Yes! It is a "Vanilla Edition", English only, Plain Jane.
Hi Guys
Here's my first attempt at ROM cooking. Foremost, I must thank all the ROM cookers (you know who you are!) who has given me the inspiration to cook this vanilla edition. Also, thanks to you guys "ROM Junkies" (like me) for giving me the PUSH. The reason I cooked this vanilla edition is because I had always wanted a vanilla version. Secondly, I wanted to have the feel and to understand the effort required to cook a ROM.
This ROM is based on GnatGoSplat's WM6.1 Clean 5.2.19202 (Build 19202.1.0.0) Eval. I am releasing my vanilla edition with his blessings. Thanks so much Gnat.
What's out:
- the old WM homescreen
- all previous homescreen schemes
- JBed (java)
- Windows Live icons
- no soft-key short-cuts (due to varied devices; please install separately)
- no tweaks included, yet!
What's in:
- Sliding Panel homescreen
- Rinku Bar "ready" (included only the icons - may included full apps in future version)
- Threaded SMS is retained
- xT9 (instead of T9)
Please follow installation process from KarHoe's Guide
The flashing takes a little longer when it is at 100%. Please be patient.
On first reboot you may have a blank homescreen. Go to Settings>Home Screen>change either the Color scheme or Background image and >Done
I dont know why. Probably coz I changed/removed the green scheme.

It has some minor bugs that i found..rinku iconbar thas not work i had to reinstal it..what took so long time to boot and enter the windows?thats all till now...great job illi

i found a cupbile of bugs
1 chome operator name it not in the right place and to small to see
2 bootscreens are missing theres is no HTC.gif in \windows\
and oemstartup.dll is allso missing from windows

Bug as in the original ROM. When syncing with Exchange you cannot get passed the password screen as the phone has hung

I think that this are those Vanilla changes... fine to me, because I disable all splash crap.
I think that only universal IME should be installed, without any languages database fot T9,XT9 etc.
I use my country T9 and it is no use for me, as many many non-speaking-english users. Vanilla should be vanilla

I only include Rinku Bars' icons with the intention of installing the full apps in future release. So if you want it now you have to install it separately.
I am also aware of the slow flashing. It was mentioned in the first post too. I am looking for a solution.

I removed the VoIP dll so I am not sure if provisioning works. Have you tried Gnats Eval version?

I hope you could include ROMUpdateUtility to ease the flashing....and is there a way to remove the threaded SMS?

It seems to work well except the font size on the today screen is a bit smaller. Now 8 hours after installation.

1. I forgot to mention that I installed my modified cpr file. Thats why the operator name is not at its original position and the font is thinner. The sliding panel is also slimmer. I also included the bronzeres file that contains more icons.
2. Those were removed to make sure it is vanilla and I think it doesnt impact performance.

there is a tweak to revert the threaded sms. i will try to get it for you and also there are request from others.

illi could you edit your rom so it shows the default bootscreens you no the ones with wm6.1 on it and iv fixed your cpr if you what it ill upload it so you can put it in your next rom

I am glad to be able to find the time to assemble and cook this ROM. A "Very Special Thank You" to GnatGoSplat for providing the base ROM, assistance and encouragement. A "BIG Thank You" too to RickWyatt for helping me out with my first ROM release sometime back. Thank you to everybody else who are willing and brave enough to flash this ROM to your device. I hope you enjoy this ROM as much as I enjoyed cooking it.
As I am quite busy, support from me will be intermittent and difficult to come by. I hope experienced forum members and cookers can give a helping hand. Please use KarHoe's (great work man!) fantastic Guide to flash the ROM. (Best result when "format BINFS" is done.)

HTC Diamond may "kill" us all. I like it but I like my tornado more...lol

Well, i have already the phone configured and i found some issues.
The SMS aren't threated, can i enable threat sms?
The startup/shutdown images don't appear, when i recibe a call, the background image is the default Windows Mobile green picture with logo.
The jbed esmertec don't install GoBible, launch file error.
The font is little big

Well, the SMS are threaded, i import the SMS with SMS Tools Pack and this tool don't leave it in threat, but i make some test and the message in effect are threaded.
Well, i install the HTC Splash Screen for the startup images and i'm looking how to change the background call, jeje.

I just flashed my test phone and it works REALLY fast compared to previous 6.0 on it! is there any way to modify the clock font size and type to look like the one on HTC Home?

Now i just need to find how to put Hebrew on this thing, cause letters are coming as squares again
Any chance you could check my post on the smartphone general regarding how to dump a rom and extract hebrew from it ?
EDIT: I can't seem to be able to send or receive bluetooth OBEX, keeps saying it can't be accessed / Fixed with AmpTweaks - Registry Missing for it!

@karmacoma7: Homescreens are controlled by *.home.xml and *.cpr files.
@Sefy: Idont know how to dump rom. Maybe you can search for language file.
My bluetooth connection is ok. I can send/receive files.

Thanks illi, i try to remove the key HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:CallAlert BKBitmapFile but the background comes withe, then, i put another picture. You have the original picture, i want that looks seem to the phone when i make a call
Another issues, today i use the WMplayer and play music when travel to work i notice that the display always stay on, exist any form to modify the wmplayer configuration to turn off the display?, this works fine in the Rickwaytt rom of june 11. I must to configure the wmplayer buttons because the next-previous are unconfigured, i configure it to right, left respectively.

