nicht im 6.5.x installieren, deswegen möchte ich wieder auf die 6.1. zurück, aber eine angepasste.

First of all, excuse me that I have not translated my post. I just thought that only Germans would read this thread so that it wouldn't make a difference.
Thanks for the tip on universal ROMs, I didn't even know those existed. I took a look at some of them but from those I have checked, they are mostly for WM Pro (touchscreen devices) and quite heavy. Other than that it seems to be a good idea for me to try out some of them but I haven't seen any below the 64MB RAM requirement since the i600 is not equipped with that much power.
Since you happen to have read this, may I ask you if you can tell me how to change the keyboard layout? I have a German built SGH-i600 and I am using the Nokser 6.1 v2 ROM which is only providing the English keyboard mapping. So Y and Z are swapped and most of the Fn+combinations and symbols.
Any help is appreciated.

Seems like that should say 101Mb of program memory and something like 50Mb of RAM.
Yes. The program memory is 101 MB. 66 of it are free on my device.
Edit: And the program memory is Windows Mobiles name for RAM. Open some programms that are already installed and you'll see that the program memory will get less.

A new version (V0.2) is out.
Bugs are fixed now. OS is still 21231 but I will update that soon. Changes can be found in post #1 .
I really like the ROM, but I don't won't to flash the new version unless it improves it for me. So I wondered which the new dailer is?
It changes nothing. It only looks better then the old one. I'll add screenshots soon then you can see it. The only real improvements are the new camera version and the fixed buttons.

Has anyone tried the camera? Seems like it is bad on my phone. Tell me about it otherwise I can't get it working again.

ok habe dein rom nun einige zeit getestet. vorweg: schnellstes rom das ich je hatte. unglaublich. lass es einfach so!!! nur ein paar sachen:
1. WorldCard Mobile ist für mich total überflüssig
2. Startmenü in Ordner sortieren (wie in anderen ROMs, Zubehör, Werkzeuge, ...)
3. Fingerfreundliche Tastatur
4. AdvancedConfig und MyPhone mitinstallieren
5. Evtl. irgendein Programm um die gerade aktiven Programme oben rechts auf dem Heute Bildschirm etwas größer zu machen
wie gesagt eigentlic nur kleinigkeiten weil das rom an sich unglaublich gut läuft!!! vielen dank für deine gute arbeit!

Sorry that I reply in English but that is what I was told to do.
The ROM will get even faster. I started to fully clean up 21231 because it was better then 21812 in my eyes. (I'll maybe use 21812 later again). I'll remove office and so on and provide cabs for it then so that you can install it if you need it. UC will be in too (It already is but then it will get importand). Then you can let the cabs install after an update too. That will make the thing faster and will give us more Storage.
I'll sort the things into folders soon. The things with advanced config and so on will be there as cabs then you can tell UC to install them. I think that is the best way for everyone.
The new release will be there in one week. (I'll be on holidays from tomorow on and back in one week).
A new Version (V0.4) is out.
-I fixed the camera and updated it to Version 5.04.
-I cleaned up everything. At first startup you have nearly 70MB of RAM and nearly 150MB of storage free.

I want to introduce my first own app - getUseage:
This App is for all o2 germany customer who want to see there useage of inclusive minutes/sms/traffic on the homescreen as a widget, because the o2-App doesn´t have such widgets.
The data are the same as on the homepage under "Verbrauchsübersicht (Beta)".
So the main difference to other useage widgets is, that you a see the original o2 stats and that there are no calculation!
Features:
- custom text widget (wildcards for minutes/sms/traffic)
- customizable settings (free minutes/sms/traffic per month etc.)
- widget update via touch
- same data as on the homepage under "Verbrauchsübersicht (Beta)"
Note: It works only for o2 germany customer with an o2 Account and it´s no official o2-App!

i noticed another bug:
I don't know exactly when this is happening, but sometimes I cant update the widget by clicking on the widget, it simply sais "SMS" for example. Only when I open the settings menu and choose "update interval", the widget is updating itself.
could be a deep sleep problem / disconnection of internet ?
Hmmm, can it be that this is only happening when you restart your device (did your device maybe restart it selfs) ??
no, after reboot everythings fine...
another explanation could be, that JuiceDefender interacts, because JuiceDefeder manages Wifi Connection automatically..
The WifiConnection doen´t matter. If there is no Connection the Widgets don´t try to update them self... Do u have the newest version (0.2)??
Maybe JuiceDefeder kills the complete Service and the Widgets... hmm maybe you could test it for a week or something without JuiceDefeder?
I can try, but I don't think it's JD. It happens random, and JD interacts everytime, the screen is off.
Seems as if the widget is shut down, doesn't react on touch...
