[Help] O2 Cocoon big problem..!!! - General Questions and Answers

I have O2 Cocoon but i dont know why sometime it's automatic turn off and i need to take off battery and put it in again to make it work
And 1 day it's off again but when i turn it on...it's keep repeat start up screen...and it's doesn't booting....!! it's always stuck into start up screen and keep repeat like forever...!!! and the important thing is it's can turn on start up screen when i plug the charger in....and with out charger it's said battery is too low (it's always said that when i have charger on...[When i hold Power Buttons)
Can't load start up screen on with out charger....!!!
Some one know how to fix it or have some idea to fix it..!!1
Thank you
Paul

that sounds like a serious hardware issue.
something related to power.
did you try to replace the battery?

i did...but it's samething ..!!

If you can't even get to load the OS and your device keeps on resetting, i'm afraid it's not something you can deal with..
of course, i might be mistaken, so i suggest you conduct a deep search into the forum concerning this issue. I hope you find an answer.

oh i did seach for the answer but i can't find it...and someone said i need to send my fone to O2 stores to fix it...cus this is an O2 fault..!!!

Yeah
Im currently having the same exact problem with my "fuze". mine currently has a custom rom on it and i thought maybe that its just some internal problem with the os. All that i think will fix our problems is a hard reset...does anyone know how to hard reset this device because for some reason the normal way is not an option.

ioono why o2 have this problem alot

Phone is dead???

My Orange SPV has died on me - did it yesterday, just went blank and wouldnt turn on, then after battery removal and fiddling it burst back into life and was fine. Today it did the same, but it won't come back - I thought it was a flat battery, but its still the sames with a fresh charged one. When I plug the phone into the charging cradle, the 'phone live' light shows red.
Any suggestions how to fix it ? - the unit is bog-standard, and I havn't done anything to kill it.
Any suggestions welcome, thanks

hey i chek hardware it okay i try fill charge bettery also
hi chirag
if know the hardware then heat up the processor with blowergun or hotairgun what ever you call it but put the liquide solder past on it first then in hotairgun the temp on 4 and air on 4 or 5 and blow for 1.5 to 2 min on processor and disk on chip or ram give the hot air to it after that put ipa on it and clean the hole thing put your display and battery and make hard rest or flash fresh rom on it .
i think its work for you
the reson of boot up failure
is because the extrem use of your phone is make the bollgride which is connecting your processor and motherbord Drysolder in it after this action all drysolder is resolder to its place and its start reworking
Thanks

Screen going black

I've tried various different ROM images (including the excellent Dr.Gonzo), and I have this problem with all of them.
When I'm using the phone either with the keyboard in or out, the screen just switches off randomly. If I wait a few seconds (possibly the backlight timer length), then it comes back. Mostly... Othertimes I have to wait a lot longer, but it does always come back.
A reboot sometimes fixes it, but not always - does anything survive a reboot or battery removal?
Anybody else seen anything like this? I have seen a lot of threads about the screen staying on, but not off.
Of course, it could be a hardware fault, but because it's intermittent, it's hard to prove.
Mike
same problem
If you shake the phone can you re-produce this problem? I've never not heard of this being affected by software - you might also want to ensure you're not overclocking it.
Nothing is removed when you do a battery removal or reboot, ensure your connections are all tight and make sure the SIM pins are all making contact and the SIM door closes, apart from that it sounds like a possible bad LCD ribbon.
Shaking it doesn't reproduce the problem.
Once the phone has started doing this, it happens everytime you press a key.
Seems more like a memory leak to me since it always seems to happen after a while of web browsing/email use.
So actually, it looks like it might be a hardware fault.
I think it happens when the device gets warm. After a few minutes with the screen on, keyboard lit up, wifi on, the phone gets pretty warm and that's when the screen seems to go black. Leave to cool and all returns to normal.
Mike
Same issue here, but the screen does not acually go black/blank it just seems that the screen backlight does not turn back on from a standby like state, the phone itself functions but just not able to see whats going on on the screen.
(keyboard lights work fine and come on when expected)
Not sure about the heat theory as it happens (to me) most often right after a call, anything over 30-50 seconds and the backlight problem occurs, when it decides to work again is a matter of luck.
As said before because it's intermittent, it's very hard to prove.
Has anyone who has had this issue, fixed it with a hard reset ?
Very strange ... but also getting very annoying now!
i got the same thing. took it back to warranty and they said nothing's wrong with the phone but i still get this.
I experience the same problems.. it happens pretty random, but every time when you hit a key. I have set all timers to never but the problem is still there.
Running Gonzo 1.1 at the moment, upgraded from guava.. but that didn't solve the problem.
It is getting so annoying now that I am about to throw the s710 in the dustbin
I have had the same problem!
I have turn it back to my provider and no problem now.
i have the same problem with my VOX
apparently, i can still receive phone calls, and do whatever i want with the phone,
but the screen just stays black, its like if you have unplugged your monitor
since i dont have a htc center in my town or anywhere else nearby.
does anyone know a way on how to open the phone, change what need to be changed and correct the problem? im all up for testing if that would resolve this annoying problem :s
cheers everyone
there is a dismantling manual somewhere in this forum. search.
i don't think taking it apart would help you because this is not a physical fault that you can locate.
and i learned that mcel is the retail seller of vox in mozambique. they should be able to help you with service. else just send a mail to htc support and they will guide you.
yes, mcel are the retail sellers, but i tried to go there, and there are no specialists on htc's there,
the thing is, i didnt bought my htc from them, so i can't go there and change for another one
but tks anyway
no problem
but do try to contact htc support by email. they might suggest a way.
I'm having exactly the same weird problem and I think I found some pattern when it occurs. Well, the thing is that in the bright day or in a room with lots of light it works just fine. In the darker conditions… well… not so fine. It seems to me that this screen blackout happens whenever the keyboard light is on and screen changes to full brightness (in the dark, because of the light sensor). In the daylight, keyboard light doesn't turn itself on, so s710 works. I don't know much but this definitely isn't some bad contact problem. Maybe some battery problem, but I doubt it since I can receive phone call in this condition. This started to happen after I flashed this Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM from HTC (I have original S710). Flashing Dr.Gonzo's later on didn't bring any luck either. I believe that some power control SW is the main culprit. I've read that many people mention some Tornado Power Control app. Does anybody know can this application be permanently disabled or removed?
are you trying to say that by desabling the light sensor, the problem might go away?
i would also like to know if it possible to have the baklight on the lowest possible brightness forever, because it seems, on a low brightness the problem might go away

