Hi again people,
still loving my TP but two problems are bugging me,
1) Three times since I've had the phone I've recevied a call but despite the phone ringing and vibrating away, the screen shows the main screen and no information at all about who's calling..no number, no name just the main TF screen. Anyone else seen that?
2) Is there a way to remove a picture from a contact? I can change the pic, but not remove it. I've assigned one of the generic 'silhouette' images to a contact, but now found that I can't remove it.
thanks for any tips
1. Nope, nothing like this. Reconsider HR - might be one od the apps you installed.
2. Menu->Remove Picture doesn't work for you when you edit a contact?
1) I think the first tie it happened was the very first day I got it before I had installed anything. and in 3 weeks it's only happened 3 or 4 times.
2) didn't see that option..thanks very much
I have a problem hopefully someone can help me. When I am typing in my resposes using the xt9, sometimes the space where I see the words that I choose being typed in goes away and I cant see what I am writing, I have to click on the space again where my response goes to see how my response looks like. Is that happening to anyone else? maybe its a glitch that someone fixed already?
You are notthe only one to have this problem and according to HTC they had no idea this was a problem. it is mostly due to the number of messages in your in box. The only thing to really do is empty your box regularly and you will not notice it as much. call them and let them know
I can't believe I'm the only one who hates this, but since I can't find an answer and since no one is responding to my other post, I'm wondering if I am the only person who is experiencing this problem... Please answer this for me.
When you place a call using the stock Samsung dialer, do you see your friend's facebook status pop up, only for a couple seconds? Mine shows the status while the call is connecting, but just for a second or two. Then it disappears from the screen when the call connects.
Its a very handy feature to see the person's status but VERY annoying that it doesn't display long enough to read it! There has to be a way to change this.
Weird issue all.
On my N5, when I open the dialer, my favorites are listed out. The first 15 or so contact in the list, I can long press and move around accordingly to how much I call said person. However, there are some contacts, that I do call quite a bit, on the bottom of the list that I can not move at all. If I long press on them, nothing happens.
I tried removing them and re-adding them to favorites, but it doesn't matter. Any idea why this might be happening?
Anyone at all?
Looks like it's not just me, but everyone. Seems Goog coded the dialer this way.

Piss poor implementation is you ask me.
hi there!
just wanted to let you know that, for the last 2 days now, I'm experiencing this weird issue:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/google-nexus-5/334621-problem-half-blank-screen-incoming-calls.html
the lower half of the screen, when I receive an incoming call, is black (this wasn't so in the first 1-2 days). even if the caller has a contact photo, it's shown only like 1/3, the rest is black. this appeared like 2-3 days ago and didn't change after the small update I've succesfully applied.
the device is an 8GB version, bought from Amazon.de.
any1 has this issue? is there a fix to it?
THX!
I have fixed it.

thanks, but I wouldn't want to root my Moto G yet. especially since I'm kinda waiting for the KitKat update.
so, is this a bug, or is it a new "feature" of the later Android versions? because if it's the latter, it kinda sucks bigtime! the example in your other thread (where only the hat can be seen from the contact picture) is a good one for how stupid this is if it's really intended like this.
btw, this changed after 1-2 days of proper usage, I remember the incoming call screen to show the complete contact picture at the beginning, I guess it changed later. would it change if I'd reset the phone, for example?
did a factory reset and unchecked the option to restore settings and apps from the previous phone -- unfortunately, this didn't fix the issue. still, when there's an incoming call, i can only see like 1/3 of the contact picture. the rest of the screen is black...grrrreat!
Man, this is a bug in Phone.apk of Android 4.3 and I fixed it. You need root though if you want to change the apk.

I have just got a Moto G (4.3) myself and noticed for the first time, this new "feature" of having have black or blank screen during an incoming call.
somewhere else I even read someone's reply rationalizing why it was necessary to have a 2/3 black screen, so that the green and red buttons can be easily visible !!
couldn't the designers just added a small black background to the red and green buttons? that would show them clearly !!
anyway,
I installed this HD caller ID app, so now a nice big picture of the contact is seen.
it does run as a service, and though I don't like this, its still better than having to see the hair of my contacts calling me !!
it has many reviews, ratings and downloads, though u might check other similar apps too. or perhaps another dialer app.

works good enough for me, has some themes where u can change how the green and red buttons show up.
