X7510 GPS is there a way to deactivate "Static Navigation" - Advantage X7510 General

Hi,
I read a tread about setting the GPS Mode from 2 to 1 in the registry on an other device with Qualcomm MSM6275 chipset.
But the given Key is not available on X7510!
Does anybody know how to change the setting on the X7510?
It would be nice to seek geocaches without a BT GPS
Thanks
Jan

Just set your Geocaching software to use Port 4 (shared) or Port 5 (exclusive).

Hi Ponder,
I do not have problem to get GPS working! Its just that the device has Static Navigation activated. HTC told me, its not possible to change the mode, but they also told about other devices where somebody deactivated SN.....
And with SN Geocaching is no fun....
Greetings
Jan

You may get better results with a 3rd party program like Beeline which has a free trial.
Although SN can't be turned off in the gpsOne chipset, some software can extract accurate location data.

GPS information on today screen?

im just checking if you guys know of any program that puts out gps information on the todayscreen.. like lat, long, time, speed etc.
im trying the program Navio right now. and it works but i would like to test more programs that have the same function.
one thing to benefit from this is that instant fix would lock faster as the pda already knows the position when eg tomtom is launched.
(i am using Mio A701)
Gps Sentry program works aswell

I doubt it would work like that. The time delay is either for the GPS receiver to aquire the lock or for the application to start and begin communicating with the receiver.
Having another application utilising the GPS receiver and then starting Tomtom is likely to cause problems, as Tomtom does not like sharing. You would need to use the WM5 GPS application or GPSGate to allow the sharing of the data from the receiver.

GPS?

I have seen a few threads on here about it, but they usually have to do with people having problems. I would really like some sort of bluetooth gps solution for my VOX. I really don't want to spend $500 or more on a tomtom or garmin or something like that because I will only be using it very rarely. So to make it easy for me, and everyone else.
Whats the best combination of hardware and software to turn my vox into a GPS navigation device? Thanks.
I'm currently looking at a holux M-1000 receiver and I already have google maps installed, any help is appreciated.
ok i had this problem with my vox looking around for a good sat nav program and i found out that route 66 was the best it works fine with no problem with out messing around with settings all i did was install it and then run it just make sure your bluetooth gps is on and paired with the phone and also make sure you have ticked the com port settings if you pm me i can help you out with a link to get the programe hope this helps
I would say smart2go is your solution.
You pay for the time you intend to use it.
7 Euros (roughly) give you access to 1 week of navigation, 50Euros to 1 year... If I remember well.
Maps get updated, you either download the portion your crossing via GPRS or you store them completely via your PC on the memory card.
You go on Holiday 1 month and you need Nav? Pay just for 1 month.
TomTom is surely very good... But cheaper can also be nice.
Ka.
TOMTOM
I use Tomtom mobile 5 and this proves to work very well, Cost me very little(less than you might think) from tomtom direct so its very cheap and currently the best navigation solution available for windows mobile, Version 6 will work but it needs some tweaking. One issue with tomtom mobile 5 is that you MUST remember to name your bluetooth gps "BT GPS" during pairing otherwise you could have some issues with tomtom recognizing your gps module.
@kast,
what version of smart2go do I have to install on the vox ?
The windows mobile 5 phone edition ?

hi
you must name the gps "OTHER BLUETOOTH GPS"
when you sync it with the phone
it will work well with tomtom and other soft
I don,t know with tomtom but with Efficasoft GPS Utilities you must check in Menu->GPS Setup->AutoSearch Bluetooth GPS reciver, and see if there is your device, or choose manual your device.
After that don't forget to go to Menu->Start GPS

Good morning I have a probleme with Garmin XT and my HTC VOX it connect has my GPS but rest blocked on research satellite
install this cab and then try
View attachment enablegps.CAB
it has few registry tweaks enabling gps connection
this will help you connect
his step always not
I think your GPS programs might have been "fighting" for the GPS data or that it had bad epheremis data. It is recommended that with WM 6.1 and above to have the GPS "managed" by the system.
You do this by going from the Start Menu to Settings to System and select External GPS. Then you want to select the Port your programs will use to obtain GPS data. Normally the four lower ones were commonly used by most computer systems which is why I recommend selecting COM9 as the port.
On the Hardware tab, you need to identify which Port your GPS is on. I used GPSToggle, which is a Today plug-in, to start and warm up my GPS. You can read about GPSToggle here: http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-gps-toggle.html.
Download the CAB file which I recommend installing to your device internal memory. Then go to your Today screen and then to Settings menu followed by Today. On the Items check the box next to BAF GPS Toggle. Click okay and this will place GPSToggle on your Today screen.
Unfortunately most smartphones do not have dedicated GPS chips because they eat battery power. On a dedicated receiver like a Personal Navigation Assistant (handheld GPS aka PNA), the GPS is turned on automatically when the PNA is powered up. Depending upon when your GPS was last activated, a dedicated SIRF chip can go from cold-start to 3D fix in as little as 42 seconds and as long as three minutes if epheremis data is present and the GPS has not been moved more than 10 miles from its last power up.
For most smartphone users, the last time your GPS was fired up was when it was built in China or wherever. The GPS can retain that information as its old epheremis data which is used to communicate with satellites. If the data is bad and old, it can take much longer for your GPS to lock-on and get a 3D fix.
For this reason, it is recommended that on smartphones that a GPS utility like the ones mentioned above be used. In essence, the smartphone's GPS must be "warmed up" from a cold start state to warm state where it is communicating with satellites in resolving a 2D fix ultimately to hot state where 3D fixing is available.
GPSToggle on your Today screen will "warm up the GPS" for you when you turn it. You will then see bars indicating the number of satellites the GPS has found. Once it syncs with them, the bar will go solid. When four bars go solid, 3D fixing is available. At that point you could turn on your satnav program and should be good to go.
If you see the altitude and nothing else comes in then the BT connection is obviously ok, so pairing, establishing the connection via COM port and the program using the connection seems ok.
Your problem then is the GPS receiver not sending the data required.
Find a program that resets the GPS receiver, if you can remove the battery put it out for half a minute and reinsert it. Once the GPS has a satelite fix again it should deliver all data.
A good free powerful utility is SirfTech - obviously only useful if your BT Mouse has a SIRF chipset.

