in t-mobile ger they are blocked, but i can still access them with palringo or other encrypted apps tho

I haven't tried my phone-as-a-modem connection in a while, and yesterday when I tried it I could not connect to any messenger.
It's a shame, it was a good service.
Anybody knows if O2 UK blocks the ports?

Hello everybody,
Ive just received my HTC Fuze, i was kind exited. Just taked it out from the box to try the 3G browsing. I introduced the access points and the l/p settings for connection. It does connect to the 3G network witouth problem, but i receive no data, can't display any page/information. I don't know if the Fuze is faulted or something. Any idea???? thanks in advance.
PD: weather update works, and it connects to the 3G network. but dont work in Opera/IE
there is nothing to configure with the fuze if you are on the AT&T network. all you do is put in your sim card.
I had a few issues myself. If you were using isp.cingular then it might not connect there any more unless you purchase the tethering plan. Even then, isp.cingular will only work for direct push and tethering.

Try this
Start>>>>Setting's>>>>Connections>>>>Connections>>>>set up my proxy server>>>un-check "this network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet"
i wound a useful thread, where you can disable some sort of hidden proxy.cab thing installed on device (programs>proxy tools), now IE works but still no luck with Opera, im looking forward to upgrade this factory AT&T Rom because i don't feel my Fuze very smoothly
PD: also check on what you suggested, but it was already unchecked.
Thanks for helping mate

im into another network, i bought my fuze unlocked in eBay, i tried the .cab app to uninstall hidden proxy (programs>tools>proxy) and now i can browse using IE, but not into Opera.
Im looking forward to change the factory ROM because it doesn't feel too smoothly.
Any suggested ROM/Radio to install, i really don't want cooked roms with extra apps/games
thanks in advance for the help mate

If I remember right, the default Opera browser on the Fuze is set up to only work with the proxy, so you'll have to flash a new rom most likely (but you really should do that anyway.)
Why did you start two threads? Did you not read the rules?

G1 Help! T-mobile hotspot access via laptop using G1

Hey everyone, I know you cannot use the the G1's hotspot access on any device other then the G1. I spend alot of time in Starbucks. Is there a way to use the G1's hotspot access for Internet on my laptop. Tethering via wi-fi is nice as is but with only edge here in Hawaii, its too slow. I was hoping someone could help me figure this out. Hopefully just a socks proxy, method will be developed for web surfing.
username should be your mobile number without dashes so 9545555555 and pw should be last 4 of social security number as listed on tmobile account, if not call and theyll fix account, mine was inactive at first

hey! thats my phone number!!!!
You can use the port forwarding app in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=443025. Get you G1 signed on to the hotspot and use the program to tether your laptop.
I wasn't aware that I could use t-mobile hotspots from my laptop by logging in with my phone number. I'll have to try that out next time I'm in Starbucks. Thanks for the tip!
So if the above works for you, you're probably set, but if you have rooted your phone you can also use the tetherblu app here:
http://androidactivity.com/
This would allow you to use the free t-mob wifi hotspot access on your phone and connect to it with your laptop. It's a MUCH faster connection than the SOCKS proxy method, and you don't have to carry around a USB cable.

I was told that doesn't apply to the G1 data Hotspot account. Can anyone else confirm that? I'd love to have it working again.
Of course, I know I can use my G1 and tether the Hotspot to the laptop.

That's what I was told. Pisses me off because I was told that the G1 data plan included "HotSpots" without being told that it was on the phone only.
You can get 2 hours free at Starbucks, FYI, if you buy something on a Starbucks Card (gift card, not the credit card).
I was told that even my laptop would work... but soon found out otherwise.

Honestly the idea of paying for WiFi has run its course. All of the (non-Starbucks) coffee shops around here offer free WiFi.
One thing you might find interesting is that pretty much every sports bar (e.g. Buffalo Wild Wings) has free WiFi. Why? Two words: fantasy baseball.
Even our airport (Denver) has free WiFi now, although you have to sit through an ad to access it.
Any news on this. I thought I had seen somewhere an app that did this, but I can't find it anymore. Why doesn't someone make a "TetherPatch" application. Screen splits into two halves. On one side how your computer is connecting to g1 on the other how your g1 is connecting to internet. And the app makes the "patch" to get the data flowing. If you make the app, gimme some love.

