Wizard WM5 Registry Tweak Question - General Questions and Answers

When I receive a text message while my phone is on vibrate it vibrates for like three seconds. Is there something I can change in the registry to reduce this time? I've seen some how-to's on registry tweaking, but they only talk about the regular call ringtone modding.

you could use PhoneAlarm to setup profiles.

How to enable "repeat" in sounds and notifications

I was wondering if there are any tweaks or any way to just have the "repeat" tab available for all the notifications?
I really need this for my missed calls and missed sms messages.
I have a t-mobile mda vario and i was wondering if any one could help me?
And is there any way to further increase the overall volume on the phone and to import different kinds of vibration types? I just wanted to know because i want to further enhance my phone capabilites.
Please search for "How to Enable Repeat Play Audio Sound Notifications in Windows Mobile"
You will find the solution!
Teknasia, why don't you link to your answer to this question? I did your suggested search, and the first 6 links are all copies of this post.
The answer from teknasia is at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3319983#post3319983
The solutions posted don't really work
If we are honest we should let folks know that the 'repeat' registry hack does not really work the way a normal user would expect. For example the one commonly posted for SMS messages keeps alarming until the 10 minute mark, even if the message is already read.
So while it is true that you can enable repeat notifications for events such as text messages, the reality is it does not work perfectly.
If you want something that works, meaning once I read the message the notifications should stop, then there are products out there such as phoneAlarm that do the trick, and more, quite nicely.
PhoneAlarm in my opinion is the best solution not only for repeat sounds for SMS, Missed Calls, E-mails but also reminders from the Calendar and Tasks

Message and Alert Vibrating

Is there a means to set how my device vibrates for different alerts? For example, when I recieve a text message and it is set to vibrate, it rumble 3 times for about a second each. When I receive a phone call, it vibrates constantly for about 5-6 seconds. So, is there a way within Windows Mobile, like a registry edit or with third party program, to manage the wibrate mechanism?
You can set the lights and vibration in Windows Mobile from Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Sounds & Notifications -> Notifications.
Some of the other forum users may have better options for you using 3rd party programs.
I also would like to know this. I have tried many things, I would rather not download another app, but do a registry edit to fix this constant vibrate issue. Does anyone know the registry edit to fix the long vibration when receiving text messages?

wiery problem!!!

guys i know this sounds strange but there is some registry problem with my VOX. whenever a receive a sms message my phone vibrates and ring, even if i switch it to RING ONLY from the profiles menu. can anybody tell me the REGISTRY TWEAK for disabling the vibration whenever i receive a message. Same is the problem in each and every profile.

vibration duration?

I'm Running NATF v4.7 on my fuze and everything works great nice and speedy. The only question I have and this really isn't ROM specific I don't think, is there a way to change the duration of the vibrate when you get a new sms? I keep my phone on vibrate most of the day on my desk and the way it is now it's about a 8 second vibrate and its more of a ringtone then a quick alert.
~Thanks
have you looked into the sms notification in sounds and notifications in settings
to see what you can do with the settings there?
I have , all you can do from there is turn vibration on and off but not change how long it will vibrate.
I was also wondering the same thing. I just got my fuze the other day and first thing i did was flash NATF's 4.7 so i thought it was the device.. Do other roms not vibrate as long for a sms?
Also there are registry keys to edit the script of rings and alarms etc.. if we can find the one for sms we can tell if its fixable or not.
theres actually an app for this....its called VA alert and you can find it on blownfuze.org
Thanks for recommending that site, got some interesting apps on it. BUT VAlert (i think thats what you were referring to) only edits the ringtone script.

For incoming calls you definitely want VAlert1.21 (updated) by this guy which will let you customize down to the millisecond the pulsing patterns of the vibrator so that it gets your attention better than it otherwise would. I don't know if there's a similar thing for text and email but get this and subscribe to the thread for updates.

I searched through the registry and could not find a script for text messages.
Anyone that has used NATF's 4.7 rom and another rom, is the text vibrate duration the same, or shorter on other roms?

I've used about ∞ roms and so far with all of them they all have a long vibration for if you have the phone on any setting above just vibrate, and then have a three pulse vibration for if you have the phone set on just vibrate. I've also wanted to change this too a different setting, but unfortunately the closest thing thats ever came up is VAlert, and that doesnt deal with SMS . I've also looked in the registry, but I couldn't find anything
if you go to [HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\Ringtone0\] You have the String Value "Script" By default it is av0pw3r [a=activate, v=vibrate, 0, p=play, w=wait, 3 seconds, r=repeat]
So this tells the device when you get a call it should activate the device, vibrate 0 (continuoulsy, if it was 1, it would only vibrate for a second) play the ringtone, wait 3 seconds, then repeat.
I'm pretty sure VAlert is just so you don't have to edit the registry manually.
NOW to our situation, since "Ringtone0" is for incoming call ringtone, maybe we can manually add a new key that refers to the new message sound and manually add a script and see if that works? ANyone have any ideas what the device refers to for new messages?

Ringtone1? Ringtone2? Maybe the numbers are used to designate different types of incoming data

Changing WM6.1 Vibration

I'm wondering where in the registry the settings are for how the phone vibrates when in "vibrate" mode?
For example, when I receive a call, it's quite a long vibration, but when I receive an SMS it's 3 short vibrations.
Any help is much appreciated!!
Still looking for some help. I've found the place in the registry where I can change how the ringtone plays, but not the vibration.
If U want change Vibration style for incoming calls then use small program Valert.
Saw this a few days ago, but I'm looking to change the vibration for SMS, Email, etc.
Anyone know if changing the profile's .xml file would work?