I also have this problem with the lightsensor turned off. And also at (as it seems) random moments.
well, even with the light sensor turned off, the problem persisted.
i got my phone to a repair shop of htc's, and they figured out the problem
my phone is now 100% thankfully, the repair man told that the problem was because of bad or malfunctioned circuits, he exchanged them with new ones, and the problem went away,
dont know wich circuits exactly, and he didnt want to tell me, but i suggest anyone having the same problem to try and do the same
probably its a hardware malfunction with these VOX,
its possible since so many times before i've heard about malfunctioned pieces coming out in large quantities for sale.
anyways, cheers everyone, and good luck Portugal in EURO!
I have the same problem. I just noticed that it usually happens when the phone is warm, so if you need to do something on my phone just... take some ice from fridge and put it on back of your mobile. I cant see any more solutions.
Please someone help us!
Update. Problem Solved
Just thought I'd update this thread I started.
I sent the phone back to my dealer (Grapevine in Poole,UK).
A week later, I got a brand new one back from the HTC repair centre.
So far, so good. Looks like the problem's solved.
Mike
Sam problem here,
i called with HTC and they sent them to there repair centre.

Not happy with my Raphael

I am sorry to say, but I am not happy with my new phone !
Some serious problems with it.
1. sometimes when I push the powerbutton nothing hapens, and actualy I can see the phone is fuctioning (round button is flashing for new mail). After a few seconds I get the "famous" grey screen. Reboot is the only option.
2. sometimes I wake up and the phone has boot (I guess) somewhere in the night, because I have to give my accescode for the sim.
3. the "broken glass" isue is a problem and happens twice now
Think these are not small problems for a "Pro" phone.
Right now I don't have a riable and solid phone, and I think a pro phone should be that way .
Hope this things are fixed soon.
I wonder if this is a difference in roms or if you should return your touch pro. I've beating the hell out of my phone software wise to see how it will run and i haven't had a single problem yet. I haven't been charging it via the wall charger so maybe that has something to do with it but i doubt it.
Send it back! At least try that once, if you get the same problem again then either you are very unlucky, or there is a problem with all batches. I haven't had either of those problems once and got the phone the day it came out.
I only see one or two people complaining about these issues.