There are tethering apps out there already.
Could you tell me which apps allow me to connect this way?
laptop >> USB >> G1 >> WiFi (Tmo HotSpot)
I found the one that let's you connect to the net over the 3G network. I am looking for a way to use this concept at a hotspot. Thanks. All my searches don't seem to get me that info.
It's a no go with the G1 data plan. You can connect to the hotspot via the G1 but not from your laptop. Kinda stupid in my eyes seeming I could do it with when I had my Dash...but oh well...on to other methods.

By the way this was verified by T-Mo and I even tried fighting about it...damn...damn...damn

Windows Live Mobile sync error

Hi there,
Just wondering whether there is anyone else experiencing my problems with Windows Live Mobile and synchronization today.
Until this morning things have been going swimmingly: I am running version 10.6.0039.130 of Windows Live Mobile on WM6.1 on a Touch Diamond and was getting my email pushed to me.
Then suddenly it all stopped. If I try to force a sync it gives me this message:
Failed to synchronize the folder list. The server didn't respond.

Followed by this one:
Windows Live is temporarily unable to connect. You may be out of coverage for data connections. Please try again later, or contact your mobile service provider for assistance.

I'm on Orange in the UK and at the weekend Orange's mobile internet went all haywire. They fixed it though, and I can surf the net now, and things like weather and stocks on my Diamond all upgrade without issue. I am wondering whether Orange's repairs have had some specific impact on whether it allows Windows Live Mobile to connect. Or is it the Windows Live servers which are having problems? I can connect to my account on a PC.
Anyone else here in my situation?
Okay, it is definitely Orange as I have just put a 3 SIM card in there, and all my emails downloaded at once.
Hmm... Methinks shenanigans are afoot with Orange...
Okay, I just wanted to reassure people that Orange and Windows Live Mobile are playing nice again. Orange must have reopened their ports.
Thank goodness for that.

WiFi problem

Hi
Im havin a problem. In my office my HTC Prophet detects a Wifi signal and it connects to it very easily. But there is no browsing available.
Ive talked with our IT Department, they said they placed no restriction on use of WiFi and ours is an unsecure network. I gave a proxy in settings but still in vain.
My Rom details are in my signature.
Im looking forward to your help
Regards
Hey,
Have you tried connecting to any other wifi network?
Delete the settings from your prophet and try again.
Ive never had problems with wifi browsing with that rom. Does the connection work for any other apps that need internet, like weather?
Proxy settings shouldnt be needed using wifi??
Thats a good idea, ill try it on another network
Ive deleted all the settings n tried again i-e even mms and gprs settings
I gave proxy but it was in vain

yh dont even bother with proxy, its not needed for wifi, same for deletin mms and gprs settings lol... are u sure its not secured? That seems pretty slack for a company wifi lol.
Yup, its slack
Ive deleted all my settings and still no use
My colleague is running Wifi & browsing net with his nokia E-60, this means there isnt any problem with the wifi.
Yup it isnt secure, but im still unable to access it
can you update the weather using your wifi?
Did you look at Vincents thread for the rom to see if there are any problems?
No, weather doesnt update
Ive seen his thread whose link is in my signature, but no use!
ok asking the obvious now but just to check, did you hard reset after your flash? Did wifi ever work using your current rom?
Might be worth trying a reflash, backing up first of course
Yup, I did hard reset and WiFi worked after I installed this ROM on my Prophet
I think this must mean that there is a software clash with an app you have added, or registry is messed up. Have you tried deleting cookies etc in your browser? Your using Internet Explorerer yes? have you tried Skyfire out of interest?
Might be time for a hard reset...

[Q] question about mobile hotspot and carrier possibly blocking website?

I was wondering if a carrier can block a website through mobile hotspot to just the PC only, the website doesnt respond on my pc but opens just fine in my mobile browser, it also opens just fine in on my pc if i use my mobile hotspot from a different carrier so it seems like they somehow blocked it to just my pc. is this possible? any way to work around it and get it working on my pc again since it loads in the mobile browser? thanks.

hrm, i feel dumb now, never even thought of that, lol!
Someone else told me to uncheck ipv6 on the adapter and that actually fixed it. still not sure what exactly caused the problem in the first place though.
