Where can download newest Cooking Kits and OEM Packages? - General Questions and Answers

Where can download newest Cooking Kits and OEM Packages? I would like to using Blackstone to flash into Xperia X1.

You cannot just flash a rom from one phone into another (unless you want to brick your device). If you know how to port the roms, then just look into the phone's forum. Otherwise, if you like your device do not flash your phone with another device's rom.
I hope I just prevented you from doing something you would otherwise regret.

So how to join the programm into X1 ROM. Like i like the TF3D.

Look into the Development and Hacking forums (just don't post new threads with questions in there) since they have ported TF3D for several different devices. If I am not mistaken, your device is a VGA one with graphics acceleration so it should work rather well. Just look around some and you will find it. Good luck.

but i would like to build my own ROM with blackstone or raphael programm in Xperia X1. So which Cooking Kit i should use. Like i like the TF3D or footprint i would like to build into my own ROM.

Search through this and see if you can find what you are looking for...

Ask one of the cooks. I personally have never cooked a rom and honestly don't know for sure. What I do know is that if the base rom is not designed for your device, you will brick it for certain.
My recommendation to you would be to make sure that you know what you are doing (cooking a rom) before doing so. From what I have read so far, you do not seem to be too familiar with the cooking process (I apologize if it is not the case), but I would read a lot if I were you (the Xperia is a pretty expensive device to use it as a test bed).
Good luck to you!

After i have cook the htc rom when it pop up the htc rom builder. I need to select the device as KOVSKY* so i can be flash into Xperia and modify?

The Seduction of Perfection

Firstly, greetings.
I'm sure I'm opening myself up for abuse as per what I've read in countless posts but here goes.
I've been searching, and reading, and learning - hopefully enough to get myself through my first ROM flash without bricking my Kaiser, and for all the information here on this forum I thank you all.
My question however is one that I can't find a straight forward answer; with all these seductive cooked ROMS and shiny new features (CUBE, WM6.1, KaiserDiamond hybrid, D3D) not included on my bog standard phone.. Am I safe to presume that all ROMs in the Kaiser forum will run on my Kaiser? I want to make sure before I'm lured in by a new ROM that I cannot run.
Again, thank you to all the cooks, and those creating the Wiki's.

The only concern would be compatible radios (ie some Roms will not function properly with some radios) just read in the Rom thread to determine compatible radios or flash a rom with a built in radio (l26's new roms for example). Make sure you install hard spl, flash a proper radio and then flash ar new rom and your on your way (don't get nervous if your pda stays in tricolor for a couple of minutes before the rom starts flashing, I freaked out when that happened the first time I flashed).

How to RMA a phone with a cooked ROM?

Hey
My Touch Pro seems to have a fault so I need to RMA it, probably straight to HTC (suspect I'll have difficulties with the shop I bought it from) so I figure I need to flash it back to a stock HTC ROM. One problem is I bought it here in Spain so it had a Spanish ROM before but I don't see one available on the wiki.
So I have a few of questions:
1. Is there any legit way I might have flashed my TP to a WWE ROM that HTC wouldn't disapprove of?
2. Are the ROMS here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Raphael_WM6.1_ROMs the same as regular cooked ROMs in terms of how you go about installing them?
3. Can I remove HardSPL? Do I need to?
Any help gratefully received thanks
Oh also... Can anyone recommend a very plain ROM for Touch Pro? I don't know how to install the plain WM6 ROMS on the wiki so I'd like to test with something as close to a stock ROM as possible just to try to rule out the possibility my fault is actually a ROM issue
(I get lockups when playing audio *and* clicking around between apps. The phone is stable when there's no audio running, and if audio is running and I'm not doing anything else it's also stable, it seems to be the combination that's a problem)
No one?
Can't you download one of the official ROMs from HTC directly? If you're going to be sending it to them, as long as there's an official ROM on it, it shouldn't matter.
I didn't realise they provided them actually. But there don't seem to be any on their site for the TP.
You can use one from the Wiki
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Raphael_WM6.1_ROMs (your link from first post )
Use one thats WWE and HTC (and read the thread to the rom )
good luck!

Thanks. My phone was bought in Spain though so I think I need a Spanish stock ROM. I just found one in the Raphael ROMs forum though hurrah!
Thanks for the help everyone, I think I have everything I need now (found SPL downgrade instructions too)
nice to hear!
good luck with the RMA!

Interested in flashing custom roms need some help

Hi keep reading on how to hardspl my touch pro 2 so i can upgrade 6.1 to 6.5 and it looks pretty simple right i just use the hardspl unlocker so cdma-gsm unlocker on my computer run it. and apparently it shuts off the phone right? So when its still connected i flash a rom am i getting this right? any special carrior file i save b4 i do this? or what? Just need a bit of advice on which rom is very stable and make sure i dont lose any of my functionality of my carrior like picture mail, sms, phone, mms?
What rom would be ideal for me thanks?
First Go here
Then search for a rom that is specific to your carrier. Theres a lot of roms out there on XDA but mainly here on PPCGeeks. You could also use BuildOS which could be found here to build your own rom. But if you don't feel comfortable doing that then I would suggest going with mightyrom on ppcgeeks. That is the one that seems to be stable & not bloated. There are a few versions so READ THE ENTIRE FIRST PAGE on the forum for each rom your interested in regardless of what site you find it in and have your pick according to your preferences. Its very easy with a cooked rom. I just prefer making my own with BuildOS. If you need more help feel free to ask. I dont mind typing...lol.