I am thinking about it, to send it back. But I still hope it is a rom problem, like Bxsteeze said. Flashing another rom could help. Soon that is possible I will try.
If it doesn't help I send it back.(forgive my my English )
TBH i would do it the other way around. If flashing the ROM doesn't help because of a hardware fault and you have flashed another ROM, chances are you may not get the replacement you want.
especially as Olinex haven't finished the SPL Downgrader yet.....
DONT send it back ffs!!
We have just got HardSPL for the thing so you can actually try any ROM you wish, surely its worth the little hassle trying that first?!
I had the same "broken glass" like screen issue only once also when sitting overnight, but it wasn´t charging at all.
I have several other issue´s but it think it´s ROM related, and if it´s not i´m gonna send mine back aswel.
I've had issues 2 and 3 happen to me.
A couple of times now when trying to wake the device from an overnight charge in the morning I get no response, device locked. Soft reset and all is well.
Regarding the broken glass thing, that's definitely a software issue. Its TF3D having a spaz. If you disable it and then re-enable it, all is well.

Hey if anyone doesn't want their Raphael. You could give it to me.

Problems
Hi,
Four problems i found so far.
First the broken glass effect. When the phone is ringing and i turn it on his screen the ringing stops and the 3dflo breaks. Or the screen turns grey.
Problem 2 After it restarts i get an device.exe issue.
Problem 3 volume of normal calling is very low. In a noisy room it is hard to understand the caller.
Problem 4 During a call several hick-ups. Also when the signal strength is max.
For know. It is a nice smartphone but some things need improvement.
Can I remind people there is an issues thread here:

I know a couple of pages got a bit OT about touch sensitive buttons etc but its back on track now. Log your issues in there guys so we can try and help each other better.

And dont forget to add the info to the wiki.
My Touch Pro has had the 'wake up' problem (either refuses to without soft reset or shows me frizzed up screen), has frozen on me during basic setup (following a hard reset) and has given me several spontaneous resets.
It also keeps forgetting my wi-fi network exists.
I feel safe in saying that I have a faulty one, so I'm asking for a replacement.

Samsung i780 error

I hope someone can help me, i bought this phone a while back and it started to give me a cprog.exe error everytime i reset it or when the battery gets low and the phone switches off. Then i must hard reset and that takes it to factory and i must setup again. I did send it back, the flashed the software, but the prob is still there.
Somewhere i read that a chip must be changed to solve it, do someone here know which chip? The guys that i bought the phone from said they will fix it if i know what chip needs replacing!
Please respond, this is a very nice phone but this error is driving me nuts!!
check here may help you:

[Q] Sensation doesn't turn on after charging

Hey all,
I charged my newly Sensation for a whole 24 hours. At the beginning the red LED was on, and it changed after a while to a green light, as it suppose to be.
I was out for couple of hours, and when I came back- the phone won't turn on.
The screen is (sometimes) turned on, and it like screen-black and not off-black. I tried to pull out the battery, and it didn't helped.
None of my computers recognize the device, and the little LED don't light up if it connected to charger nor to the USB.
Is there anyway I can do reset?
What can I do?
(I really can't get it replaced, I bought it from Negri, and I don't live in the USA.. )
Thanks!
try holding the volume rocker down button while pressing the power button, see if anything happens.
I tried, and it didn't helped.
Try this: take the battery out. While holding volume down and power, put the battery back in. This is something from SGS, but maybe it will work.
Swyped from my HTC Sensation
Nope..
(Can Sensation turn on without it's back case?)
I there anyway I can restore to factory settings using a computer or so?

I think this won't help, it looks like a hardware problem, motherboard failure, I'm not 100% sure though, may be some of the more experienced guys here can help.

That's what I was afraid of.
How can I know if that included with my warranty?
I had this same problem with my first sensation and all i did was take the battery out then hold just the power button and put the battery back in. Like I said "first sensation" it had other problems too.
hope this helps

Well, that didn't work either.
Altho, I must say that knowing that someone else had a situation like that, does help.
Thanks!
Arrrrggg....
Changing the phone now will be a pain in the **..
I'll have to send it back to US, and wish they will replace it for me?
Anyone know what's HTC warranty policy?
HTC gives global warranty to every unit, or it's depends on the reseller?
Thanks..
Whilst I can't help you with the warranty, an email to HTC will tell you exactly what's what.
What I can share with you is that it seems a complete hardware failure has happened on more than just a few isolated examples of the handset.
My first one crashed when pairing bluetooth, I pulled the battery, and from that point, it wouldn't do a thing. No power, no USB recognising on the PC or anything. I went back to my carrier, and they replaced it directly for me.
I can tell you that there are more than just a few of us who have experienced this problem... what causes it - who knows... there is rumour at the moment about a build-up of static causing the touch-screen to fail - if that static goes in the wrong direction... it could easily fry your phone.
My advice - keep it physically 'stock - don't put any covers or anything on, to minimise the build-up of static - JUST IN CASE this is the issue.
Thanks niddnet,
It is good to know it not necessarily my fault.
Is it common that new phones have problems like that? I must say it's really shocking. Phone dies in a middle of BT pairing!? Weird.