Great work Balckdragon but can you change it to "SLIM SLIDING PANEL" please because from the screenshot per your attachment its slim panel right? correct me if I'm wrong...

I have remade your rom iv fixed all bugs apart from the obex (beam) could not save the settings hope you dont mind i have allso added the slim sliding panels

Congrats! Good release. My comments: you should remove the *DIGI.ttf. It display in digital font only on some screens. Some screens display in Sogoe font. I feel the joypad is not as responsive. Some of your sound files does not emit any sound too. And the short-cut keys...
BTW can you highlight what new features in this ROM.

I must also learning a lot, thats the reason why i dont have locked my rom. i would that everyone can test dumping the rom for giving me advices.
So befor someone release i rom, i would finishing my work. then everyone can do what he would.
So please, explain me how i can solve the problems and give me advices.
Else in future i dont release any xip and sys more or i protected my roms.

You room is preaty cool works stablish and fast
I know that you want to create real clear room, but it would be nice to see 2 little fix'es in settings:
- SMS Threading on/off
- UsbCharging on/off
It is realy help full
changing it each time in regedit when You make HR is torture

i wont be posting my remake or you rom but if you what me to post the fixed Defult.hv and user.hv this fixes bugs
1 windows media button bug
2 boot screens
3 welcome center
4 quick startmenu
5 gprs Authentication
6 csd line type
then iv got a dll that fixes the windows media blacklight and iv got the cpr wich makes the homescreen to slim bars iv allso go ther htc bootscreen
so if u what me to post these files just let me know

I think this could be fixed, someone posted the registry changes, perhaps should be implemented in the next release

commmanager --> bluetooth / beam i have problem..
the rest was easy to find.

I have Qtek 8310 and here's what i've found so far:
+ the rom's pretty fast.
+ great fonts, the right size.
+ all the HTC home plugins work fine.
+ GPRS/EDGE works fine too.
+ battery life seems to be average.
+ IE's Favourites in Russian are saved correctly via ActiveSync.
- my phone froze up once today during an incoming call (I couldn't answer, had to remove the battery). Maybe it's a radio issue? I have radio version 02.25.01.
- Audio Booster doesn't work (it loads but I can't turn it on).
- Voice recorder doesn't start from Start Menu (looks like a broken link).
- when I turn on or off 'Receive incoming beams' in Settings/Connections/Beam it says 'the settings could not be saved' although they ARE saved in fact.
- Rinku colored icon bar does not work well with this rom (same was with the original Gregory's Rose rom). I miss those icons!
- if you use CHome (not HTC home) and set a wallpaper, it's icon bar part is cut inaccurately, so you can see the cut (same as in Gregory's version). It also occures with some of older 6.1 roms.
- no SP5 button fix is included with the kitchen - you have to install it yourself.
As you can see, these are only cosmetics. But I only tested it for one day. Will write again if I notice anything else.

Bluetooth issue
I have checked and found out that OBEX transfer doesn't work with all phones. For example, I can't transfer files from my Qtek 8310 to Nokia 6233 and Samsung E840 using Send command from Resco Explorer which is the simplest way to my mind. But if you use Bluetooth Explorer that comes with this ROM and copy/paste a file, it works!
Yet I'm gonna try a program called Terminal, I suspect that it'll work either because it has its own OBEX driver.

I'm testing this ROM...
ROM is very good . But Wi-Fi doesn't work (in Comm Manager is disabled).

Again the problem from TornFLO... I fix this later. Thanks for info I have Faraday without WiFi so I need are any information about this.

A big bug in this rom is that if I restart the phone after flashing is disabled and no longer works start button.Another bug is that after the block key is not stuck key and volume change.
Another bug is that the clock is not automatically updated as other rom.

WTF... For me it works fine, I taking SR 3 times for day, and start button always work.

Hmm, for me on any rom clock is not updating automatically... I always setting clock manually.

If you removed the battery from the phone and then returned with a version of your rom does not adjust the clock automatically, have to do manual work asta.If you do not like constructive criticism not you say that bug appear.

But.. the rom seems to be very big.. how must free storage you get after installation?

Free storage is only 12.15MB -------but Mietas called it Lite
Though the rom is label as 6.5, it is more looks like a 6.1. Missing all the attractive menus, curve buttons.. etc of 6.5.
All keys are not preassigned... including the power key...
Need to check others....

Other 2 bugs that should when the phone is locked is no longer seen as the battery is left and that the battery is consumed very quickly.

It is marvelous, when I try to set up GPRS, setting for my service provider already found in the rom but I am yet to able to connect internet
In this rom many settings are already stored, I have seen many fonts too.. may be that is why the ROM is very BIG.
In looks and feel it is 6.1 except few changes. In usability, it is more or like kamikadze 6.1 but symbol selection is better in later. As moalesipufos says there is some cases of battery draining. I think this needs many improvements..

That's big because this includes camera, audiomanager and commmanager. HTC apps is very very big.
