Change Installation dir of CAB - General Questions and Answers

i have on my internal storage folder called "_install" and "sdconfig.txt" what allow me to automaticly install cabs from internal storage during customizing (after hard reset).
i want to edit cab to change installation dir to Internal storage using WinCE CAB Manager.
i have created in "default Intall dir":
/Internal Storage/Program Files/app.name
but after customizing i have new folder on device memory called Internal storage.
Real 4gb internal storage is now called "Internal storage 2"
what to do to change installation dir to Internal storage?

you should just need a backslash ("\program......")

^ what he said. Also, to restore the name of your 4GB Internal Storage, just delete the Internal Storage folder on your device and reboot.

HELP: Installing large cab files

I'm having problems installing a program to my storage card. I have enough space on the storage card, but my problem lies in that when installing a file that is larger than my available local storage memory I cannot install it.
For example, if I have 2000kb space available on the internal memory on my Smartphone, I can't install a 2500kb program to the storage card.
Please tell me there's a way to fix this?
Don't install via Active Sync, copy the cab to your SD card. If it still fails, means that that app must be installed on SD ( or have some parts installed on SD )
Thanks! That did the trick

Internal Storage Maintenance

Hello. First of all, WM5torage cannot access wm6(.1) internal storage. So my question would be - how to I maintain the internal file system? I know ROM files are locked and refer to a special file system type but still: Is there a way to checkdisk etc the internal storage?
SOLVED
SKTools (Trial) can do this!

Create unwritable folder in internal storage?

Is there a way to create or make a (one) folder unwritable on the internal storage which stops the system writing to it?

/Android/data folder is both present on my internal storage and on my ext SD card

Hi all,
first of all I will attempt to be more clear as possible, since english is not my main language
Well, I was checking, using ES file manager, the available space on my ext SD card (called sd0 - 14,41 GB), when I noticed that the space was a little bit bigger since i reflashed the stock rom: after some investigation I noticed that inside my ext SD card there is a folder called Android, and this folder contains a subfolder called data: inside this data subfolder there are a some folders (24 folders - about 17 MB) of my installed applications.. But the /Android/data folder is also present inside the internal storage (called sd1 - 4,70 GB), with the only difference that here there are only 14 folder with a size of 4 KB. I also have to mention the fact that some folder (but not all) are duplicated on both paths: look here:
Data folder on ext sd card
Data folder on internal storage
I went inside Lollipop's settings, under storage settings, and looking at the bar graph I've seen that applications are taking a space of 1,52 GB on a total of 14,41, on my ext SD card.
Then I make sure that the default installation path for applications was set to internal:
Then, since I want to save extra files (eg screenshots and camera's pictures) on my ext SD, I also set the path to ext SD:
However ES file explorer, differently from the Lollipop settings, is telling me that the bigger size is on sd0 - the internal storage:
I miss something? And however, why on my ext SD (sd1) there is an almost duplicated /Android/data path?
Summarizing: my ext sd card is reported as SD0 and has a size of 16 GB: my internal storage is reported as SD1 and has s size of 4,70 GB. I am ok if applications are installed on internal memory: I can't understand why /Android/data path is duplicated on both storages, and why Lollipop is sayng that the apps -1,52 GB- are installed on SD0 and ES file explorer is telling that apps -1,84 GB- are installed on SD1.
Many thanks.

Some apps choose the external sd by themselves for some specific data
The data which is not essential for lauching and working of the app but supports it
Actually the apps just don't want to flood ur internal memory
That's it
Hi ChahatGupta,
thank you for the short but exhaustive answer

ES file explorer won't display internal storage.

I'm having this problem for sometime now after setting external storage as default storage, there's only 1 thumbnail for external storage (dubbed as internal) and no way to acess internal storage via es Explorer.
I don't have this problem when setting internal storage as default.
Also I have checked storage directories but can't find it.
