Stock Messaging App Issue - T-Mobile LG G2x

I am running Rooted Stock. Everytime I restart my phone the Stock Messaging App pops up a notification at boot. It says that I have 5300 messages.
When I open it, I see a bunch of threads even though I have deleted them in my other Messaging app. When I try to delete them in the Stock Messaging App it freezes and then force closes. If I open the Stock Messaging App from the app menu there are no threads and when I go into the settings to turn off notifications, the Stock Messaging App freezes and force closes. I have tried going into the app manager and clearing cache and clearing data with no change .
Outside of this I have no problems and I just cant seem to figure this out. I am trying to avoid wiping the phone for what seems like a simple issue. Thank you for any help you can provide.

[Q] Market and Dialer 2.3.4 Force Closing

I have a SPRINT Nexus S4G CDMA, Unlocked, rooted, with stock ROM. Both my dialer and Andriod Market are Force Closing. On the dialer the Force Close dialog comesand if don't answer the dialog the call goes though. If click force close or wait it disconnects the call. Market 2.3.4 just crashes and closes right away. I have tried unistalling and reinstalling Android Market 2.3.4 for 2.3.apk. Does anyone have a solution for the Android Market.
P.S. I also have a Samsung Moment, rooted with 2.2

try clearing cache for the google apps, market and dialer applications
Market and Dialer 2.3.4 Force Closing
Clearing the Data worked to resolve the dialer FC. The Market FC is chronic. When I clear the cache it stays open a little longer, if I clear the data I get the disclaimer and it stays open a few seconds longer. I have also uninstalled it reinstalled to no avail. I have try many installations. My new question is how do I find the right apk for my phone and OS.
androidmarketv236.apk
android.market.2.3.6.android.apk
android.market.v2.3.4.For.android.2.3.apk
vending_2.3.4.apk
com.android.vending-1.apk
vending.apk
They all seem to install and they all crash.
Can some tweak or automated process killer be causing this?

stock messaging app problem - my threads stopped updating

Has anyone had this happen? I have a stock HTC One X that I have rooted. Everything was fine, but now, starting today, when I create a text message, I click send, and it reloads the thread, but my text does not show up - it's just the same last text showing from before the problem started. When people send me texts, I do not see them, but I do get the notification. I rebooted the phone, and cleared the app cache to no avail.
I tried Handcent, and it works just fine. However, handcent has that funky menu bar at the bottom that I hate, and I get a notification from both Handcent and from the stock messaging app, which is annoying.
Any ideas on how to fix this are much appreciated.
Once I hit about 6000 messages I wasn't able to even load threads. I'm just using GO SMS Pro until there's a stable CM10 release for this phone.
Try going into setting and clearing the apps cache then reboot.
Thank you for the replies - I already cleared the cache. I ended up "fixing it", or rather, the problem went away, when I deleted the threads from my best friend and wife. The only thing I can think of is that maybe there is a thread cap, and I message them a lot? Iunno, but it's working now.

Moto G 4g hangouts force close every time

i'm having problems with with hangouts force closing every time i'm trying to type a message (on google keyboard)
the letters don't appear on the text input box, and will force close on the 2nd work every time
tried uninstalling to original hangouts, clearing cache, clearing data, still happens
i'm thinking it's art, but i dont think anyone else is having this problem
i switched back to dalvik and hangout still force closes
so basically, i can't use hangouts anymore..
does hangouts depend on any other apps? i've disabled some apps on my phone, nothing that seemed useful though, but that's the last idea i have on why it's doing this
Maybe you can try clearing the cache from Hangouts.
settings - apps search for Hangouts and clear the cache.

Stock Messaging App FC

Greetings....run all stock and installed G955U5QU2CRC5 over the air. Stock message app closes after opening. I can scroll but cannot open messages. Then app quits.
Cleared app cache and data. Wiped system cache. Starting in safe mode produces same results.
Thoughts....
late,
