[ask] change imei for magician... - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 Software Upgrading

i had bought a second hand magician (O2 XDA II Mini), but it had differnt IMEI, because it had illegally serviced...
IMEI From sticker in Back case:
354819002316987-xx
IMEI from information in Windows Mobile and *#06#:
354819002532146-01
How to change the IMEI in O2 XDA Mini?
please urgent

IMEI changing is illegal...

^^
in my country is no law about changing imei, sorry 4 my bad english...
my XDA is illegally serviced, it had machine swap

if it could be done, id sure like to know how.... i also have a magician (got it for free), and always shown no service... i changed chip which controls a network from other dead magician (killed form upgrading - worked fine before) and no change... after that i noticed that imei is very strange (starting with four zeroes ).
friend told me that this could be the problem since imei is responsible for a lot of internal security, so that may be the cause of network problems...
don't know how it got changed

My phone may be black listed soon, what'next? (IMEI ID LOCK)

Hi all,
I have a SPV3000 from my work and I lost it for a while so I mentionned it to my manager who is going to state it to Orange to get it blacklisted.
The thing is, after a couple of weeks, I have just found my phone again!
I am not feeling I should mention it again to my boss as it sounds really ridiculous and he was kind enough not to argue on the loss. But well, now I have a phone fully working which IMEI code will soon be blacklisted by the 3 main operators in France running a common database on the subject (in case of phones stolen). I may send my phone to a friend abroad who will certainly be able to use it there but is there any tricky solution to be able to use it in France?
What is this IMEI code exactly and how does it work?
BE SURE I AGREE WITH THE IDEA OF BLACK LISTS TO AVOID SO COMMON AGGRESSIONS JUST FOR PHONES...

Hi marcel06!
IMEI is kind of like a serial number which your cell company sees.
If you haven't noticed, there is a wiki link under the word for details.
There are no tricks when it comes to IMEI. There are ways of changing it, but that is illegal in most countries.
Because IMEI identifies your phone, thieves could change their phone IMEI to match yours so you would pay for calls made from other phone.
If you really want to use the phone again, you should report that it was found so they won't blacklist you.

Oh.. no. I'm not sure about those pre-SIM period phone. But I'm definately sure that now, for phones that are using SIM cards, you are not able to charge to others account using IMEI. The controlling mech is the SIM card, the billing information is in the card, not the phone. But the operator will have the power (as I've heard) to disable/track phone by IMEI.

IMEI on Chinese Smart Phone

I have a Cobalt SP300 I bought on eBay. It has a MT6575 SoC that has a 3G radio integrated according to the manufacturer. I know other phones like the Zopo 100 with this same chip can access 3G bands of 850/1900 mhz. I looked up the IMEI number on some websites and it shows it to be a basic flip phone from early 2005. I currently have a feature phone unlimited data plan on my account, that worked fine on 3G on my old phone, but I can only get EDGE on this phone. When I go on the AT&T website and look at my account, it shows the device as unknown. Could it be since the device is unknown they restrict the data to EDGE only?
I happen to have an old 3G flip phone. I can be sure it will never be used again since the pins on the SIM slot broke. If I were to change the IMEI number to that phone's IMEI number, is it possible it would allow 3G?
You can't change your phones imie number its illegal and would get you into serious trouble

I have one which had two legal printed imeis which worked until I pressed factory reset which wiped them. How can I put them back.
There is nothing illegal in this as I have proof they are the phones numbers
sent by reversed alien technology....
You will find no info here on editing the imei as this is illegal and not to be talked about here.

I9100 imei changed to 0049 generic imei

I know this is an old thread. But spent so many days reading all those stuffs. Finally contacted samsung service centre and they says they can't repair my phone since its not manufactured in my country. Tried repairs like '' GSII repair'' and lots of other. Am not sure what I did. Deleted efs folder and copied, pasted. Nv files restarted. But of know use. When I tried inserting another network simcard(my friends) . The imei didn't change. But I was able to make phone calls and 3g. Bought a new sim of the same network. But I couldn't use it to make calls. It shows network not registered(like my previous carrier). The only thing I am able to do is I can use 3g. And I am typing from this same phone. Thank you for reading this..

Serial number does not match - what does that mean? Can it affect connectivity?

TL;DR: Why would my phone serial number in the setting/cover not match? Could it result in problems with connectivity or mobile data I am experiencing?
Longer version:
My phone (SM-870A) worked fine in Europe but in South Korea has trouble with mobile data (everything else is ok). My provider couldn't figure out what's wrong, so after the engineer at the service center couldn't, neither, I sent it to main Samsung service center / factory and they are telling me that they identified the problem: my phone's serial number doesn't match the the on the battery cover. (IMEI numbers DO match; I also verified this myself because they sent me photos of the back cover and from the phone's menu). They seem reluctant/unable to fix anything, and are suggesting I contact the seller of the phone for further explanation/warranty.
I tried googling, but I couldn't find out much about why a non-matching serial numbers could be related to connectivity problem, or what could it mean for the phone (perhaps it was refurbished? I was told I the phone is new, but a former unused display model... through it came already with the OS updated to the newest version). I am sure the phone is running unrooted stock ROM..
Do you think I got scammed in Europe by the original seller, or is the service center in Korea being lazy/under informed and cannot identify the real problem?

I want to change my First Phones IMEI with my Second Phones one.

I try to explain my problem as short and as informatical as possible.
I have a Sony Z3 which i bought in Germany 2 years ago, now i live in Turkey and my phoes IMEI got blocked from cellular access because if you want to use a Phone bought in a foreign country you have to pay something like a activation fee.
I also have a Sony xperia U which is much older but which i did buy in turkey.
Normaly foreign phones get blocked within 2 Months, i did use mine for 7 months now becasue i did put the Xperia U´s IMEI inside inside my Z3 with the "IMEI changer Pro" app. But somehow doesnt work anymore if i change the Imei to my xperia U´s imei, i do get network and even 3g, but cant do calls or recive calls, i get the "no network" error.
I did some digging and tought i have to change my IMEI in a more permanent way and found the program "MDKdroidTools" where you can change your imei, everything went well i even got the green box but the option to click on "IMEI/NVRAM" is always greyd out.
In very short i want to use my Z3 with my xperia U´s IMEI, and need assistance doing so.
Would be really great if someone has some tips for me. Thanks in advance.
