Hi, i know this is the XDA Forum, but maybe someone is so kind to help me.
I have here beside my XDA II also a Toshiba E400 with Windows Mobile 2003.
Now i want to change the language there from german into english.
I tried to install the available english Windows Mobile 2003 SE Update, but it says that the languages are incompatible...
I dont even want to have the Second Edition - i only need to have a english Windows Mobile. Does anybody know how i can manage this ?

Dopod has already been linked here, HTC none is available I think ubtil an update is found, the same goes for Orange I think.

Well, even if someone dump his fresh rom (htc, orange) , you won't be able to flash it on your device, you'll need to CID unlock it, and no longer does SPV Services work. So you'll need to pay IMEI Check....

Maybe you could do a little feedback, free memory for apps, for storage, speed etc

because over here is one or the other
Before with my QTEK 8310 I have all the necessary languages, like a regular mobile phone
English, Dutch, French, Spanish, Italian, German.....
but this time keybord QWERTY = English Dutch and all east country
AZERTY keyboard = English and French only
There is only this ASIA ROM by DOPOD... So English and Chines (maybe Russian in fact)...
We must wait for an upgrade by HTC or other manufacturers.
I guess for us the most important things is the T9 (as many as possible)
So if you buy the QWERTY S710 you have English T9 and Dutch and other east country T9
but no Spanish no Italian no German no French... T9
And same as languages avalable
If you buy the AZERTY S710 you only have French and English T9
but no Spanish no Italian no German... T9
And same as languages avalable (only 3 English UK English US French)
This is a little bit annoying.
Which GSM company in Europe sale GSM with no German, no Spanish No Italian ???
Not Nokia, not Samsung, not Sony.
By change one guy find a way to insert other T9
But we not suppose to do this our self. Can one day HTC make a FULL POWERED device. It's always something less and something more.
Latest example in this WM6 device (S710) if you are using the T9, this is no way to suggest word (add word)
I explain : let's say you want to write "Geert Derycke" in an SMS of course the T9 won't know this word. Before with
S310 or 8310..... any other Smartphones, if the word is not in the T9 you have the choice to ADD WORD (at the bottom of the usual word completion suggestion)
Now with WM6 you can't. You have to switch to ABC mode (by pressing the *T9 button) until you see "ABC mode" then you write the new word
then you get back into the T9 mode.
Try this and tell me how you like it. I don't. Take for ever to write an SMS.
When you enter the SMS section. The "NEW" in the left bottom corner is gone. Now it's DELETE instead.
if you want to compose a NEW SMS you have to go to MENU then NEW
Again something not pleasant.

I'm thinking of buying a WM6.1 device (the Asus P320) i know its not branded 6.1, but thought you guys would know -- would it be possible to change the language of the GUI to English as it comes only in Chinese here. I don't have access to the english roms but would it be possible to do via the registry or anything else?

The language is part of the rom, if you buy a device with a chines rom only the chinese language is included. Theres no registry tweak, sorry.
I see -- anyone know where I can get english roms for the Asus P320? I searched the forum found a few for 525 -- but couldn't find where they got them.

Asus hasn't released the english roms out yet -- but when they do post it on their website -- would they be region specific? (e.g. chinese rom only workso n chinese device? as in teh case of updates) or would the rom completely replace the device regardless of region?
If the latter is the case i might just wait for the english rom to come out

I have a unit a htc touch pro 2 which was bought in hongkong (english version). Now i want to upgrade it to ROM windows 6.5. Based on the HTC support service that the device is Hong Kong Traditional Chinese version. You should download the Traditional Chinese version of Windows Mobile 6.5 Rom code from htc website.If i upgrade using this rom will the characters change into chinese language. i have a LG G PRO LITE DUAL ( lg g pro lite D686 ) that doesn't have FRENCH as one of the system language ( when you go to settings....>language & input .....> .... there is no option for french, and as a result, i CANNOT change the phone system language to french. i've tried all sort of apps ( locale text, morelocale2, text and locale, etc etc etc ) i tried all kind of apps. the only thing that happened was that part of the phone was changed to french, but the majority of it is still in english.
I was told that the ONLY way i would be able to add/install/get french as a language on the phone is to either
1- CHANGE THE OPERATING SYSYTEM. the one on my phone is android 4.1.2. i was told that some operating systems like 4.2.2, or 4.4, and even 4.0.2, which i currently have on my htc phone come with french as part of the system language.
or
2- install some kind of custom ROM.
I would really appreciate it if someone out there could help me with either one of those options, or if there is another way i can get french on my phone, please let me know as well.
some basic info about the phone:
its brand new and unused. i plan on shipping it to a french speaking country, which is why i absolutely MUST change it to french.
its an LG G PRO LITE DUAL phone
android version 4.1.4
and its already been rooted.

See,first of all there is no support for lg g pro lite or dual as far as i know.
2nd,there is no update to 4.2 or kitkat from lg still for this phone....be it g pro lite dual or single sim
As you are saying,you are unable to find the french language,in that case the country or the place where you live try to find any lg service centre
And let them k9 this...they could help you upgrading in language.as they could provide you with a french country related android version.