[Q] experiences with the different ROMs.....any tipps ?

Hallo here in forum
today i want to flash my "new" htc tytn2. a friend gave it to me as present, because he had his new i-phone.
he told me, that he already flashed a few roms (from xda-dev) on the phone, so i think i can use the "Flashing Your First Kaiser Rom (For Noobs)"-guide from STEP 5 to flash my new baby...... am i right ??
i mean i dont need to do the hardSPL-part, right ?
im just going to doublesheck a few things here, because i dont want to do no mistake.
then he told me, that i just should look witch is the most popular rom (i think he ment the thread with the most posts or clicks.)
i followed his hint and found the "HyperDragon IV Mega"-rom
but then takin a closer look i realised that the links to the rom are down:
"...Admin edit: links removed due to legal complaint from microsoft...."
hmm,....i know it is hard to say "witch is the best rom"...but can anyone give me his special tip.
i think it is not a good way to just take the rom with the most posts in the supportthread, because it is possible, that a rom just lunched and is better than olders, etc.
is there any thread with a list of most popular roms and a discussion about them ???
greetings revnu
105 views and noone has an idea ?
isnt there a list of all roms and a kind of ratingsystem to make it easier for someone to decide wich rom to try out ?

There is unwillingness to do any kind of rating, etc. out of respect for the chefs and their hard work, which is voluntarily done.
I know how it is to come to this scene for the first time. You've read the flashing guide. That's good. Take a look at the various offerings. Consider the features. Read the comments. There are a lot of excellent roms to try. Some are lite, so you can add features to your liking. (probably something you should try later after you become more familiar with the flashing scene) Some are loaded according to the cook's taste. After a few tryouts you might even become a flashing junkie.
Good Success!
ok i understand.
at time i have the black styluz mod. i dont know wich version, but i have to flash a new rom because my version have bugs.
im going to flash the black styluz v5 because i dont have a clue wich rom could be good
but i think there are a few roms out there wich a very popular, because they have win6,5 or other things.
okok i try to tell it in short:
I AM NOT ABLE TO DECIDE WICH ROM TO TAKE BECAUSE THEIR ARE TO MUCH AND THEY HAVE NO STRUKTURE
from my later experiences then flashing older phones i always found such thing is a "list of avabable roms".... is their such a threath ?
sry 4 bad english
"list of available roms" . . . For the most part, that is what this forum is. All Kaiser roms found on XDA are listed here, on a thread by thread basis. You mentioned bugs. . . You'll have problems on many if you don't flash to a stock rom first. Each cook offers the recommended procedure for flashing their rom. Their recommendations are worth following.
ur right....im sry
ill check few roms and decide ma own. till now i had experience with black stylus.
the error i had (could not send sms) was because of my handyprovider...
anyway i now flashed the newest black stylus (full) over the older sylus version......without flashing to a stock rom first. i read the instruktion on his site, but i think i missed the part...
Once you become a little more familiar with things it won't be so troublesome. I hope you will enjoy it. The ol' Kaiser is sinking into the sunset, but it is still a great phone, and many of these roms bring out the best this device has to offer.
Good success to you. . .
There are so many to try? It's good. You will not get bored by your phone!
First, read through the FAQ & Wiki. Even if you don't have to do unlock and HardSPL anymore..
It's very important to read more than do more in the beginning.
Enjoy your TyTn II. I use it as 'PC' and dial into my older SE M600i that acts as bluetooth modem. The reason is that I have bought data plan for that SIM card, and I don't want to swap my current SIM card on my working phone (TyTn II) to older phone, but want to use the internet update from that data plan. Tricky, but it works!
I don't know if any other platform can do the same.

[Q] Cooking instructions - Where are they?

Everyone,
First of all pardon my ignorance. I am a newbie.
Q: I have a HTC Tilt2, and recently unlocked it with a T-Mobile SIM. Today I downloaded "Energy.RHODIUM.21916.Sense2.5.Cookie.Dec.27.7z", and "Energy.RHODIUM.29007.Sense2.5.Cookie.Dec.27.7z" roms.
What tool do I use to cook the phone?
Where can I find clear instructions?
Any preferrences between the 2 ROMS?
Thanks,
Reggie
well, let's get things cleared out first. "cooking" a rom means building a rom, made usually by a "chef". "installing" a rom is a different story, which is what most of the people do, download a rom, and then installing it on their devices.
there is usually a rom section in your phone's forums, find them and there should be a full guide for rom "installation".
there are usually some differences between custom roms, which one is more appropriate for u depends on u, and might be different that what others prefer.
Ditto. "Cooking" a ROM is something that requires a lot of skill and usually an SDK plus some tools. Installing one is much easier, and the ROM has already been tested so if you follow the instructions carries a smaller risk of "bricking" your device.
But then again most "chefs" know how to "unbrick" just about anything they've been "cooking" on
