[BUG] Messages Crash

Ok, I'm getting pretty annoyed now ...
I still have the problem with the sound crashing after nog using the Raphael for some time but now I have a second problem.
When I try to open my messages via the TouchFlo3D (either SMS or Email-Inbox) my TouchFlo3D crashes and nothing opens. When I try to open it through Start > Messages, or Start > Programs > Messages nothing happens at all ...
The programs aren't listed in the Taskmanager either.
Softresetting hasn't resolved anything. Do I really need another Hard Reset?
yeah, you probably changed something in the registry, deleted a file, or installed a app and it screwed it up
hard reset should fix it
It just happened suddenly.
Haven't changed a thing.

I'm using the latest XDANDROID on my AT&T Tilt2 (Rhodium) and i just simply can't seem to be able to keep it uninstalled. when i try to uninstall it, it seemed like it is indeed uninstalled but every time i reboot and go into XDANDROID, it's back there.
I do not need the extra features. I just generally prefer the simplistic default message function that android already have.
I've only started using android for a few days so far so if i've missed something simple, i apologize in advance. Likewise, if someone could help me with this, I thank you in advance
P.S. I've tried the search function and i just couldn't find anything about uninstalling handcent SMS rather than uninstalling the default messages.

How did you try and uninstall it? Was it through Settings-> Applications, etc, or was it with an unistalling app?

I tried it via setting--> application and a app called aTrackDog. everytime i tried to uninstall it, it was rather quick so i'm assuming that it is only uninstalling a few files and the handcent sms is fixing it every reboot.

Hmmm, well I would try to install it again, and install an uninstaller called Apex, just search for that, its the first one to come up. If Apex doesn't work, and if another regular uninstall through settings doesn't work, then I would leave it, or wipe your phone again if it bothers you too much to have it.
Remember you can just turn Handcent notifications off and turn on the default notifications, set all the messaging to the default messenger and you'll never even know it was there. But I would try to reinstall then uninstall with both of those methods. Let us know how it goes.

i've upgraded handcent from 2.9.29 to 2.9.30 to 'reinstall' it and then used aTrackDog to remove it. it seemed to work perfectly well. so I've went ahead and rebooted to see if it persisted. it didn't. i now have Handcent SMS 2.9.29 still on and that Apex software is buggy since it didn't detect handcent and a number of other apps on it.
gonna try to figure out how to disable Handcent SMS notification and see if it persist. I don't neccessarly have to reset my phone since the XDANDROID is running purely from my microSD (using HARET).
Handcent SMS is really really annoying for me now cause I still have to go into the default SMS client for the notification for that to stop. I'm essientally having double notication for every messages i'm getting.
P.S. I've just noticed that these other apps are also persisting too despite my effort to uninstall them;
Digital Rain
Hero Clocks
Live Wallpaper Picker
Starfield

Well, I'm unfamiliar with the inner workings of Xdandroid and why it wouldn't be uninstalling the apps you don't want, but I'm very familiar with Handcent. So to turn of the notifications, open Handcent and on the screen with all of your conversations press the wrench in the top right. Then go down to Notifications and uncheck the "Display message notifications in status bar" This will stop you from getting double notifications. If you wanted to use Handcent and turn off the notifications in the default, open the default with the conversations listed, go to menu, then settings, and the same thing - uncheck the notifications button.
Perhaps after you uninstall the apps, there is something on your SD card that could be making it still be there. Maybe uninstall the app then mount your SD and do a computer search over your sd for anything dealing with Handcent, or whatever app and delete it. I'm sorry I can't be of more help, hopefully someone else using Xdandroid can give some insight.

GMAIL will not send...

I just thought I would put this out there for anyone who might be experiencing the same problem I was on my Captivate.
After many flashes, restores with Titanium Backup, updates, etc, I found myself unable to send email from the Gmail app. I could read email and download attachments just fine, but whenever I hit the send button, they just hung there. Reboots did nothing... in fact I didn't really notice it until I went to the "view labels" and noticed that there were a ton of messages in my Outbox.
Anyway, there is a quick fix for this:
- Go to: Settings > Applications > Manage Applications
- Then open Menu and select Filter
- Choose "All" (which means Show All, not Filter All)
- Now, find the Gmail app and select it.
- Click the "Clear Cache" button.
After doing this, everything in my Outbox finally sent and everything was right and good in the world again.
hope this helps...

Were you looking at the Gmail app or the Gmail data?
Gmail data will be greyed out, because the whole thing is cache.
The Gmail app will become greyed out once the cache has been cleared.

[Q] flush/delete all SMS messages

anybody know how I can flush all my text messages? The "delete all threads" is not responding. I typically use SMS Backup and when I did a restore forgot to set the message limit and now it reloaded about 7000 texts back to 2011.... i cannot get messaging to load unless i reboot and i have one chance to get messages to load. then it just says "loading messages" if i leave and come back in.
I've tried going into settings->applications->messaging and clearing data/cache but all that does it adjust the settings... i need to completely dump the data/app and start fresh
Ideas??
Go to /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases and delete mmssms.db. To clear old pictures from MMS, delete the app_parts DG folder too.

Stock Messaging App Issue

I am running Rooted Stock. Everytime I restart my phone the Stock Messaging App pops up a notification at boot. It says that I have 5300 messages.
When I open it, I see a bunch of threads even though I have deleted them in my other Messaging app. When I try to delete them in the Stock Messaging App it freezes and then force closes. If I open the Stock Messaging App from the app menu there are no threads and when I go into the settings to turn off notifications, the Stock Messaging App freezes and force closes. I have tried going into the app manager and clearing cache and clearing data with no change .
Outside of this I have no problems and I just cant seem to figure this out. I am trying to avoid wiping the phone for what seems like a simple issue. Thank you for any help you can provide.
