what is the most effective way to stream video on your PPC
i ve got a tytn II.
my question:
1. How do I use the 'streaming media' program that asked for rtsp:\\?
2. I also want to stream video directly from my PC from my tytn. i had to set my PC as a VPN server for my tytn to view the shared media file but it wouldnt play anything. I could only view the files.

I currently have an HTC Wizard G4 Locked running WM6 Business Edition and have Opera installed as my browser. I have TMobile in the US with the full $30 data plan.
I also have a home computer at home with a TV Tuner card so that I can watch TV. Orb Media Streaming is on and working as I can access it from a laptop anywhere.
When I go to mycast.orb.com, I can login to my computer and see the channels/files that I have. So I click on one, and it shows up asking if I want to open or save the asx files. I say open and WM Player opens up and says locating. Then it says The server is Busy or not responding. Try again later. If I open the asx in TCPMP, it says URL is not openable. What is the problem? I am streaming the video through port 81 from my computer. I would appreciate any answers. Thx
Use PIE, I never got it to work on opera.
Sounds like Opera may not be passing the stream file correctly to WMP.
I would just use PIE. That's what I access Orb through on WM6 and it works great.
the problem is that the codecs for wm10 are different than the ones from wm9. the is another thread in the wizard forums that has the wm9 files. you just copy them into the windows directory and you're good to go.
hi all,
i have installed real player in my ppc to view the rtsp video stream. now the link of the stream in on a web page. when i open this web page on my ppc and click on the video stream link.....it automatically opens windows media player(which does not support rtsp video stream).
i want that upon clicking the video stream real player should open and start playing the stream.
is there any solution for this problem. in case this issue has already been addressed before in this forum, can someone point me in the correct direction

2, always search the Wiki first when you have a question. Your answer is at http://wiki.xda-developers.com/inde...nt (RealAudio and RealVideo) on my Pocket PC?
hello sir.
thnx for the response.
the problem is a bit different from what i think you have perceived.
i'm able to play the streaming video (rtsp) if i put the url "rtsp://xyz" directly in the player itself.(i'm using platform4 player). so that means the network is not the problem.
when i click on the link in web page (that contains the url "rtsp://xyz")....it opens the windows media player(which is obviously unable to open rtsp stream).....
what i want is, on clicking the link, instead of opening windows media player i want it to open platform 4 player..
i hope i'm clear enough.
thanks again

ok i'm posting this here because i can't find a section for samsung win mo devices here.
when i play video clips from youtube mobile site on my samsung i780 it by default uses a program called microsoft pocket video player (pvplayer). Problem is it only works via my HSDPA connection not WiFi. This is a problem because I'm on a capped data plan. I can't find any icon for this mysterious player so I can maybe add the WiFi connection as default.
Does anyone know how to change the default player for IE? I have TCPMP installed and have selected the setting to default to .3gp video files (youtube mobile site delivers videos in .3gp format)
I know there are standalone youtube players but I prefer to get it to work via the browser first as I already have the necessary ingredients already on the phone. cheers!

please always read my related articles before posting q's. Your problem is that of RTSP callbacks. That is, you need to use something non-RTSP-based: FLV or H.264. I recommend CorePlayer and Kinoma Play the most.

edit: youtubeplay it is for me. thanks for the help
Hi guys,
I want to use my HD Touch to stream music (mostly in mp3 format) from my main pc, i.e. like a squeezebox.
What's the best software which will allow me to do this?
The only thing I can find is "LobsterTunes" but its last release was in 2008
Thanks
I use WMP to run a media server on my pc, and Conduits Pocket Player to access it from ppc over my wireless home network.
Orb...i really think this is your best bet.
Hi,
I want have access with my vox (WM6.5 from FB) to my notebook via WLAN and network to get files or listen music (e.g. streaming mp3s with TCPMP). Is there a way to realize ?
After short google investigation I found Resco Explorer for PPC to get access to files on notebook. But smartphone version hasn't that feature.
Any idea?
Regards Odiad
you could try to stream music and videos with vlc player.
if tcmp doesn't work, maybe HTC Streaming Media Player will.
Hi Klownk,
thanks for the hint. If I am try to use HTC streaming..... and I go to "Connect" I have to fill an adress. Can you support me how to fill in:
Example:
Notebook name (in windows): Notebook
IP in private network: 192.168.1.105
Music is in: C:\Music\....... (many subfolders with music files /mp3/WMA)
Networkname (SSID): Odiadnetz
So how to fill in into adressbar of HTC-Tool ? And do I have to fill in every path of each song ? Or is there a way to browse in my music folder structure?
Or can I use the tool only for streaming in www ?
Thanks in advance
Odiad
Conduits PocketPlayer can receive (and even send!) streams. It detects available servers via UPNP. You need to have a mediaserver installed on the PC. I did this once to see if it works (it does) but I don't remember which mediaserver performed best. See http://www.conduits.com/community/forum_topics.asp?FID=19