Hello, was enablegps.cab developed here on xda? If so, is there a thread on it?

Samsung Omnia Pro B7330 - Problems with TomTom internal GPS

Hi @ all,
first of all a happy new year
I wonder if anyone has the Omnia B7330 running with TomTom 7 on it. I have the problem that TomTom doesn't find the internal GPS. I tried all possible settings with
"internal GPS"
" other NMEA GPS"
and all possible Baud rates and com Ports
but TomTom does not find the internal GPS.
In the meantime I wonder if perhaps the internal GPS might be damaged and I should send the device back??
On my HTC Snap (Maple) TomTom recognizes the internal GPS immediately.
I als tried to manage something concerning "Port Splitter", but most of these programs are not for WM without touchscreen....
Any ideas how to get this working?
Best Regards
Jolig
Hi, if you want to know if your device is working or not, try GPS Test 1.04. There is a cab file for it, "google is your friend" as they say. 8) If you run the program (it is good for non-touchscreens as well) and it can find a signal, then you have to fine tune your navigation software, if no signal, then you have a faulty device.
Happy New Year!
Welcome to forums
Hope this helps:

Same Thing here...
...the Testapp recognizes the GPS on COM3 with 9600Baud and can work with it. The GPS Module seems to be working well, found my position after 10secs. TomTom however can't work with the GPS-Module... I'm on TomTom 7.910.
Any idea?
JC
Try this
-----Omnia Configuration-----
Settings\Hardware\External GPS
*GPS program port: COM2
*GPS hardware port: COM9
- Baud Rate: 9600
*Manage GPS automatically: YES
------Tomtom Configuration-----
*GPS NMEA
*Baud rate 4800
*COM2
IMPORTANT
When you make all the steps you have to see in the Satellites top/right windows of the tomtom a little Yellow/Black ball rolling, that means the GPS is working. You only have to wait to your Omnia GPS find the signal.
-> You can download an XTRA GPS DATA to improve the finding speed of the GPS, personally I can not see the diference between NO XTRA DATA and XTRA DATA.
Settings\Hardware\Enchanced GPS
*Enable XTRA DATA CONNECTION
*Disable automatically download.
*Press download button
With that configuration in my omnia I don't have any problem with Tomtom.
The Testapp also recognizes the GPS on COM3 on my B7330.
But it dosen't work on TomTom 7.910.
Is there a way to change the GPS to use COM2 ?
tom tom
Hello!
Do this:
use another phone with touch screen, set the tom tom gps as an external port and the appropriate speed,
save your settings. fire up tomtom on omni pro b-7330.
Can you type the addresses correctly? I had a problem with another phone with qwerty by tomtom7.
Erroneous indication of gps in omni pro B-7330 / no fix
Erroneous indication of gps in omni pro B-7330 / no fix
I need help, my gps in the B-7330 incorrectly indicates the distance of some 400km,
Is it a bug?
after uploading the google maps, fix grabs for a few seconds, and incorrectly states the place automapa (another program to navigation) also indicates the wrong place but other than google maps, the difference of some 1000km.,
I used GPSTEST 1.04:
COM3: 9600kb.
Is it firmware bug, or damage is hard?
using the settings from the post in advance Com9: omnia has gps pro, but did not catch the fix - no signal satleitów.
So, are you sure the port Com9?
So I need help
You should try posting on the proper section for this non HTC device:

TomTom is pants on the 7330.
I'm using Route 66 (v7) with UK and Europe maps. GPS can be interigated through the menu and cold fix is quicker than most I've used.
No GPS lag, and other than the soft button icons sitting above the call and call end buttons (can cause confusion), I would recommend going down this route instread (no pun intended)
Also strangely, the 'browse map' facility is managed through the 'zoom to' function.
