Wiped/Factory Reset - G1 Android Development

my phone is not reading my sd card..so i did a wiped and still my phone wont read the card.i did a factory reset and the same issue continues.i have jf.1.31v rc33.so my question is when you do a wipe or factory reset doesnt it suppose to erase everything??meaning the theme and auto rotate.i did the wipe and factory rest and my phone still has the theme and auto rotate even though i dont have droidsans tools installed.is it possible to restore the phone to factory settings through terminal or adb??

i have the same problem, my phone wont read my sd card. looks like something corrupted it.

try your sd card in something else, like another phone or a card reader, and if it still can't be read, then your cards ****ed
and, probably, yes. i imagine you can wipe your phone with adb or terminal but i have no idea what the command would be ><

Just reflash back to v1.41 Rc33 and that should erase everything.

His SD card doesnt work, he can't reflash.

my pc and laptop memory card reads the card.so im guessing its the phone.also i cant reflash if my memory card wont work on my phone.i was planning of using the dreaimg.nbh to go back to rc29 and then update it back to jf1.41 rc33.does anyone know the commands to terminal or adb to reset the phone??

Have you tried reformatting it?

yes.i formatted it many times now.i formatted in FAt and then FAt32.i dont know if that matters

I don't know whether this is related or not, but I completely lost the ability to get a data connection unless I was using WiFi.
I tried wiping and reinstalling, including different builds, but still no WiFi.
A little while ago, I was going to wipe again. I took out my SanDisc 8GB SDHC card, and put in the card which came with my phone, which had nothing but the latest update.zip on it.
When I went to boot into recovery mode, I got distracted, and didn't hold the buttons long enough. The phone started normally, and I had the edge symbol for the first time in two weeks.
I took out the 1 gig card, and put in the 8 gig card, and when I started my phone, no edge. I put the 1 gig card back in, and had edge again.
My phone was able to read both cards. On my 8 gig card, I have some photos, and backups made with Astro and My Backup, but that is all. (I also have never partitioned the card for installing the apps or caches on the SD card). On the 1 gig card, there is nothing but JF's latest ADP update.
Is there an app or something that is doing strange things to the SD card?

to my understand i really dont think so.specially that it has to do with the phone and its service...but you never know.

2gb minisd card problem!

I bought a card off ebay 6 months ago and its worked fine since. Tonight, my phone seemed to have crashed so i rebooted it, and when it loaded back up a message appeared 'do you want to format this storage card to make it readable? this will permanently delete any files on the card.'
So i click yes, but nothing happens.. i get the same message everytime i reboot and i cannot access my sd card.
I dont have a card reader to try access/format it from my pc..
Ive looked around for answers but cannot find anything decent.
Help!
anybody?...
Never know our phone can format SD CARD. Seems like your data is corrupted, you really need to reformat it using card reader

[Q] SD Card Error

So I had rooted my phone no problem, been using it for over 2 months now. Again, no problem what so ever. I've just installed CM7 on my mytouch 4g slide and noticed a lot of bugs that still needed to be worked out. so I wiped my phone clean and restored it to an earlier date. After I did that, my sd card has been giving me an error as stated "SD card blank or unsupported filesystem." I've tried formatting it, other SD cards and nothing works. is there anyone that can help?!
i wouldn't know how that happened to your sdcard, but when you say you tried formatting it, how did you format it? i once got an sdcard from an ebay purchase, and it gave me that very same message and was unusable(and formatting it with the phone wasn't working). i made it usable by formatting it with a program called SDFormatter, which i downloaded free for Windows. took a montrously long time for the format, but once it was done, the sdcard was fine.
that sucks that you seem to have lost all your stuff tho?
Try flashing a different ROM. The CM7 we have is still in alpha. Give Team Douche time to work out the bugs.
the problem doesn't seem to be the SD card. because all the data was still there. I tried using another SD card thinking maybe that was the problem but it gave me the same error.
I've already factory reset my phone and its still showing the same problem
Could be dust in the SD card slot or some other debris. Try a little bit of compressed air..

