Camera Nightshot mode

Saw this in the debugger tonight when launching the Camera app.
Code:
11-25 23:57:59.732: VERBOSE/QualcommCameraHardware(32): initCameraParameters: set parm: CAMERA_PARM_NIGHTSHOT_MODE, 0
Anyone have any ideas and/or documentation regarding this? I would love to experiment with turning the feature on, but I'm rather clueless when it comes to Java programming
look at the git repo... I will look also but many of the features we are asking for are already built in they just need final tweaks.
I've seen all sorts of fun and interesting features while reading through the source. Automatic image upload, YouTube upload (video recording?), All sorts of camera settings for doing effects. (Monochrome, solarize, etc), RAW recording, etc.
I hope someone is able to write some sort of camera app that harnesses some of this power that's available... And gives us the ability to adjust shutter speed and increase the gain in software.

You know there was word that Google had put those features in but pulled them out at the last minute because it wasn't working properly. I am sure we can get it working if someone was willing to try.
cool stuff. play with it and tell us what it does.
but, and im no photographer or anything, but i would assume that night shot mode would make the shutter speed even slower to capture more light, which is the opposite of what we really want for this camera.
It could be that it is in a nightshot mode and that is why it is blurry... not to mention does anyone know why Sony cameras are the best? It is the software that knows how to automatically take pictures that aren't blurred.
typically if nightshot_mode=0 by default then it is not in nightshot mode. perhaps the current camera software changes that variable i dont know.

true... I don't think it is in the real nightshot mode but rather something with a long delay. This is why most images are blurry and some are ok.
Yeah, the dim light camera is abysmal. I keep hoping that there'll be a camera upgrade soon
When RC29 came I noticed the camera worked like 5 times better. I was even able to snap pics of the kids on the swings and they came out clear, when RC30 came it was back to blurriness as usual.
Now either I'm trippin about the improvement I noticed with RC29 or there's something in that version that sped up the focus.
My RC29 was the install from SD version.
the RC30 is the factory OTA from Google.

Grey-ish camera issues on Asus P535

Hi all.
My P535 is giving me a headache. When trying to take a picture in a not-so-well lit room, I'm getting grey stripes at the bottom of the image (always just the bottom) and pretty often some grey "overlay" over the whole image. Daylight images are just fine, artificial lights sometimes create poor-quality images. The latter is a common with the low-res digicams as far as I know.
PPC ws shipped with WM6 and didn't have issues with the camera. I later switched over to some 6.1Roms. There were some from PDA-Viet I found to be well fitting - don't remember versions or names, sry - and finally stayed with the Rom by vivi (I think it was something with AKU). While that Rom testing I noticed the first camera issues with vivi's release having the least issues of them all.
I later switched back to the original WM6 from the Asus Website for other reasons and am now facing the cam-problems mentioned above.
Is there some way to fix this via registry, hack or patch? Boardsearch results weren't really conclusive on this since almost none related. I'd prefer not to have to install another Rom since it took me quite some time to get my current setup straight and runnin'.
I'd appreciate any kind of help with this. It's nothing too urgent, but drivin me nuts
I'll append some sample images later.

no idea any1?
last bump on that. still hope there is some kind of fix or sth to make it a bit better at least, although i still couldn't find something myself.
I had same thing with default rom now using custom 6.1 and these lines and "half-images" disapeared i dont know it but i guess it can be something with pagepool because picture size is maxed to 400kb now i take 800kb pictures without glitches.

