I made a shortcut to device info to update that way but it never does and can not find it. Can anyone help me get the ota back?? please

Forgive me if this has already been answered somewhere. I've read literally hundreds of posts here, and I think I might be suffering from temporary information overload.
Last week I successfully rooted my G1 by following one of the several sets of instructions here. I now want to use JFUpdater to upgrade my G1 to a rooted version of Cupcake, but I am unable to do so. JFUpdater just tells me that there are no updates for me.
This is my current configuration:
Model Number: T-Mobile G1
Firmware version: 1.1
Baseband version: 62.33.20.08H_1.22.14.11
Kernel version: 2.6.25-01843-gfea26b0 [email protected] #1
Build number: kila-user 1.1 PLAT-RC33 126986 ota-rel-keys, release-keys
When I start JFUpdater, I get this message:
No updates found.
Press 'Check now' to manually
check for new updates.
When I select 'Check now' I get a "Checking for updates" message followed by "No JF OS updates found" 5-10 seconds later.
I thought that I would be able use JFUpdater to upgrade my rooted RC33 system to a rooted Cupcake build, but is that an incorrect assumption?
Or perhaps is it the case that I can only use JFUpdater to get 1.5 if I am currently running a rooted ADP build?
Thanks in advance for any clarification you could offer me.
.
The issue is that there's no JF1.5 build based on T-Mobile's US Cupcake image yet (as they've just barely started rolling it out to "regular" users).
You can upgrade to the JF1.5 Cupcake build for ADP (your G1 acts like an ADP) if you tell the JFUpdate tool to show a different "System Mod Version." You're on "T-Mobile G1 (US)" and the current 1.5 build is for "ADP 1." If you pick that and tell it to update again, it'll find the new 1.5 build.
Note that it's a "generic" Google build for the ADP w/JF's well-known and well-regarded mods; you will not have MyFaves or other T-Mobile specific stuff. The phone *will* work, though. If you go that route, make sure you update the radio image too for best results.
I'm figuring on waiting, myself; I'm eager to get a rooted T-Mobile US Cupcake image with JF's mods. It's handy being able to muck around with MyFaves settings on the phone.
I can't speak for JF, of course, but it shouldn't be too much longer before T-Mobile's US Cupcake image is unleashed on the public, snagged by somebody here on XDA, and modded for release via the JFUpdate tool.
OK. I get it now. I'll just wait until there's a JF-based US Cupcake image that's ready to download.
Thank you for explaining.