I installed the SDFormatter program you mentioned and formatted my wife's 16gig card. Prior to the format the card wouldn't mount in either of our phones and very sporadically on the PC. Now the card will mount without a problem and is usable again.
Thanks bud,

64gb sdcard causing reboots

I have a 64gb ultra card that caused my phone to reboot. It wiped itself of all my needed emergency data (nandroids, Rom install files)
The reboots started randomly after not changing anything for weeks. I did my usual nandroid back up using twrp then rebooted the system. On my way to work the phone rebooted 5 times in a row so I tried to wipe cache and Dalvik to fix it... But it didn't help.
I wiped everything and was going to do a fresh install but my memory card was missing my files (folders were there but data is missing in folders
Luckily I had a old install file for acr that I used for emergency. After fresh install it still was rebooting... I removed the memory card and it has been without issues.
Anyone have any advice to why this would happen? Is it just the phone hates exFAT file system? Or do I have a faulty card...
I'm currently formatting (full format not quick format) the card but I learned my lesson to not back up to external storage

Had a similar issue. Only noticed it when I went to flash a new kernel and my phone would boot up fine, then reboot constantly at right about 1 minute and 30 seconds exactly each time. Not sure if it is the SD card failing or what...
That said, i noticed as well that my nandroids that would usually restore fine would now fail. I ended up deleting my back ups since they weren't working, then backing up all other content to my PC. Formatted SD Card in the phone, and everything seems to be fine now. All other files on my SD Card seemed fine, but im backing up from now on to my internal memory.
Had similar recurring issues with a Sandisk 128g card. Had formatted FAT32 as well as exFAT and was finding that I'd do a Nandroid, reboot, then the handset would report that the sdcard was unformatted. I'm still not quite sure that I've got things figured out, but I did a complete reformat (long version, not quick) on my Windows 7 PC and then inserted the card into the M8. Rebooted once and the handset still recognized, so rebooted into recovery and did a Nandroid. The recovery recognized the nandroid, and I rebooted to ROM one more time. Everything was fine.
I do keep a backup of my sdcard contents (have had more than one card go south through the years); restored the backup and reinserted the card and looks okay now.
I can't say whether FAT32 is more stable than exFAT because I've had it happen with both formats on this particular card. If you do have recurring issues with the card after complete reformatting, I would suggest a warranty return. (I did that with an older 64g card recently that failed seriously --- the microcontroller was making the card suddenly get red hot.)

I need help my phone has gone to hell...

a couple days back I was copying all my songs from my phone's sd card to my pc. while copying something glitched out and my whole sd card and the folder i was copying to got corrupted so I had to say bye bye to all my data and start fresh (I tried using recuva, but the recovered files were still corrupted). I then was unable to do anything on my phone without it hanging for a few minutes so i decided to do a factory reset. now, my problem is that when I insert my sd card, and try to do something with my internal storage, it says internal memory not formatted, please try again, but when I remove my sd card, my internal memory works just fine. I have absolutely no Idea whats wrong. please help me fix this issue. also my phone was rooted before I did a factory reset.

corrupted sd card but PC sees it just fine

So, about the problem. All was fine untill a few hours ago. My note 10 notified me that my SD card is corrupted. OK, no biggie, lets just take it out and put it back in. Worked before, but not today.
Tried the same SD card in my laptop, worked without any problem. I'm feeling trolled. Next i tried with otg sd card adapter. It says "no supported partition was found".
Next, tried another SD card, still nothing. Tried that one with otg - bam, works. So, it's not card that's bad. Tried another one, was empty so i formatted it on phone. Nope - still corrupted. No matter how many times i formatted it, it's always corrupted.
But it works on laptop. All 3 of them work on laptop. Two of them i can see with otg, the one that was all the time in the phone says no supported partition.
Then i thought, maybe the sd reader in phone broke. Rebooted to recovery and guess what? First SD card that showed corrupted message works just fine in recovery. Now, one reset to factory setting would probably solve the problem but i have tons of apps that i'd need to backup and no space to do it because my sd card ain't showing in OS.
All i wanna know is am i doomed to reseting android or is there any trick i could use to avoid that?
Copy all things on your pc,format the SD Card in the Phone and copy all Things back to SD Card
nope, didn't work. had to reflash OS
