text editor - marnix - Non-Touchscreen Windows Mobile Other

Hey,
I am looking for a freeware text editor/notepad program for the Motorola mpx220 smartphone with windows mobile 2003 OS. I don't need all the excel en powerpoint features in an office suite.
The program does needs to be able to:
-edit/create txt files, in
-can deal with large size (complete articles and books, like 300-500 pages)
-crop text to the screen size of the phone (so I only have scroll vertically and not horizontally)
-has a search function to look up specific words/symbols.
Does anyone know such a free program?

text notes on tornado

does anybody knows of any way to have text notes on a smartphone? just like in the poket pcs?
thanks
Text notes...
Hi... you can use Microsofts' OneNote Mobile (.cab available somewhere in this forum, but you'll have to do a search for that) or Smartphone Notes available from www.smartphone.net for just a few dollars. OneNote is perfect if you use OneNote on your desktop as I do, but if you haven't got that, or would rather sync with the notes in Outlook, use Smartphone Notes.
There may well be others, but these are two I've used myself and both are good for what you need.
if you are using office onenote on your pc u also can install onenote mobile from the pc app:
select the 7th tab (file, edit... "instruments"(i don't know the exact english name in italian is Strumenti ^^) then select OPTIONS
in the new windows select "onenote mobile" category then click "install" with your device connected with activesync

Universal notes program

I am looking for a notes program that lets me add both text and small sketches/drawings or even photo's to my notes... (sometimes a picture says more then 100 words)
And the program should come with a nice system to archive my notes or even add them to my outlook agenda.
You don't say what platform/device, but you might want to look at PhatNotes for Outlook from http://www.phatware.com
What about OneNote Mobile - part of MS Office Mobile 6.1 - that allows you to type or handwrite items, plus you can insert pictures or take a picture to insert into the note; the PC version will synchronise with the mobile version and you can then add notes as Outlook tasks.
Just a couple of thoughts from me...there's bound to be others
Mark.
One Note is a good solution but I also use Evernote, it's a free note app that works with a free desktop client and also a web interface (all free). This program lets you take typed notes, written notes, picture notes, pictures in notes, and audio notes. It then uploads the information to a web version and syncs with a desktop client provided by them. I use evernote only because I use an HTC Diamond and an iPhone 3G (depending on the day is the phone I use) and Outlook does not sync notes to iPhone so I use evernote to sync my notes everywhere. I would however prefer to use One Note just because it does not need to sync to an online portal.
OneNote Mobile is included with the version of MS office which comes with oneNote for pc
I can suggest Mobile Sketcher if you need to add notes to pictures
great answers, i'll start reading up on these..
I am currently using an old Imate JAMin, but i am soon upgrading to a Touch HD, and with the big screen it seems perfect to make little technical sketches along with my notes. So actually i am looking for an application to use on the HD...
I will certainly have use for mobile sketcher too, its not exactly what i was thinking about but its awesome to add handwritten text and little sketches to pictures i take from technicall stuff.
Thanks all...
With phatnote not being able to save notes on the flash ram, i guess it will be onenote (which i allready own on my PC, but never used as it came with the office suite, and i tend to never make notes behind my PC, but allways en route in the field)
I tested Onenote on my JAMin and it doesn;t fit the bill...
I can not make any sketches/drawings inside my notes....(i can only add pictures and soundrecordings)... thats the most essentiall thing it need to do...

Printing text messages?

I need some important help. I want to find out if its possible to print text messages from my HTC Touch Pro. Any help?
capture your screen, send to PC, and print it. I think that's the most valid to prove something
Any recomedations for a good app to capture? I have a us cellular version (RAPH800 model) and it doesn't come with any of the verizon or att programming. WM 6.1, stock ROM v1.08.573.1
Spb screenshot is pretty good
there is an option in some wm6.1 when you hold down your stylus and the menu pops out
print via bluetooth...so you can access printer which has bt support and print it out
if not...it is far easier to copy the text to a new note(wm's note or office word) copy it to your pc and print it just like any other document
also you could use MyMobiler to remote control your device, and display the screen contents on your desktop. take screenshots using just printscreen key, if you need to prove the messages were delivered to your device. or if you want to print multiple messages, you could export text messages to a .csv file (powersms) and open it with ms excel, and print the file.

Hows to associate alternative to Pocket Word/Excel in e-Mail client?

I have a HTC Touch HD running Windows Mobile 6.1.
Also using Blackberry Connect to provide wireless synchronisation to email, contacts and appointments via my corporate BES.
Have the SoftMaker Office 2008 for Pocket PC to allow me to work on word, Excel and Powerpoint files on my mobile device.
The SoftMaker Office 2008 programs (Testmaker, Planmaker and Presentations) are all associated with the appropriate file file types.
For example if I click an an excel file the file is opened for editing by Planmaker, not pocket excel.
The Problem.
I receive office type documents as attachments in my windows mobile device email. However when I open the attachements from within the eMail the default pocket word/office applications are used to show me the attachment instead of the Softmaker applications.
I work in EH&S and the majority of attachents I receive are Incident Notification Forms consisting of large mutil tabed excel sheet. Because they are large and they take a long time and considerable space to fully download.
I am happy to be able to see the initial part of the attachment (with option to download more) but I would like to see this in Planmaker as pocket excel screws the formating so badly I cannot read the summary information (displayed on the initial tab on the spreadsheet) which I need to read to determine if I should download the entire file to my mobile device for immediate action or wait until I am back in the office.
Is there a way to associate an alternative application (eg Planmaker and Textmaker) other than Pocket Word/Excel to handle attachements in the windows mobile e-Mail Client?
I have asked this of the Softmaker Office Support team but they were unable to provide a solution.
Hope I have explained my issue appropraitly, any help greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Ed
No ideas from anyone?
