I have downloaded and installed the new version of skype mobile but when I try the test call the qualaty is very bad. Also with a headset!!
How is your experience?
It heavily depends on internet connection speed. GPRS is almost unusable, EDGE is little better, but WiFi is recommended. This is my own finding.

i'v sucesfully run sip to asterisk /iax too/ but only within lan - just because vox uses gsm610 and nothing else , wan calls are at this pont useless - no 726 no 729
perhaps fring or skype installed on phone are using some compression - but not stocked ms

I have a Navman S50. It comes with a very simple Windows CE version. I would like to install a version with more features like internet explorer, messenger etc. Can I install any of those mobile Rom versions into my GPS?
How? Any tutorial around?
Need I to make a backup from the ROM por posible warranty issues?
Thanks for advanced.
I´m asking for an imposible? Please, tell me something.
Sure...GPS, phone. They are all the same thing, right?
By the way, can anyone tell me how to load a ROM for my calculator so it can be a portable television?

I do not know if you are kidding, but I have heard about a guy who has Tv on his GPS. I hope I will can chat with him in next days. A friend saw it, and have internet and wifi.
My mother got a navigo satnav cheap from ebuyer, and I got tomtom and memory map running on it using instructions from this site: www.navsoon.org

You may be able to find a pda rom that would work with your Navman but not a smartphone rom because your Navman do not have the hardware that makes it behave like a phone. You could try a pda forum instead of trying to find help here. It would need to be a rom for a device that has the same specification as yours and even that may not work. It needs to use the same update method/bootloader at least!

i have tv, gps, and phone/data cababilities all on my xv8600 (Titan). So what? Why not just get a ppc6800 and be done with it?
i use it wil tomtom gps software, watch my home DVR/TV via slingbox software, use it to make/eceive calls with my blutooth headset, as well as send corporate and personal emails that sync up with my mail server....the xv6800 is the most powerful and expandable device on this entire forum, so just get one, and quit trying to ghetto-rig a GPS to make it what it cant be

Hello crobs808, I had a look to the ppc6800 at looks very nice, interesting the onboard keyboard. It´s an option but an extra investment I´m not sure if it´s worth. What I don´t like much are the 2.8" tft, seems quite small.
I´ll try to contact that guy that has his GPS working as a complete PDA. The good point it that the navman S50 has a 4.3" screen that seems more confortable to my eyes.

wovems, do you know any forum you would recomend? I think It will be no easy to find the correct forum. The doubt I have is; if the rom doesn´t work, could return it to the original? or is the risk of damaging it? That it´s the only important. If there is low risk, o no risk, can look for a rom, and try it, but if I would be on risk, so It wouldn´t worth to try nothing.
The Navman allows to intall some little programs on the Flash card, or the Storage card, but I couln´t find no internet browser that can be opened. Maybe the Windows Ce version is missing some dll files (have read something about), but I don´t know, and it´s dificult to find info about how to install that optional dlls.

just looking at specs, the kaiser seems wayyyy more powerful then the titan and seems like it can do a lot more as well. what does the titan have over the kaiser? and why did you point out just the verizon version, as far as i know they're all the same?

nah, no way...they have the same processor and all, but you cant get a CDMA version of the Kaiser, and EVDO/CDMA data rates are much faster than GSM model phones. I get 1600/800 on my verizon CDMA phone, so for that alone it's worth it...sure, if there was a CDMA Kaiser, then they might be on the same playing level, but I use about 8 email accounts with my phone, and need that speed to push/pull email all day long on all 8 accounts...cant be waiting.
Hi,
I've got a little problem with the ROMS on xda for my Kaiser. I tried 7 different Roms by now and I can't find a solution for the 3G problem. Also the camera had the ability to film in AVI mode.
My original Rom was the Rom from T-Mobile. There where I had the 3G connection and the AVI ability.
Is there something I oversee or is there no solution?!
Thanks...
P.S. For the people how recognizing my name; Yes the old one was Noxious Inc. but somehow it don't have permissions to do anything on the forum... (admins didn't reply on messages...)

Weird thing is also that the speed on G simalar is to 3G... even youtube is possible to watch...
The camera issue is not a main issue... it only had my attention, because it was so shocky and stuff...

How are you determining your connection type? If you're getting 3G speeds, then it's likely you are in fact connected via 3G but simply getting a wrong status indicator.

I didn't do a speedtest, it's only a feeling about the speed... when I try to reach nu.nl a dutch news site, then it's as I know and see the same speed... On HSDPA it's 3 times faster...
I have used both L26 V9 and Dutty's Diamond V1 and I can confirm that Edge, 3G and HSDPA all work without problems.
The camera is recording video in 3gp or mp4 formats.
Make sure you use the SPL and Radio recommended by the chef, hard reset after ROM install, and maybe also check your 3G subscription.
Regards.

Yep, it's enabled...
There is something other different... when I go to my Phone setting and use the "network settings" it says T-Mobile and T-Mobile (GSM) when I choose T-Mobile instead of T-Mobile (GSM) nothing changes...
If you go to start/settings/phone/band, what does it say?
If both say auto and you have 3g where you live then you should have 3g.

lol.. come on the wifi isnt handled by the Radio dude
With a newer build we might see some of these issues resolved, the drivers for the wifi might not be quite up to scratch....out of interest could mpeople post which standard they are using (b/g), the make of thier router and the connection type (WEP, WPA or Unlocked).

This is not an HTC support line, you are not paying for help, nor can you " demand " it here. The people here are just phone users like your self, here to share their experiences with others.
If no one has had a similar experience, then you will get few answers.
Perhaps you misunderstood my question. I know that your phone cannot make video calls. The question is does MobiNil support video calling.
MobiNil must support video calling
Edit 1 : By the way I love your Antique Theme, unfortunately I do not use Throttle Launcher, very nice though.

There is a module for ROMs called Video Telephony. You may need to install this as well as a video dialer. Have a look for this module on here:

Hi
I am suggesting that you just install the Video Telephony module as a .cab file. If it's not on Sakajati's download section then look elsewhere. Hopefully someone has made a cab of it somewhere.

What we are all missing here is that the prophet only supports up to 2.75G, hence no 3G video calling.
Sorry the Jamin (aka prophet) doesnt and wont support video calling. Even if you install the vieo telephony package the carrier wont throw video calling down a GPRS/EDGE connection.

Not At ALL my friend your posts were so much appreciated AND ALL OTHERS OF COURSE AT LEAST THEY HAVE HELPED WITH TIME AND KNOWLEDGE AND MAY MADE THIS THREAD GUIDE TO PEOPLE WHO DIDNT KNOW THAT ABOUT JAMIN
At a dutch news website there was an article about internet providers saying they give you much speed but after checkin they doesn't. I found this website: http://www.speedtest.net/ Offcourse they have an iPhone app, but as many know not a WM version (damn I hate that). Does anybody a kind off app like that?
Just use your phone as a modem, then test the speed from your PC.
http://www.speedtest.nl
Goto http://www.speedtest.nl
Works for me with Opera.
Edit:
Although it seems to work the download speeds are enorm!
When is test is with my PC i get a average of 900 KBytes/sec (approx. 7000kbps).
But with my phone over WIFI the average is 12700 KBytes/sec (approx. 101000kbps) !!!
That is of course to good to be tru.
Maybe it works over GPRS and/or 3G (i don't use them).
If you want test your mobile speed, look my signature.