[Q] Multiple Exchange Accounts

I'm guessing this is an issue with other LG phones as well.
The LG Email app and the Android Accounts app only allow one Exchange account on the LG Optimus 3D. Once I added an Exchange account, this option was not longer available in the Add Account screen.
Now, I was just coming over from Samsung Infuse, so this was a bit of a shock for me - I used 3 Exchange accounts there.
As the device is rooted, I suspect I may be able to circumvent this by changing a configuration file or a database entry, but I wasn't able to find anything.
Does anyone have an idea?
no,sorry!
But PLEASE!!!GIVE TO US A CONTRIBUTE!
you are so lucky to have it!!!so please do a videoreview o something else.maybe during the web navigation with flash content,to see the performance.
i really would like to see some normal 2d pictures made with the optimus 3d and maybe one 1080p video. thank you and i'm sorry i can't help you with your problem.

i thougt the quality is maybe better with a newer firmware!?
if the camera would be better i would never think about the SGS2. But the quality of those samples is really bad compared with the quality of the SGS2
obviously will be better with final rom.
Trying to dump the ROM, but the instructions I found are MTD based. Any idea how to do it?
Install stock e-mail.apk
Don't need root for it.
Works perfectly. Of course, now I no longer have HTML email from my Exchange accounts, but I guess you just can't have it all. Hopefully, LG will remove this limitation soon enough.

Hope Camera

Hope 6.0.1 or 6.0.2 rom will be taking pictures manually. Because the default file available camera_config.xml these items, simply switch to true is that there are craft shooting models like g4 but not perfect.
i have read somewhere that tells our camera sensor which is IMX135 support for raw but the main problem is our kernel..
i don't think LG implement manual camera in our kernel..
maybe i'm wrong but let's hope the manual camera will coming soon to G3.. pray for it buddy..

Question Working Gcam for the A53

Just picked up this phone, so far I like it, seems a bit laggy, but I'm looking for a working Gcam version. I found a few but one is a Go version and the 2nd I can only get video working. Any help would be appreciated
It's like 99% + a proper gcam will not work for this device. I don't own this device but have been looking if RAW is capable on this device at all with 3rd party apps. Apparently this is a NO. When RAW is not available at all, GCAM's core software does not work...which is HDR+ mode. It's really lame because the camera sensor , processor/processing and memory is more than adequate.
I think gcam is limited to what is already existed. I had hoped it could be a workaround on the RAW issue, it couldn't engage the cameras on mine.
Hey there people, a couple of weeks ago I've acquired an A53 because of it's camera capability, while researching I found out this phone doesn't have RAW format support, which is a shame acknowledging this phone can shoot up to 10 seconds of image! So I decided to get my hands dirty and mod the camera libraries and so a Google Camera for it. I might release the modules and the Google Camera by this Saturday. I'd be also doing a Q&A, and you're invited! (I'll be talking about my work over 64MP mode, spoiler alert, I've been able to expose the resolution size for 3rd party camera apps, but I decided I won't be release with the 64MP mode until I'm able to access 64MP mode without root.)
I'm eagerly waiting to show you all my W.I.P works and much more!
Attaching a video showing how GCam 8.4.300 behaves.
Hey there, I was able to make a stable GCam 8.4.300, refer to my XDA thread!
Interesting !
Sadly we have to Root the phone to use gcam
Thanks for your work, i'll follow tour project closely

No worries, for those who can't root or don't want to root I'll be doing my best to get working 64MP for 3rd party camera without root!

I'm not particularly interested by 64MP mode as I'm not impressed by the differences from a quality perspective (using Samsung app)
But I'm interested by a working version of gcam cause I don't like Samsung camera app and also the photo processing (far better when I disable the HDR mode)
So if your version of gcam can be installed without unlocking bootloader I'm in !
But if I understand correctly that's not possible currently ? Am I right ?
Thanks for your work !

Yes, sadly you can't use gcam without root, I saw Samsung's api has a RAW picture format so I have been tried these past weeks using Samsung's API RAW picture format instead of Android's, unfortunately no progress was achieved so far
That's very cool. Really looking forward to trying this out on my phone with LineageOS GSI and Magisk. There, the difference in quality to the default cam will be mindblowing I assume.

I don't think Gcam is ever going to work unless Samsung enables RAW support (or someone finds a way to enable it) on the A53.
How do I enable GCam if I have ROOT?
Considering this device through local carrier because it's one of few with expandable memory. They're also suggesting Motorola Edge.. I've been out of the loop on tech side of things for years now, so I naturally came here to learn what I can about them. Is A53 5G a solid choice?