I hope this is in the correct section... I've been searching but a little turned around and lost.
Just got a new Evo yesterday and it came with 2.2. I used this method: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=719763
I've also been reading a lot of forums and tutorials but still feel a little lost. I don't want to flash a custom ROM because I want 4G/WiMax but I would like to use a custom kernel to unlock the 30Hz refresh rate lock and enable overclocking/hotspot. I do not need HDMI.
I've been reading that Unrevoked 3 isn't a full root and I need to unlock my NAND via another method. I am also unsure how to change my kernel or which one to use on Froyo 2.2. I'm furthermore confused whether
How can I unlock my NAND after using the guide above, and could anyone recommend a kernel for my requirements?
My phones revision is 003.
I might just be an idiot LOL. It looks like if I downgraded to 2.1 and ran unrevoked forever, I should have S-OFF which means my NAND is unlocked already?
This means I should be able to just download a kernel compatible with 2.2 and flash that correct?
ok, SysFailure, here is the deal, follow the link below to root/nand-unlock your phone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=765496
You are 100% correct, the UnRevoked team has not created a exploit for a stock 2.2 froyo EVO, so the link shows you how to downgrade your EVO to 2.1, root and nand-unlock it, then upgrade to 2.2. BE ADVISED, his step-by-step procedure is not quite step-by-step. You can do it, just follow his steps EXACTLY, then if you hit an issue, think through it, get through it, right.
I rooted my stock 2.2 EVO using his steps. Here is what I have now:
Android Version: 2.2
Baseband Version: 2.15.00.07.28
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.15-g746f4f0
[email protected] #58
Build Number: 3.26.651.6 CL218634 release-keys
Software Number: 3.26.651.6
PRI Version 1.40_003
PRL Version 60670
How to tell if you have NAND-S OFF or NAND is unlocked, known as FULL ROOT access.
** after you perform the root/procedures in the previous post/thread.
Power Off Your phone/Press and hold <Sound Down Button> then hit the power button. You should see at the top, something like this:
SUPERSONIC EV2-3 SHIP S-OFF
Good Luck
Model number SAWEE10
The rom on the "Superpad" is android2.2_20110420
Kernel Version 2.6.32.9semitime-server#4
Build number FRF853
On bootup my release showed 0.6.1.5()
Yes the parenthesis were empty....
So....do I have newer then everyone else and if so can someone point me to most direct instructions on dumping the rom before I change any of it so I can upload it somewhere?
The safest method to root would also be appreciated...I'm attempting to resist monkeying with the rom until I can get it dumped.
If I'm wrong in assuming this is a "newer" version please let me know and I'll skip trying to save it.
Dear all,
I'm sorry if it is not the good place to ask help but i search a solution on forum, blog, google... and i'm blocked.
I have a samsung nexus s which coulnd't boot. It stay with "Google" on screen.
I try to find the recevory mod, in order to make a factory reboot, but the recovery mod is broken also. The little android robot is open with a red exclamation mark.
I have this information on the boot menu :
Fastboot mode
Product Name : HERRING
HW Version : REV 52
Bootloader version : I9020XXLC2
Baseband version : I9020XXKI1
Carrier Info : EUR
SERIAL number : xxxxxxx
Lock State : Locked
I try a method with ODIN, i try to root the phone, but the system is shut. ODIN failed, the root also failed even if the phone is half reconized with the kies samsung driver.
So i don't know what to do now... lose the information isn't a problem, i just want a working phone.
Someone could help me?
Thanks a lot,
pS: i'm french, sorry for my english
And i did a mistake first time, in posting in the wrong section http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2078419
Download this: http://goo.gl/0K6eh then install it.
Instructions:
1. Select the CORRECT device and build (what you are currently running) <-- Select the EXACT device model. For example: i9023, i9020A, etc.
2. Configure your drivers if you haven’t already using the driver guide (If you aren’t sure use Step 3 of the driver guide to test your drivers).
3. If you need to backup your important data.
4. Unlock your device
5. Root your device
*Try out the other toolkit features by pressing the buttons, each button explains what it does first. So the best way to get familiar with the toolkit is simply to press the buttons and read what it says.

Hi,
I'm new with HTC after many years of using Samsung phones so I need your help. As much as I could learn from reading different threads I have S3 variant, Cid HTC_102 (Germany) and 4.0.3 version of android. Thing that bathers me is that I didn't receive OTA 4.0.4 when everybody started to receive 4.1.1. I did not root yet, it is completely stock. I found a file for my Cid for 4.0.4: (PJ4020000_OTA_VILLEC2_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.15.401.100-1.11.401.110_release_2865916) so I know that there is an update but I just didn't receive it.
I did a factory reset and it didn't help.
Main problem is that I can't flash any new custom ROM as I have hboot 2.09 (all new thing for me to learn).
I am thinking of manually installing 4.0.4 firmware but I still don't know how. I found out that RUU is simple exe file but I don't know how this PJ* file works.
I would appreciate your help and any tips.
Thanks.
EDIT:
Software number: 1.11.401.110 Baseband version: 16.12.20.02u_16.05.20.16_m2
Is this RUU file correct for my device to install?:
-RUU_VILLEC2_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.15.401.100_Radio_16.21.20.02U_16.09.20.11_M2_release_286571_signed.exe
EDIT 2: Never mind, I learned it the hard way, by trying. Everything is ok now.
