Speed dial on Today screen? Treo -> Fuze - General Questions and Answers

I recently upgraded from a Treo 700wx to a Fuze. While the Fuze obviously offers tons of features over the Treo, one thing I'm missing from the Treo are the 6 speed dials you could have on the Today screen. Is there a CAB I can download to install this functionality on my Fuze? I flashed to ROMeOS with no intention of putting TF3D back on. I've read about Spb but from what I understand it adds a contact page, it doesn't list them on the Today screen. However, assuming there isn't a way to add speed dials to the Today screen, is Spb what I should go with?
Thanks.

you can either use Ultimate Launch to create contact icons or you can use...

Cheetah Cingular ROM
Once I have performed this update on my 750v, how will I be able to retrieve the updated versions of the Cingular ROM? This version seems to be full of annoying bugs.
So far there's no other available ROM.
yet... I hear that there will be a new ROM soon (Mid Jan).
Auto Disconnect on Treo 750
I had a piece of software for the Kaiser that made a boatload of tweaks to the registry, and it did two that I liked; one was an autodisconnect of the data (GPRS/EDGE/3G) after x number of seconds (I believe it defaulted to 600) and another that enabled the HSDPA icon for 3G.
That software did not work on my 750 because it needs Net 2.0, so I was wondering if anyone might have the settings I need to add/change for these registry entries??
I will also post this in the Kaiser forum, in hopes of an answer there. many thanks in advance for all the help!

wm6 standard questions

hey guys (and girls where aplicable),
i got a question (a sorta dumb one). If a smartphone lik the iPAQ 514 Voice Messenger or the HTC Vox have windows mobile 6 standard does that mean they run regular windows mobile programs or smartphone versions? See the Cheeta/treo 750 has windows mobile standard ed. and is called a smartphone but it uses regular PPC programs, the other two mentioned before have the same wm6 but no touch screen. so i was wondering if that made a diference in the phones capabilities to use PPC Progs? I appreciate any answers as i am greatly puzzled and intregued buy this.
With WM6 they dispensed with the term "smartphone" in favour of WM 6 Standard. Too many non Windows Mobile phones were being called "smart phones" as well as PPC phones.
WM Standard has no support for touch screens and many PPC apps will not run on it.
WM Pro has touchscreens.
understanding versions...
so lemmie go over this... a ppc with a touch screen is said to run WM6 pro, a ppc without a touch screen is said to run wm6 standard the "smartphone" version. so what of the vox? it has all the capabilities of a full sized PPC without the touch screen so where would it and the ipaq 514 fit in? Because correct me if i'm wrong but dont they offer features like MS Office editing and production verus the others whose ability is limited to viewing or is it the WM6 platform that actually enables this?
You're right, its just a functionality of WM6. Any smartphone (i.e. non-Touch screen device) running WM6 has those same office capabilities and will be running WM6 Standard, not Professional.
As far as I know the two WM6 are one same core of the same OS but..
In the PPC version there is more advanced setup in the menus wich setup is locked in the Srtandard by default.
For example in the Standard there is no way to change the IP of the wi-fi manually.
And in the pocket pc there is some dll's, responsible for touchscreen operation .
yes but....
i do believe you might be correct on everything but the I.P setup for standard. i have an sda running wm6 and i can manually setup my wifi and change certain settings in the network config. Also the HP ipaq 514 that i've been researching also has the same features. see my big thing is i love he compact size of the smart phone but need the capabilities of the PPC. It wold be great if i could get the best of both. i know the O2 XDA stealth has that exact combo but they are hard to find and kinda pricey for thier age.
There are separate SDKs for Standard and Pro, so I think the differences run a little deeper.
well what to do?
well i guess my final questions then wuld be what kind of phone are:-
1/ O2's xda stealth
2/ HP's Ipaq 514

Any 3UK users on WM devices? - Touch Diamond...

has anyone got 3 (UK) to work properly on a windows mobile device/pocket pc?
(MMS don't matter - but internet does)
my tytn/hermes is broken (screen) and not worth repairing so i can't test/try.
been using a K850i since.
I want to buy the HTC Touch Diamond next month (sim-free) and have year left in my 3 contract.
if anyone could share their experiences with 3 on windows mobile i'd be grateful.
I'm using 3 on my Atom Life. Works really well, make sure to use this cab to load your settings if the device doesn't already have them built in.
thanks, there are a few cabs around but people i asked couldn't use 3.
I've not had any problems using an HTC Trinity on 3UK.
It's worked with WM5, WM6 and 6.1.
No problem with internet access or MMS.
Just don't seem to be able to get at all of 3's interactive services from WM phone. (ie video weather etc), but when you've got internet access it doesn't really matter.

MyFaves (from NEO) for WM 6.1 Phones?

Has anyone looked into getting MyFaves ported to work with WM 6.1 phones? It would be amazing if this could be made available in the Sliding Panel interface. If I can be of any help, point me in the proper direction. I have a Tornado and Startrek with WM 6.1 on them and can test on both. I'm waiting until this is all working before I put 6.1 on my Shadow.

Not sure if you've seen it, but some of the ROM cookers (like for the DASH) have included a simple photo dialer in their roms that fit inside a sliding panel. It doesn't do all the MyFaves stuff like show birthdays, manage the five, etc. but it does let you call or SMS the five, each in his own slide.
(Just for clarification)
Chome Configurator also lets you add this dialer to an existing rom that doesn't have it,for photo contact dialing/sms.
what we need to wait for is t-mobile to offer a wm 6.1 phone and rip the myfaves from it and then put it on our custom 6.1 roms
untill then we are stuck without a full myfaves on custom roms

upgraded phone, text question

I just upgraded form the xv6700 to the xv6800. I had cooked the 6700. The 6800 is stock. I have managed to get all of my apps that i want over, but am lacking 2 things. First one, on the cooked 6700, the text messages would organize themselves into conversations from people. the 6800 does not do this, it just lists them as they come in. I have tried sorting different ways, but that does not do it. I cant figure out what i used in the cooked rom to accomplish this, any ideas?
secondly, I had added the touch diamond qwerty keyboard to the 6700 through the kitchen rom i used. Is there an individual download for this? everytime i search i just get info on the touch diamond.
Thanks in advance guys.
oh, i am running windows mobile 6 professional. OS 5.2.1238 (build 17745.0.2.3)
