Upgrade failed, now what? - General Questions and Answers

I tried the XDA developers upgrade V1.2 for my phone (sx56) and I've failed. error message was to check device manager to see if comm/USB was working properly. The screen on the phone said upgrading will take 5 minutes, then the connection thru USB failed. Now my phone screen still says upgrading and it's been 20 minutes with no progress. Now it's telling me to connect my device using activesync and it still connected.
Now what?

Is there someone here I can send this phone to? It's locked up and still in the upgrading screen, now I'm worse off than when I started?????

xda mini NO GSM, upgrade failed

My Xda mini was fine for a little while.. and then the phone just dead suddenly.
when I reset the device, there is NO GSM at the start up screen (the O2 logo).
Then i tried to upgrade the rom using JAM 1.06, and qtek 1.11 and the upgrade failed at the step 1. UPGRADING RADIO.
Now the xda wont start, just a screen with serial v.1.00.. tried and tried and nothing works.
It seems that the radio wont upgrade because there is no gsm.. i'm not sure what to do now.
Sounds like you may need to call tech support to have it repaired
Likely ur problem can be resolve
screen with serial v.1.00
Click to collapse
The above message means the Mini is in "boot loader" mode. Try to reflash again. It should work. Take away the other 2 .nbf file and left the "radio.nbf" in the same folder which you going to flash. Retry the same thing (when the Mini shown with "Serial 1.0" if nothing is connected, it'll show on your screen the message "USB 1.0" if the sync cable is connected). Good luck and god speed .

Help! Seven-Eighter Program Error, "Restarting your phone...Error. Timeout occured
So I have a Samsung Focus that I tried to install windows phone 7.8 and it was going through the update until I got this error message, "Restarting your phone... Error. Timeout occurred while waiting for device to reboot." Should I unplug because the device has the picture of plugging the phone into the computer image on it. THanks
I unplugged the phone, and tried to install it again. I got another error code twice. Now the phone is not being recognized by Zune or by the USB port, any tips on what I can do?
So the phone worked, I keep trying to make it work with the update tool but it seems that an error code keep happens.
Ok the only thing I can think of is that you haven't installed the exact same language files that were originally on the device before you attempted the update, It wont work unless they are the same :fingers-crossed:
after MANY error codes I was finally able to install wp 7.8 on my Samsung focus. I keep getting some error, I helped a friend through Skype, but finaly worked through trial and error.

[Q] I think I softbricked my One X

Hello everyone.
Just to get it out of the way, I am very inexperienced with android products. At the moment, I'm having trouble getting my HTC One X (at&t) version to turn on. It all started when I decided to update the android version from 4.1. something to 4.2.2. I went to this site, the HTC website (www . htc . com / us/support/htc-one-x-att/news/) and downloaded the executable file and ran it . Once installation was done a message popped up on my computer stating an error occurred. I look at the phone and it shows the HTC splash screen for a few seconds and it shuts off and immediately turns back on with the HTC splash screen again, a bootloop. I then found out that I can restore the device by entering fastboot and selecting the factory restore option. This didn't restore the device but just entered the bootloop process again. I entered fastboot mode again and this time I selected the recovery option which also failed. I hook up the phone with USB 2.0 to the computer to transfer a stock ROM but computer doesn't recognize the phone anymore ( the computer did at first recognize the phone during installation of 4.2.2). After various attempts to get the phone to be recognized by computer, I gave up and called it quits and decided to power it off through the fastboot option. And now I can't even turn on the phone at all. I plug it to the computer to see if that will prompt the phone to turn on but all that does is charge the battery. The computer does recognize that something is connected to it but fails to recognize the phone.
Is there anything I can do to get this phone working again? I would much appreciate any help with this.
Ok guys I managed to get the phone to turn on again, buts its still in bootloop. Once the phone turns on, the computer notices that the phone is connected and tries to install the drivers but fails as soon as the phone restarts. Essentially the computer is unable to finish installing the proper drivers in time. The driver that its trying to install is "HTC MTP Device".
Put the phone into bootloader mode and run the RUU executable again.

Ok its finally working. Thanks for the help!
